The BTOSports.com Racer X Podcast: St. Louis

Tuesday, April 12, 2011 | 5:20 PM
In this weeks BTOSports.com Racer X Podcast show, myself, birthday boy Weege and Ping talk about...errrr, wait. Ping wasn't around as he was checking on his Swiss alps cabin so we got everyone's favorite privateer Jason Thomas to join us. Thomas, who was actually doing motos at Reed's house when we called him stopped for long enough to talk about the St Louis race, Stewart's win, Reed's troubles, RV's plan from here on out and a whole bunch more.

I suggest you keep JT or have both Ping and JT. Ping usually sounds bothered on the podcast. Good show

I think you guys need to put your speculations together on a few things. Like when you said there is something up with RV. He did not need to run down Dungey at the risk of crashing and giving him more points. It was a calculated move to take the 3rd place podium finish and still be 5 points up. So why was that not one of your possibilities for him? It sure was for Dungey. This has been an awesome season but there has been a lot of focus on the wrong person(s). I think you guys should give credit where credit is due. The person in first place put himself in that position, if you don't ride up front you don't give yourself the opportunity to finish up front and I believe RC said it best when he said YOU WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS ON YOUR WORST NIGHTS BY MINIMIZING THE DAMAGE. Lets not forget the "IF GAME" had RV made the main in Jacksonville the whole points game would not be a issue. I am not a what if guy. I am sure that played mind games with RV for a little bit but he is riding smart and if you guys wanna bag on that than you need to do the same on Dungey for last season, when RV crashed out pushing it. I think he learned a lot from that mistake and is not gonna repeat it. That is a smart man in my book. OK I am getting down off the soap box now. Bring on Seattle!!!

WOW! Steve, will you stop drinking your Dungey Hatorade and enough about being a Dungey Hater! You said that "if Dungey wins the Championship he got lucky" but if Reed wins it he earned it because "Reed gave it his all." That's a lot of BS!

Whoever wins the championship worked for it! F##K this S##T about being lucky and wanting more. Reed's been more impressive, blah blah blah.

Your right LtdRater! Dungey is there because of being in the top three almost every weekend. If his chain didn't come off he would have a 20 point lead! I think that cost him the championship.

I agree that I'd rather see Reed win it than Dungey. Either way it'd be a good story, but Dungey hasn't really given us anything to cheer about this year. Yeah, anyone who wins it deserves it and all that, but his "championship-capturing machine" strategy happens to be a moderately lamer way to go about things. It never worked out for Chad, but it just might for Ryan.

Ricky Carmichael struck a perfect balance between the too-dangerous speed of James Stewart and the too-safe consistency of Chad Reed, becoming a machine in his own right. Villopoto seems ready to take his place.

In this new equation, Villopoto is the new Carmichael, Dungey is the new Reed, and Stewart is the old Stewart (but perhaps Canard can take his place.) Pourcel can be the new Windham and Weimer can be the new, uh....I guess he can just be Jake Weimer.
