Is anyone else as impressed as I am with Mike Alessi? He hung right there with 2nd through 6th the whole night. He has come a long way with his Supercross skills the last couple of years. Villopoto was just a man on a mission, nobody was gonna beat him that night and Chad Reed finally showed some of the speed from last year. Too bad they didnt ditch the air fork sooner.

I sure like CBS better than Speed, you can see the riders name and number when they
run it on the top during the race. Also, wonder why they didn't interview RV 1 after winning?
Hey Larry on my CBS they did interview RV however Erin did not ask about "the Pass". Also I felt CR still did not ride that well he was in fourth and when they all bunched up he did not pass JB or JS, they pulled away from him. I think there was another time when it bunched up and they pulled away from him again. JB mess up put him on the podium. Why would wait this long to go back to what you know worked? OH and I'm a CR fan.
LarryWitmer...probably because WADA grabbed him immediately after the race to do a piss test because the dude is superhuman.

Our CBS station ran a cartoon, then Bull Riding from Arlington. The Supercross race was on at 2:30 am. This is one of those times a DVR would have been nice. I will have to find a friend, who recorded it, so I can view what some are calling the best race of the year....
@AGMAN.. I called a bud of mine that lives by me. Asked him about this too. He thought it was weird too with no RV1 interview. Maybe they cut it due to time or something in our local station...
A rider can pass in an area that displays the yellow flag past the red cross flag.
Stupid...but even RC commented that yes, you can pass in this area. Why even
display a yellow flag if it means nothing. It just shows young riders to blitz past
the yellow flag...

