Check out LAST NIGHT
in our Latest issue of Racer X available now.Ryan Villopoto may have locked up his 450SX title a week early, but the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross Championship finale still had drama and excitement to spare. Page 124.

nice tv coverage what a bunch of $hit
What happen to speed channel? No offense to NBC Sports, but you suck
Bring back SPEED Channel!
I think it is slightly less complicated this week. But I still have that feeling like when gas goes up to $4.50, then it goes down to $3.99 and you are happy because it's "cheap."
Fuel sucks, no HD. Put all the racing back on Speed please.....
The TV and race schedule do not match up.
"250 Moto 2
Saturday July 7 4:00PM EST - NBC Sports Network"
According to the Race Schedule 2nd motos, the 450 is at 4:00 and the 250 is at 5:00.
I just checked my DVR guide, and the NBC Sports Network is indeed in the 4:00PM (ET) slot for one hour -- that would be live for the 450 2nd moto, which doesn't seem right since that's slated for the NBC Sunday delayed broadcast.
So, is the race schedule wrong or what?
450 on Sunday? What a bunch of shit!!!! They forgot JS7 was racing.
The race schedule on the RedBud site has the 450s running first as well. But for the TV schedule to work, the 250s have to run first. We'll see...
And, while I'm whining about the coverage -- one of the things really driving me nuts is that they're running lap times in the ticker way too much, especially in the last laps of the race. I want to see the intervals!
Beware ,the race follows the Tour de France.MX will get bumped for sure whe the bike race runs over.
My God quit crying you bunch of pus$ies.. Its on live on Saturday, you have to wait one day for one of 4 motos. Its the best package we have ever had, and you guys still bit@h, what a bunch of little girls. Go cry in the girls locker room you bunch of sissies..
@therealmofo
I agree 100%. I am so happy to be able to see every moto this year! Do these guys not remember last year? We had to wait until sunday for the 2nd motos for most of the races...
And Fuel is in HD for me, what kind of shit TV package do you guys have? Probably Dish Network...
Great coverage, if you're not even a fan....
My favorite thing about the internet: people complaining about people complaining. Ever held a mirror up to a mirror?
@therealmofo, it seems to me that a pus$y is someone who willingly takes what is given to them (even if substandard) and says nothing. The race coverage is trash. Motocross is a sport with a significant following. Imagine if they broke NASCAR racing down into two segments over 2 days. There would be a huge outcry. If motocross is ever going to be taken seriously as a mainstream sport, this 2 day coverage BS is going to have to stop. So much of the decisions made about our sport are to make it easier to understand and more appealing and enjoyable to the casual viewer (lifetime numbers, the red background, etc.) How does it make any sense to someone who tunes in to watch on Saturday and, when the coverage ends, they don't even know who won the race? The decision to let NBC Sports Network cover the 2nd motos was a financial one that was not in the best interest of the fans. The coverage is substandard, at best. NBC Sports Network obviously doesn't take motocross seriously. In the last two years, NBC has pre-empted motocross twice. Once for golf, once for a stupid cycling event. The fact that Red Bud follows the Tour De France almost assures this race will be pre-empted too. In addition, NBC doesn't seem to be able to tell the difference between motocross and BMX, as evidenced by the return of Jamie Bestwick to do commentary. With Chad Reed, Ryan Villopoto, Trey Canard and several other top-tier riders out, there is NO shortage of QUALIFIED color-commentators to sit with Emig and Weigandt to announce the race. If we sit back and say nothing, we have no right to complain. NBC has no business covering motocross.
Looking at the schedule, I can go watch the 1st set of motos at the track, then be home in time for the 2nd 250 moto on the tube (although my DLP technically isn't a "tube"). Nah.... too much effort involved. The bicycle race will actually be a replay at that time, won't it? I think it actually comes on about 7 or 8 AM, so maybe they can fit the replay in the allotted time. But then again, maybe not.
Can watching MX be anymore complicated and annoying. No HD on Fuel for some networks. NBC never gets their programing right so if you don't put a hour buffer you will miss it. At least they are showing both full motos. Remember when they used to run highlights of the first moto then show some lame ass rider review. "Do you like Brunettes or Blonde's" That was a sad time in our sport.
It really takes courage to complain on a message board. That's really taking a stand for what you believe. (assume sarcasm font)
Reminds me of a favorite line from a geeky character on X-Files, "You don't play Dungeons and Dragons for 10 years and not learn a little something about courage."
@MX Bob, true enough. That's why I have sent emails and letters to Fuel TV, NBC Sports Network, Lucas Oil Pro Motocross and the AMA. If you don't express your consternation with the current situation, you have no right to complain.
What does complaining have to do with courage? People complain when something bothers them. Everyone does it. It's how we find out if anyone else agrees. If no one does, we should suck it up and shut up. If others do agree, then we can try to do something about it.
Calling others "pus$ies" on a message board -- now THAT takes "real" courage. Pfffft.
I would rather wait a week and get the kind of race coverage of the late 90's and early 2000's than what I have seen lately. At least we had both moto's at the same time so there was consistency, awesome camera angles, compared to the terrible angles nowadays and coverage that was more about the racing rather than commentators trying to explain everything to 1st graders watching for the first time. I love Emig and Weege, no hit to them, I'm sure they are told to be that way to try and get new viewers, but that just isn't going to happen. Why? Because historically it never has and I am just fine with that. I know it's a fringe sport and I love it for that reason, but SURELY, SURELY there has to be enough fan support to put this back on SPEED or a channel that most people actually get. Did MXsports tie it's own arms in trying to make TV deals? I can't help but think so and I truly hope they find there way back to a focused package or I fear the worst for the American MX series.

