The Emerald City once again proved to be host to one of the most brutal tracks in Monster Energy Supercross. Aside from maybe Daytona, Qwest Field in Seattle provides some of the deepest, gnarliest ruts in the series. The change proved beneficial to riders like Kevin Windham (2nd) who had his best finish of the year, and outdoor specialists like Mike Alessi and Kyle Regal. But enough about the terrain, let's get to the lap charts brought to you by Motion Pro.
For the third consecutive week James Stewart laid down the fastest lap of the night with a 52.361 on lap four aboard his San Manuel Yamaha. After having some off-track issues before Dallas, Stewart has been on an absolute tear. After finishing fourth in Dallas Stewart has gone back-to-back in St. Louis and Seattle to close the point’s gap on Monster Energy Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto to nine with two rounds remaining.
After what seems like a year layoff the West coast boys were back in action in Seattle and did they have a tough track to come back to or what? Lucas Oil/Troy Lee Designs/Honda's Cole Seely made Seattle look like his practice track and absolutely dismantled the field en route to his second career victory. He also managed to set the fastest lap of the night (51.187) in the process.

Holeshot.....
Wow, Alessi has a faster lap than the Dunge......
JS's first 5 laps were the 52's!!! NO one else ever got into the 52's!! His last 2 laps were 1:01:8 and 1:04:6 and the 2 before that were 59's and he still won by a lot. He killed it this week. RV better work on his starts for the next 2 weeks!!
Alessi was FAST the first 8 laps!! He shocked the hell out of me this week!!
am I misreading or are the lites top times better than the big boy's?
Awfully quiet in here RV CR RD fans...NOT that I am a JS fan...just sayin...
I enjoy reading your posts BillC even if you are talking about a rider who isn't your rider you don't bag on them like all of these other idiots, keep em comin buddy
Based on the average lap times the 5 fastest SX riders on the night were: 1.Bubba 2.KW 3.Dunge 4.Reed 5.Poto
I tend to use average lap times to judge who is riding better on a given track. Bubba rode a good race, if he can keep it on two wheels from here on out he will be difficult to beat for the title. Kdub is the man, always fun to watch and listen to. Dungey will need better starts and aggressive passing if he wants a title shot, I wouldn't count on others mistakes at this point. Villopoto needs to keep things consistent and go for the top podium spot, but he also needs to be smart being in the drivers seat. Reed could be the one to really mix things up here. Bring on the last two rounds!!
Yes the 250's were faster than the big bikes. The track continued to get more rutted, tricky and difficult as the night went on.
Thanks ride2five, I know I sound rough around the edges lots of times but I try to judge them all the same way. I don't word things the best way either and some people take it the wrong way lots of times. The bottom line is I love this sport and admire and respect all of them even if I hope another wins.
@baileys, Yup RV needs a 2nd and a 3rd, If he can do that he is the champ know matter what everyone else does. IF JS wins out Whitch i would not bet aganst RV better get some better starts than he has been getting. For Reed or RD to win the title now I think they will need RV to have a real bad race and even then thay might not be able to stop JS. So My I am guessing either RV or JS for the title.
thanks for giving Tommy Weeck some recongnition on that lap time he killed it in the main, after falling over in the first corner came from last to 11th on the privateer honda!
I have been saying this for weeks. When Stewie is on his game, it is over. If he races the outdoors, it will be even more dominating. I cannot believe that some readers attempted to argue with me. And Villo is psyched out! However, the reason why no one seems to be able to "man up" to Stewie is still a mystery to me.
Beef Stewart I agree, JS is the fastest and has been for a few years, He does not always put it together for the title but for Raw speed he is it. As for Maning up to JS.. I don't see RV being scared of him, What do ya want him to do?? T bone JS? IMO RV is not bothered by pressure, I have never seen it any way.
Stewart is HUNGRY and on a mission.Even with all his ups and downs, he is clearly the best guy out there right now.... I think RV will rise up and take the series while james takes over the most wins
RV doesn't seem to have the same drive he had at the beginning of the season. Did Aldon get him TOO lean early on? Last year RV kept getting stronger. This year it seems like he may have peaked too early...
It would be nice to the position of each rider after making the fist lap. Obviously on a track like this you have a better chance of running faster laps when you're alone out front. That said, the person most to blame for not getting a good start is yourself.
Dub's avg laptime less than 2/10's of a second slower than JS7, importance of the holeshot defined, esp on a track you know is going to go south. Alessi ? Again, I don't think he found humor in that "Team Bultaco" blog last week lol. He really looked good in them ruts.
