IMPORTANT: Allisports Announces “Silverlight” Technology
Friday, May 18, 2012 | 7:40 PMAllisports.com has just announced a new package where you can check out different angles, and highlight clips that you can watch as the races are going on. Check out the official press release below.
1st motos will be televised live on FUEL TV again this year. Tune in starting at 4pm ET (1pm local time at Hangtown) for the coverage of the 450 Class, followed by the 250 Class.
For those without FUEL TV, both races will be streamed live on AlliSports.com. You can watch the live stream starting at 4:00pm ET. The live stream will run through the 1st motos in the 450 and 250 classes, and then - as an added bonus - will also feature the 2nd moto of WMX immediately after.
New this year, we have a brand-new player with an alternate camera angle and replayable highlights. We hope that motocross fans across the world enjoy the enhanced experience!
Now in order to run the new player, you will have to download a plug-in for your web browser called Microsoft Silverlight (CLICK HERE). We recommend downloading Microsoft Silverlight (CLICK HERE) ahead of time to make sure you don't encounter any issues on Saturday. The following browsers currently support Silverlight:
- 32-bit Internet Explorer 7, 8, 9 for Windows (2003, XP SP2 or greater, Vista, and Windows 7)
- 64-bit Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 SP1
- Firefox 3.6+ for Windows (2003, XP SP2 or greater, Vista, and Windows 7) and Macintosh (Intel only)
- Safari 4+ for Macintosh (Intel only)
- Chrome 12+ for Windows (2003, XP SP2 or greater, Vista, and Windows 7)
Fans in other countries will also be able to catch the live stream on AlliSports.com. The race starts at 4pm Eastern Standard Time in the USA, and if you are unsure what time that is in your timezone, visit this website to figure out your local time.

Cool!! I'll give it a try...why not??!!!
This is what Netflix uses FYI.
i make that 7in the morning in new zealand, can anyone confirm my math
lol.
sunday morning in nz
Any idea if this works on Android phones?
MotoMTBR33 it will not work on Android phones...or Linux platforms.
You can run most silverlight apps in linux via moonlight (mono). http://www.go-mono.com/moonlight/
Ha! This is going to be a hilarious tech failure, when the race starts and people try to connect. Biotch-o-meter will probably explode between racetime and Monday evening. DC better start drinking now.
What's up with only showing Moto one on Fuel? Do they have another UFC marathon or something?
Great move switching to a current generation streaming technology that has proven itself with the millions of Netflix subscribers. Since it also has support for pay per view experiences how about acknowledging that on demand internet streamed content experiences is what people want and offer that instead of obscure cable network channel offerings that will be joining dinosaurs in the not so distant future.
This means no iPad/iPhone/mobile anything. Bad, bad move.
1st moto's are live on TV anyway, not going to be dicking around with this nonsense. 2nd motos are what they should be airing off the mobile interwebs
Ok I am also gonna see if the download works, I hope so cause I dont have TV just my puter.
Lets all hope for some good safe racing. Also my the best Man or Woman win!!
LETS RACE!!!!
Ok I installed it how do I test it before the races start?
@arnd the prior solution used the flash player which is not supported on iPhone and iPad devices. There is support on iPhone and windows phone for Silverlight media playback. Going forward cutting over from Silverlight streaming technology to html5 video is a straight forward process once html5 capable browsers are everywhere.
@welker go to //silverlight.net/ | showcase to test installed player support for silverlight apps and streaming video
Many of the companies that do financial transactions (buying and selling stocks) in real time have used Silverlight for a long time. I have it on all of my systems here. For anyone that has not used it, it is the BOMB for live streaming of anything.
@arnd it looks like they are publishing a stream option for mobile devices and iPhone w/o Silverlight media player plugin support just without the adaptive stream rates, camera angle choices and 15sec jump back features that the silverlight stream provides. The link for that is on the //allisports.com/motocross/live page where it says "MOBILE AND IPAD USERS: Click here to the access the mobile and iPad friendly version of the stream".
