It will be my first supercross in Cowboy Stadium, seen them in the Cotton Bowl and Texas Stadium. Looking forward to the East lites, they ought to be chomping at the bit to get it started....GO BOGLE....no real long whoops, so maybe the KTM will work better .......GO DUNGEY.....
Looks awesome, really like the two whoop sections not too long, but not too short. Also looks like there could be a lot of good passing points!
@BD25 Don't put all that blame on the KTM.....RD needs to be a little more aggressive when attacking the track. Big RD fan though, really want him to win.
I dont think Ryan has not forgotten how to ride whoops, he looked alot faster thru them when on the RMZ...Sure the KTM will be just as good once they get this years trial and errors out of the way. Big Dungey fan, but to be honest he suprised me how well he has ridden it so far. New bike is like a new baby, may look perfect, and will be some days but its still goin poop his pants once and awhile first year. I look for big things from both KTM and Ryan Locomotive Dungey next year..... As for this year that little Firecracker on the #1 Kawasaki is goin to be hard to beat...
RD is a smart rider. Don't think the KTM was to blame last week, maybe lack of setup time for such a gnarly whoop section more so than bike design. RD just better be prepared for JW21 payback, it might be getting cashed in this week. Unlike RD to send someone to the ground being aggressive, but i did like to see him finally show signs of wanting a position bad enough to do something about it.
@BD25 Yea i definitely agree... i wasn't expecting a win in just two weeks. i see two more wins this year for RD, but i think the real test will be outdoors for RD. The only argument i have for the whoops is it seemed he was inconsistent. i went back and watched his heat race, and on some laps he was just as fast as reed and stewart, but other laps it was ugly to watch. I know he hasn't forgotten to ride the whoops, i just thought it was weird he wasn't switching up his line in the main.
As for JW. I like the kid, a lot of talent sitting there, but unfortunately this isn't west lites anymore... Can't leave the insides open anymore. Just hope he doesn't do anything stupid, and injure himself and somebody else.
It should be interesting, Reed's podium comments about not being Mr. Nice guy anymore and the fact he was able to hang with RV may really work to his favor. I figure Stewart is going to come out with a must win mentallity which will leave him on the ground. Remember when Windham was the headcase? now Stewart has it, one week he is brilliant the next he is on the ground.
Get well soon Trey and Ryan, I hope Shorty is good to go!
fast, gnarly start. again.
I dont think KTM is far off , it's just when they look in their little blk book to see what setting worked best for long set of whoops, that page does not have as much info as say Kawasaki , Honda ,or Suzuki. Remember at their level, one click either way can be all it takes to be faster/ slower, that when the base setting becomes really important. As for Dungey not being aggressive enough, he seems to pick his spots, I think he gets that from DeCoster, when Roger won all those titles he did not have a perfect season, he was often not the fastest guy,but he stayed close did his best and at the end of the year he was always in it. He won one of his championships when Willy Baur's Maico blew a spark plug at the last round, Baur had been faster all year but the title went to DeCoster. I think RD104 has taught Dungey what made him successful....will it work for Ryan....so far so good
Looks like a good track, but I think the lap times will be under a minute by 5 or 6 seconds. Maybe a little more..
yea considering that this bike was just built for Dungey, it's insane how quick they got it ready to compete at really high level. This bike finally was "ready to win", over its previous models. I don't blame RD5 for not wanting to push the limit of the bike until he knows that the setup will work week in week out. I guess its just gonna test the patience of an RD fan. Extremely happy to see a KTM prove all of its doubters wrong! gonna be a great season.
That is a unique looking start, and pretty short too. And 2 sets of whoops!
What's all the talk about JW payback to RD? If you ask me, and no one has by the way, the move JS put on JW the other week was waaaaaaaaaaay worse. I can't remember right now but did RD even touch JW? I don't think he did. I don't remember though.
I'm a big RD fan but he reminds me of someone that waits for opportunities whereas RV MAKES opportunities. I'm also one of those RD fans that might be losing patience. I just want to see him do good for himself and KTM even though I ride a yellow bike.
Best track so far, Go Barcia!
I don't think it had anything to do with contact, the only reason that pass has blown up is because one JW crashed, then two later on he claimed he got taken out. Personally saw nothing wrong with the move. I wouldn't even say JS move was dirty, you could see there was barely any contact. JW needs remember this isn't lites anymore.
@n2motox im a big RD fan, and i have been having trouble to face the fact that there was the possibility of him struggling at times. That KTM isn't far off, and once that bike is good and RD knows it. Watch out.
Go Bogle, I hope it's a good battle between him and Barcia.
