Cool video, Ping you look good on that Yamaha. What the heck, you might as well go to Lorettas' and race with RC! Come on you can do it.
Cool Vid, should have plugged 18, cause it doesn't work for 7. Unless, good dig, hmmm.
metal to metal
Sounds like someone is trying to give the brands flagship bike a chance to retain some sales....
Thats a poser bike get a husky like dowd
Not to say Race teck isnt great, but i have used really every suspension and i have to say Race Tech< RG3< PC< enzo. Just my 2 cents
Hmmm...second YZ 450 test in as many months...tell the truth RX...You got a call from Yamaha's legal department didn't you?
Ping lucky you didn't ride a YZ back in the day or you might have ended your career without a championship... :)
To sum it up,don't buy this bike,it has handling issues.
Has anyone EVER seen a test where they say this thing totally sucks...I could tell you what their going to say before its said. Also Yamaha pays RacerX big advertising dollers...nice try racer x to try to help out yamaha(2 tests in 2 weeks)...but we all know they suck.
I LOVE MY YZF450, the bike might not work for everyone but for me it WORKS. I've been on one for over a year now and haven't looked back.
That's prob because u never get out of 2nd gear
This would be the best indepth vid on the bike ive seen, nice job ping.
ive had my 2011 yz450 6 months now, im 70kg, honest riding abilty here in nz
would be xpert vet mx only 40 years old.
i love the bike , run stock settings 80 pecent of the time .
i do notice the light flighty feel at turn in but you get use to it. what i find interesting
is that ping says if you aggressive and ride over the front of the bike you may struggle.
that is my riding style in a nut shell, ive had to learn with this bike to be smooth not over ride this bike or the track, it just wont work as well . my last race day was my worst in some time and thats why! you can push it hard its not that bad, still turns better then the 09 but its very sensitive to changes in setup and riding style. its just one of those bikes that takes a little longer to dial in , i like that in a bike . its all part of the passion of finding what works for you. I will however be getting my forks and shocked reworked soon, clearly you need it bang on for yr weight and ability with this new frame .
just to add to that , im still riding as good as i have in the past on any other bike
ive had, i have some shiny plastic things that say so , so the bikes all i need.
mx is 80% rider!
To those thinking this is a Yamaha add, thats not the point. Why would Race Tech take a great handling bike and do this special with it. They took a bike that has known handling issues and tried to fix it. If they could get a pro rider to say that race tech fixed the issues that makes them look good.
My 2000 yz 250 is better than this bike
@Ride68--why be a dickhead?? The bike is fine,
hey ride68, meet me at any track in socal and i'll destroy you on my yzf450. I'll be riding this sunday, you choose the track.