@mgwest949
P.S. I am on that wagon with you, Pardner! That's how change happens. Speak your mind in logical perspective to those that look to market their product to the masses.
That's if they care about their market demographic, and why wouldn't they. They have invested a lot of time, energy and capital. They should be looking for maximum return on their investment. I do...
Mr-Mx, I am actually going to Michigan on Sunday for that track/mx day at Grattan on Monday.Then next weekend off to Connecticut to pick up a vintage Ninja,then Vintage days at Mid-Ohio the following week,plus trying to watch all the races.I'll be busy but I love it.
The guide doesn't show motocross on NBC on Sunday at 1:30. Hope the guide is wrong but it didn't show last time it was on NBC either.....at least not here in MI anyway.
What I meant is that it didn't air last time on NBC.
@toocoolracing, it's not on on NBC, it's on NBC Sports Network. It's a totally different cable channel that a lot of providers don't carry. I hope you have it and get to watch.
Meh, I'm a glass half empty kinda guy. The TV coverage could be way better. I'd like to think that if we don't complain then there won't be any motivation for the people behind the scenes to seek out improvements.
Can't we all just get along? @mgwest949 your argument is a valid one & I agree w/ you. I think having Bestwick as a commentator is a joke. Nothing against the guy, but wouldn't it make more sense having an actual MX guy manning that position? Reed does a very good job, & being he doesn't have too much racing time left, I think it would only be a natural progression for him. I like his insight, even though I do notice he avoids talking about Stewie (for obvious reasons). But maybe that would offset how much Emig & Sheheen DO talk about Stewie. The Sunday moto is on NBC, but mine, at least, is preempted by MLB.
worst mx coverage in years sorry NBC half the time no 250s at all ! no NBC on sunday for us !so no 250s again !!!!!!!!!
How much time is it to first race? Can´t figure out the time difference between Sweden and red bud (Chicago i think?). Does AM stand for "after midnight", and PM stand for "post midday"?
Mr-MX "Read My Lips" I am trackside!!!! ;~}}}}}

@Mr-MX "Just Kidding" I wish I was there. I am about as far away as you can get without treading water...
@Mr_MX; You've been a little cranky lately. Did you lose your Wooby. Did you lose your puppy. What's your problem. You'll just raise your blood pressure. Calm down and breathe in and out, in and out.
It's just the weather, dude. Get pissed about something worthwhile will ya. I don't want to be responsible for your blood pressure rising, anymore. Calm Down!
So, find your Wooby and be a good boy! Christmas is not that far away, and Santa is watching you (VERY) closely.
I wasnt a fan of Bestwicke commentating either till he just laid down the law regarding the differences between RD5 and stewart towards end of first moto.
My son and I are his brand new biggest fan's now!
Bestwicke purdy much hit the nail right on the head.
Oh yeah, Nice comment there on live tv there James Stewart.
I bet that Answer signature gear will be fying off the shelves tomorrow. NOT
I'll also bet that KTM sells somes bikes today.
@Swe93: The race starts in about 20 minutes...RedBud is in Buchannon, Michigan, so I believe it's Eastern Standard Time...hope this helps!
