450 Moto 1 Report: Washougal
Saturday, July 23, 2011 | 5:15 PMLast week in Millville, Minnesota Ryan Dungey was able to take full advantage of the home track conditions as he tracked down Ryan Villopoto late in moto two to take his second overall of the season. As the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship headed to the Pacific Northwest many were questioning if Ryan Villopoto could put aside the demons of the past at his hometown track and take his first overall at Washougal.
Early on Villopoto looked right at home as he grabbed the early lead over Dungey, Trey Canard and Justin Brayton. Meanwhile series points leader Chad Reed, coming off the “crash heard round the world”, was buried in fourteenth.
Villopoto and Dungey quickly separated from Canard and began to set a blistering pace early in the race. While the Ryan’s were putting distance on Canard and the rest of the field, Reed was struggling to push his way inside the top-ten.
It was déjà vu all over again late in the race as Dungey once again was able to reel in Villopoto at the end of the moto. But unlike last week, when Villopoto took a digger handing the win over to Dungey, it was Dungey who made the late race mistake. Coming out of the whoops Dungey made a hard push to get around Villopoto but washed out in the following corner giving the moto one win to Villopoto.
Dungey would rebound and take home second, with Canard finishing off the podium spots in third. Brett Metcalfe had a strong ride to finish fourth. Andrew Short took home fifth with Justin Brayton, Chad Reed, Tommy Hahn, Mike Alessi and Michael Byrne rounding out the top-ten.

is canard running that tiny left radiator?
So is Reed scared now to race after last week? I know I would be. He only got 7th! Whoa....
go villo show reed and dungey who is the man
alezx9, dude dungey was rails, he'll be the one 2 watch next moto.
Calling it, Dungey with the stalk and pass in moto #2 for the win and overall.
I think that Reed's chiropractor earned his money last week.
We have heard that it is some sort of anomaly that the points leader after Red Bud does not win the title and now CR22 loses the red plate. No big deal, I still firmly believe that he will take this. Canard's presence scares me. He is kind of like "the force" or maybe the Holy Ghost. Everything will revolve around him.
Dungey wire to wire in the 2nd moto with RV 2nd and Reed 3rd
RV needs to dig deep and take control of the series. He could do it with another win, but it looks like Dungey has the upper hand not only towards the end of the races, but in the second motos as well.
Thats not a tiny left radiator, that his tiny manhood caused by Bible bashing.
I Predict the next moto that..............
1) I will have to look at the live timing to seee results
2) I will have to wait 5 hours to see it on cable TV that i pay $125.00 per month
3) I am pissed of by the lack of coverage by the AMA compared with the MX LifeTV i get for $40.00 per year to watch the GP,s on the internet.
Other than that your all Gay.
@Blockhead, how does Dungey have the upper hand?? He tried to run down Rv and tried a wild pass and went down while RV went wire to wire in first place?? RV was looking great on the track, and Dungey pushed and looked fast, but dont see were he has any upper hand on RV.
@Reedposuer, your an idiot, he is WAY too much a verteran to be scared at all, he had a bad start, and is probably kinda sore from the huge wipeout, you moron..
@Your all gay.Now that was funny
Snapping your femur twice in the same summer, while scrubbing too hard... The universe is trying to tell you something, Trey.
Oms told me Chad looked scared at the starting line when she observed him up close. Well the dude is almost a vet with a family so I can see him slowing down. He looked real tight and rigid in the 2nd moto especially when Metcalf was stalking him. Dungey is amped up now and really on the prowl so chalk up another outdoor title for him.
@How is Dungey got upper hand?? STFU retard. If you can't see that Dungey was going to pass RV in the first moto, and gave RV a serious whooping in the second moto, they you must be blind, too.
Idiot.
Tell us how you really feel Blockhead?? Anger issues maybe??
Man, Trey Canard and Ryan Dungy are putting God under a lot of pressure. He doesn´t know which of his two sheep to support. Sorry Trey, looks like RD got the nod this weekend. Tough break kid. Hope to see you back soon.
@Mike, why do you hate so much?? Your life really must suck. You suck, why dont you just go away or not post if you have nothing to do but spew hate, Hitler!!
@Mike. Me hate? Me hate? What are you smokin dude? I´m a lover. Ask you girl friend if you don´t believe me.LOL
Seriously, are all yanks so humorless?
I truly am sorry for Trey, although I must confess I´m really surprised the Big Guy slapped him down again, especially after all the free publicity he´s been getting from his #1 fan.
"Seriously, are all yanks so humorless?"
I'll take this one, guys.
The answer is yes. Yes we are.
Hey Whoops Blitzer, speak for yourself. I´ve got a great sense of humor and I think Mike´s a scream. If you can´t see he´s pulling your pissers, then you aren´t only humorless, but also a bit dim as well.
Just remember, we´re not here for a long time. We´re here for a good time. Lighten up dude.
