*yawn*, anyone else think they should bring back Glen Helen? So tired of these flat CA tracks.

EDIT: Just saw your post Moto :)

Great looking outdoor supercross track. Please get Glen Helen back on the schedule. Pala was a joke, this just isn't even funny.

BIG SX track with a real short start.

Man all you people do is complain. I loved Glen Helen... and Pala was great too (except the traffic). Elsinore might end up being really cool, but you have to give it a chance! I think the track looks pretty fun. Just go out at watch MX and enjoy life! And quit complaining!

yeah give it a chance, not a fan of Elsinore either but you never know. Hard to tell watching a cartoon. Although I can see the mystery machine handling this thing with ease.

It's so hard to believe there will be a national at Elsinore, the place was a joke 1.5 yrs ago. I always HATED Glen Helen, I went but it sucked, to hot, to many 909ers, to many fights, and viewing the track was a workout climbing all over that place to just get to another crowed area where I couldn't see. Pala was way to dangerous, too high speed, spectators could get hurt at Pala, and the Promoter knew it. But, ELSINORE is a complete joke for a National track. Someone is going to need to fix Glen Helen and bring it up to 2013 caliber, it's still in 1967 with Jody Weisel.

I think it looks pretty cool, especially for a season finale race. Can't wait

Pretty difficult to make an exciting track on a flat dry lake bed, but maybe it will produce some good close racing with many passing lanes. I am also in agreement that Glen Helen is indeed missed and is for certain a "Man's" track as very few other tracks in the US offer the same elevation changes that Glen Helen does.

After watching that i am so glad we have real outdoor tracks back North East. Red Bud; Steel city; And High point. They should call that round 1 of supercross. Is that the best that California has to offer?

"I don't know what to do with this section?" Pause for bong load, cough cough. " I got it dude, we'll put in another roller section"

Dungey's corner speed will surely be on display here.

A few of the obstacles (hip jump, camelback style "uphill") look pretty cool. It seems too much like Pala, though.

Wake me when it's over..just doesn't seem like there is going to be any "national atmosphere"

I think the track looks pretty good. The facility is way better than glen helen, even if the track turns out crappy. Looks like they've done a great job for lacking a lot of natural terrain.

I thought they were racing motocross this weekend not supercross.Does anybody know if MX sports is still looking for a place to hold a southeast national?

I'm in So Cal but at $40. ea I'll keep the family home and we'll watch it on TV instead.
$40 a ticket... what a joke. This ain't Supercross.

It looks like something I use to build on "Excitabike" Come on stop catering to the socal industries and race a natural out door track. Glen Helen was 100 times better than this. Really makes me sick. That is not motocross

Elsinore is deceiving, although the area around it is flat they did a pretty good job of putting some elevation into the main track. Is it a tad bit too heavy on the jumps....yes, but just about every SoCal track is headed that direction. Glen Helen is in a class of it's own as far as venues go, it's a shame it's not on the schedule anymore, the natural terrain is pretty cool there.

I'm sure they did the best they could with what they had... But Glen Helen is an epic, real motocross track and no amount of work on a flat surface can compare.

The good news is that these guys are racers and will fight tooth and nail on any track and hopefully we'll have some good racing.

We can complain all we want, but until the parties involved start behaving like adults who care about our sport and settle their differences, this flat, glorified Supercross track is what we'll have as a closer to the the most important motocross series on the planet.

Wow. I really hope the track is better live than animated. I did not like the videos of the pros practicing at Elsinore either but hoped the track would take a completely different look for the National. Not sure if I am going to attend now. If it was at Glen Helen you could put money on my attendance. Pala was fun. I liked being close to the track but like others said, traffic was a big problem. I sure hope it is a success this weekend.

There allot of Outdoor MX tracks in Calif, (like NORCAL), why cant the MX promoters group go visit other places like: Mammoth, Hollister Hills (which has hosted both National and GP events), the Southeast area, etc? In other words, need to find more tracks, so its the not SAME tracks, and the same fan base every year. In the 70's, the national circuit visited different tracks every so many years. I understand about all of the land closing's, and having enough space to accomadate the crowds, and the road into the facilities. There must be enough tracks across the country to change the schedule every few years, so MX fan base can grow.

To those saying "bring back Glen Helen", it's not that easy. Glen Helen burnt bridges with very high people in the industry, just as Pala did. You can't simply 'go back'. There's a lot that people don't see what actually goes on. Pala and GH are out of the question, so they had to put the last outdoor national SOMEWHERE. Give this place a chance first. You never know what could make of it!

Profile Picture
squid292 wrote: 6:50pm September 5, 2012

I understand that those bridges are burned but this is not a mx track. F'n politics and now we have a series decided on a track that looks like a video game. There's mountains in the back ground drive a few miles and run up and down those hills. Btw park the astrick truck at the bottom of those high speed step downs. You can scrape the carnage of 450's doing 60mph and bar twitching with non factory suspension up and only have to carry them a few feet.Get good flaggers too. All the high speed landings lets hope they all survive thunderdome!

Profile Picture
squid292 wrote: 6:55pm September 5, 2012

ok looked again. Maybe 40 on those step downs. At least it should stay smooth to take a little out the the skill level. Lol as you can tell I don't like it

It is a very rough track, providing you are riding a Penton or Hodaka. I doubt anyone will get tired on this track just sick of riding it.

This would be considered a flat racing surface...even if it were Supercross. MXSports just scooped up that $1mil and went straight to the bank with it. You may as well have held the nat'l in the a supermarket parking lot....

I'm "super pumped" for the Elsinore track owners who stepped up and dumped a boat load of money into this facility. They are gonna have a great turnout and an exciting 250 finale! Congrats on getting the National LE, now let the Geico PC fireworks begin!
Prediction: Bell holeshot, tomac goes by and Baggett is held off by all the geico team. If Baggett doesn't get taken out he'll go 3-3 and win the championship.

squid292 wrote: 7:50pm September 6, 2012

dont think Bell is racing. Do think @ end of day Blake will be the champ. He'll be kept honest on the quest. I'd guess the results will be like Texas. Gonna take motion sickness pills to watch the race, Jump jump jump turn jump jump jump turn ect....Vomit
