Wow, the helmet cam set a 1:34. He'd be lapping Dungey with that kind of speed.

These graphics keep getting better, but the hills just don't seem as steep as they do when you are there.

Kyle Regal was the only one jumping that wall a couple years ago but he was on a 450.

These animated Track Maps are great for offering a decent, overall sense of the tracks but just like seeing only the broadcast (vs. being there or riding the track yourself), it's hard to capture, appreciate and truly demonstrate the elevation changes and texture of the dirt at these outdoor National venues.

After the RED BUD starting area was moved (1976?) from the lower parking section (below LaRocco's leap) up to its present location, the rest of track has remained largely the same layout as it was in the days of DeCoster, Hannah, Lackey, Jones, Pomeroy, Tripes, Smith, Tony D., LaPorte, Weinert, Semics, Howerton, Magoo, Barnett, Glover, Bailey, Johnson, Johnny 'O...

If you've spectated at any of the Nationals- or were fortunate enough to have raced at some of these Historic tracks, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Some of us can't go as fast as we could 35 years ago, but at least the snapshots, 8mm home movies and memories from being there and having done it help us remember our own unforgettable moments on the race tracks where today's greats still impress us.
