Finally a great wake up call! Can't believe, the season is under way. Great night of racing. Pumped for DM. Super pumped for turbo Trey. Reed was himself, I'm sure he'll pick it up. There is no stopping Locomotive! Weimer had a solid night, beating everyone else( short, grant, windham etc. ). Stewey got some points. Barcia- impressive for a rookie. Villopoto- wow! The gnarliest dude out there. His speed in the first heat was ultrasonic! Looked a bit sketchy though. Is it the bike? Is it him overriding it? Remains to be seen. Anyway, him starting all the way back in title hunt, makes for some great racing!
Now I can sleep calmly, knowing that season is under way:D

Congratulations Davi, Trey and RD. You're officially in everyone's heads now. Now, off to my old stomping grounds of Phoenix, AZ. A great crowd where Mr. Stewart will make his first 2013 win, followed by RV and Mr. Canard. That is my prediction.

Crazy race for sure. Bet no one picked that top 3!!

Go back and watch the race and focus on Grant. dude was trying to take out anyone and everyone.

Shehan calling Rockstar a privateer team, dumb. Privateers are the guys walking the track after the race picking up used tear offs so they can clean em and use again.

Hey BILLC, how do you feel about me being a Millsaps fan now?? LOL!! He got one, and I was pretty pumped.. I would rather see RV up there, but admit it, Millsaps looked pretty good..

Hey BD200 I never disliked Saps, Yes I gave him crap ( IMO he deserved it ) Just that he has been under performing and this win is proff of that. I alway said i don't know how he can win one week and look so good then the next week get 10th and look bad!! Ya know what I mean? he always had the talent just seemed to be wasting it but MAYBE once and for all he has his crap toghether for good. only time will tell. i for one hope so because the more fast guys the better the raceing is for us!!

BillC wrote: 1:10pm January 7, 2013

Let me add it was not a cheap win cuz he was FAST all day!! Only RV and JS were faster!!

Davi looked good all day. Maybe he has found the right combination to make this a good season for him. I know this is always first race jitters for everyone, so back to the drawing board for all. Hopefully everyone stays healthy. I am guessing we will have a new winner for each of the first few rounds.

Eligibility for contingency funds determines privateer status in my mind. I don't think this is the case with D.M.

Nevertheless, he did a great job and this will only feed the fire of the "cursed YZ450" debate.

As for Grant's riding style, maybe that's just his M.O. I always thought him & the Alessi's always rode rough around each other, but maybe it's just his style. There's nothing wrong with making others fight for your position. There are a lot of great racers that have "wide bike" syndrome........also, maybe he knows his bike is an issue and is fighting to keep from getting passed over, under and around.......which leads me to:

When Milsaps was near Grant, he followed him for a bit, the dove underneath him and gave him a look-back (on the following jump) as if saying "I knew you couldn't go where I just went on THAT bike".

That is what my group gleaned from that encounter.

Either way, I think Davi is happier where he is now and I give Brayton & Grant all the respect in the world for managing what they do on those bikes.

LOL==BD200 finally got one there.. He has been a Millsaps fan-I do remember him catching some crap for it.. I remember some guys saying he shouldnt even have a ride.. Finished the series in 2nd last year, starts off with a win this year..

Yes it surprised everyone that Davi won the race of course. But guys, it's not surprising why. He worked his but off like all the top guys do this summer and lost a ton of weight. Remember that this guy won a lites titles. He has plenty of talent.