Fan of the sport, I talk a lame game from time to time playing the devil’s advocate in these threads. I wish the guys the best of luck. Almost seems like the rider with the most luck is going to win this title, the way the season has gone. Kinda funny that all the JS haters question JS being the “Fastest Rider on the Planet”, heard an interesting stat during this week’s broadcast that JS has lead the most lap this season by far. He maybe inconsistent, but that stat alone should prove he’s the fastest. 9 points in 2 races, too far out though. Go RV2!
yeah, if the lites get to go first on a good track then they should have to go the 20 laps and not 15. I can't see a good reason why these professionals (and usually younger) only go 15 and not 20 laps can anyone else? Either that or they should have their main after the big boys
Interesting that the top four in the 450's all set their fastest time on the same lap.
Stewart would have only finished 5th if he was in the 250s. No, I don't want to hear about the track being better for the 250s.
js7 would have points lead if we are going buy fastesy laptimes daaaaaa
It almost looks like James is going to take the title this year. If he takes it, then no one can be more deserving for the amount of accidents he went through. But at this stage nobody can count out the other three either. Salt Lake may have all the answers.
CAN JAMES STEWERT WIN OUT AND LET REED DUNGEY AND RV FIGHT IT OUT??? RV HAS THE SPEED, I THINK HE IS TRYING TO WIN THIS THING BY HANGING BACK AND HOPE THAT SOME ONE FALLS... GREAT RACING, AND I'M GLAD TO SEE EVERYONE HAS STOPPED BASHING THE RIDERS AND ENJOY THE RACING
Nice to see stewart dominate the field week after week again. I'm not sure villo can get second the next two weeks. it's looking more and more like a james stewart championship, even in his most inconsistent year of racing where he crashes more than ever. Good to see he is focused and still able to win after some brutal crashes.
Actually I noticed the dozers out there smoothing the track after the lites race, so the track was in pretty good shape when the big boys hit the dirt.
I know the track got bad quick with the 450's out there but you got to give the 250 guys some kudos for the times they put up. Especially Seely who was faster than JS fast time and overall average by one second on a 250!
I also would like to see the lites go 20 laps.
The big boys are making it interesting but lites guys are tearing it up also.
Kudos to Seely, Tomac, Cunningham and Tickle for showing us what’s to come in the future!
Keep it up guy's!
It's time for POTOCROSS ! RV2 can run with Bubba ( just take a look at Vegas 2009) And remember Glen Helen 2009-Bubba could only wish to have been there to try and run with that bullet train.
But Beef Stew is right, POTO is laying up! Been a RV fan since he road 80's in the NW. David Bailey said it at Glen Helen 2009. " No one can run with RV when he is on his game except-MAYBE-James Stewart.
Let's hope JS,RV,RD and CR all get up front at the start. What a race that will be. Like Jackals fighting for the kill :)
Some tracks are more suitible to a smaller displaced bike. The 250's handle better on a smaller tighter track and that is why the lap times are better.
who else loves seeing tomac on the podium? He looks like he's one of the only riders to truly be excited to be up there, wish i could see that kind of genuine enthusiasm out of some more riders, what an awesome season
I know I alway am a bout the last one to make a comment because od my schedule? A note to all ---Just find AMA live timing and click on results and from therer you can find all the times and lap charts it is very interesting.that is where chase gets his info to make this report. I am glad he goes to the trouble to sort it all aout though . Good job Chase!!!
Never FAILS typical DUMBASS comment by "JARDOUCHE" notice he didnt say where his favorite rider in the 450's would have ended up! SHUT YOUR MOUTH CLOWN!!!
well jairtime, ur gonna hear about the track being better for the 250's, because it was & thats the difference in the lap times, it's not rocket science, figure it out man. What do you think JS would have run on a fresh track, probably under 50 sec.
JAIRTIME you are an idiot and obviously no nothing about supercross/motocross

RV has no chance at a title this year. sitting out that heat race cost him big 25 points big. He would of had a nice cushy ride to the championship if he had been a man and got back on his bike instead of counting on winning the LCQ. After that night his confidence shot down to a amateur level and I don't think you will see another win or a championship for RV this year unfortunately. I got to hope Reed can take it with all the work he put in just to go racing and all the talk about him being washed up I hope he takes it so he can go out on top and Stewart can go out in handcuffs! LOL Florida should of made him stay in state for his case just like anyone else would just to prove a point and let the message sink in that he is just not all that Great! At least not as great as he thinks he is.
MXRACER972.... WOW thats a lot of stuff you said there. RV is done I don't buy for a SEC, Also he looked pretty dazed when he got up from the Jacksonville crash, May have slammed his head? I an not going to judge that, only he knows how hurt he was.
I would like to see Dungey win this thing, just to shut everybody up about last year. But it will take some luck I think.