@ BD25 I dont know I recorded it to find out that the first 2 heats were not even on the tape it just went to the lcq then the main. Then the highlites of 2 heats... Something thru the day went long.. Must a been a Sequester thing ! LOL ! For nobody being in Washington they sure can still make a big stink!
To comment about the Speed VS CBS ...the riders names displayed is about the best thing about CBS. I like the 3 hr coverage live on speed, but hey will be happy with next day telecast.. not like the old days three month later coverage.
Anybody else experience missing the first 3 laps of the 450 main on CBS? After showing roughly 10 minutes of commercials the race came back on with the highlights of the LCQ then went straight into showing Goerke land on Chisolm and a replay of RV passing under the emergency flag. NO COVERAGE of the start or the first 3 laps! Maybe CBS should stand for "Can't Be Seen", this is something that we would have expected 40 years ago on ABC's Wide World of Sports but not in this day and age.
@ LarryWitmer
Did you ever race Road Atlanta MX in the day !
@BillC--Heck yes!! And the result was great racing.. Alot of crying going on, but a great race, good passing, and the 250 race nobody is talking about was awesome too..
@AQGman--Barcias mistake put Reed on the podium and put Stewart in second.. Barcia passes Stew if he doesnt mess up.. but thats just it, he messed up.. There are too many fast guys to make mistakes like that and podium anymore.. Barcia is getting there, he will be a force, it takes time on that big bike.. I said the same about Tomac before Atlanta, and guys called me out telling me I didnt know anything.. But 20 laps on the 450 is alot harder than 15 laps on a 250..
@ Uncle...Oh, yes. The red clay of Road Atlanta and the hills along with the huge berms
that would build up. I went there for a Pro Road Race and looked for the old MX track.
Yep, missed the first 3 laps on the CBS broadcast. They have SO much fluff (I guess to pull in the "general public" to watch?), and then they don't even show the entire main event - wow! But could have been worse - at least I wasn't greeted with a 700 Club telethon like last time SX was on CBS.
@ronniebarnhardt - agreed, Mike A was hanging with those guys, pretty much to the end. If he stays healthy I think he will be in the hunt when it comes to outdoors (and who knows, he might pull off a podium spot at Daytona - doubtful but possible).
Hats off bigtime to Wil Hahn. Some guys ... well most ... seem to fall into a "hard working top 10 kind of guy" category, and I would have lumped him in that territory before the season started. But Wil has shown he is legit, and can dig deep and find not only the physical but mental gears it takes to win. Bravo!
Great night of racing and a much more entertaining track...
The flag debate has been beatin' to death....rules are rules and although it was kind of a cheeze move on RV's part considering he started to actually make the pass rolling through the jumps along side of James (where the red cross flags were) then sneaking on the inside, but it is what it is.RV was winning that race anyway and he could have waited and made a real pass.... I think James was just a little too cautious (funny people dog him for the exact opposite all the time) and after one red flag restart and then the red cross and yellow flags James just went too slow allowing all those guys to catch up....one of the negatives of being the leader in a situation like that....Reed and Dungey went from 4-5 seconds back to being right in the thick of it...Overall, as a RV and JS7 fan - it was a good race and RV made huge points...while James showed us where he belongs..
good point KilloMoto, Reed and RD must have went thru the RED flag section WAY faster then JS,RV and JB. But I believe RV made the Pass over the bump into the corner passed the yellow.
.BD25 got your power back?? You MUST SEE THIOS RACE!! I watched it twice it was so good!! LOL and yes CBS did not show the first 3 laps!!
Go away CBS,leave REAL SPORTS to SPEED,do your job, with STICK and BALL sports. You have tried, and its obvious that you have no clue, thanks and Good Day Mate....
Indeed BillC - Everyone went through that section faster than James.Definatly a prime example why it sucks to be the leader in a situation like that...Barcia was just about passing RV while rolling over the triple...Since RV and JS7 are my boys, I would have liked to see a little more battlin' and a less cheezier pass for the win/ lead...RV was clearly the man on Saturday and I was REALLY impressed with James....Its like watching a different guy out there....The flag/RV pass boggled him I think as Barcia closed in an passed, but BArcia made the mistake (not James) and James was able to put some distance inbetween himself and his buddy Reed..... Also, folks baggin on James pass on RV before the flags....RV pretty much did the same move on Reed....hypocrisy....got too love it!! Great race
CBS skipping theREAL start of the 450 Main and the first 3 laps was pretty lame...3laps is what...3 minutes of airtime?? Maybe just runover like everyother event......Do we really need to see the PC guys playing with remote control cars on every CBS broadcast ???? They had to of known that the restart and those events were going to be great TV...why not show it....save the Josh Hill story for another week....
I am SO glad JS stuck this season out and glad he is riding good, I LOVED his fight with RV and the re-passes, everything was clean.
OK fantasy start to Daytona, TC,CR,DM, RD, JB, JS, RV and its on !! this would be a screamer from the start !
I must of replayed the start several times to see there wasn't any start, just a restart. I thought I was missing something, can't believe CBS would cut the start of the race for something else.
Everyone still healthy- most talent at the same time, who ever wins this season can just retire. not much more you need to do.
@BillC-- I agree this is definatly the best race so far.. Lets hope Daytona is the same.. The good thing about Daytona is the laps are longer, so with a so-so start a top guy can make up some time or maybe some passes to move up.. Lets just hope we get at least 3 of the top guys up front at the start.. Any of them..
@CZmark--I am sure CBS did what they had to do to fit it into one hour..They have to show some filler crap and commercials, so the first 3 laps we missed, just a quick re-play and some dumb comments from Ralph.. But I will take it, at least we got to see the race.. Daytona and Indy are live anyway, plus I will be at Indy..
YES DAYTONA BD200, Could be Epic if a lot of fast guys start up front!!
Can anyone remember a race when they did not show the start of the 450 main!?? They not only skipped the first 3 laps of the main but they wasted 3 minutes on an expose' on Josh Hill who DID NOT EVEN RACE because he was sick. Wonder if they are kissing up to RC to present him during the CBS telecast. This is getting bad. RC gets his team mentioned on CBS and RV cheats twice and gets docked once. Wonder if Monster rider in a Monster event had anything to do with the outcome. CBS- worst coverage ever.
@rgeniec--Go away!! RV cheats twice?? What are you talking about?? He made a mistake once and got penelized, if the race didnt get red-flagged he would have been penelized at the end of the race.. The 2nd pass was COMPLETELY legal.. Its been explained a thousand times..Get over it or go away..good lord we have babies out there.. WAAAAA!!!
@CBS screws up another boradcast and you blame RC?? WOW--you are waaay out there....
I think Obama might be behind the pre-empting of Supercross in so many areas of the country this week, because it does not further his agenda.
