Ryan Hughes is a d-bag.
His stuff is just a marketing ploy.
But, great vid, and good interview with excellent info!
D-bag or not, what he is saying is absolutely true and I've noticed it before. (This is coming from a A rider)
@ Nornor: Ryno is not a Dbag! If you had the chance to work with Ryno you would understand what he is talking about!!!! We have been fortunate to work with Ryno and he one of the few who actually knows what he is talking about! Take a moment and listen rather than bash! You actually might learn something.
nornor is right! Ryno is a d-bag. He needs to stay out of the Power stuff, and keep on blazin!
@rynostudent: if you'd take the time to read what I wrote.......I did say he gave excellent info....ummmm...do you know how to read?
Just because he is a d-bag doesn't mean he doesn't know wha he's talking about.
I definitely think Ryno knows what he is talking about, but he is however critiquing riders that are all much more successful than he ever was. With that being said, I think Ryno would be a great tool for any up and coming rider and I would love the chance to take some riding lessons from him.
That's an awesome interview. Great info and facts from Ryno.
Ryno is not a dbag by any means..he definately knows his stuff and like ryno students said if u paid any attention right there u probably would have learned something....and @DJ yeah that is true but no has ever been as fast as js7 but that doesnt mean he doesnt need someone to point out his mistakes, because he is def not perfect.. and just look at how james hired johnny O as his trainer. johnny O was never as fast as js7 but james said it himself that Johnny O has helped him out, notice how much smoother he is this year.
GREAT VID!!
This is a cool video
So, nornor, you say Ryno gave excellent info, yet he is, as you say, a "d-bag." On what do you base this assessment? Like many on this site, you're good at name-calling (is that a skill?) but you're not so hot with intelligence or facts (and that goes for you, too, blazer). If you follow other sports as well, you'd know that the best "players" don't always make the best coaches. Hughes was a MXdN champ, and a top rider in AMA and GP MX, as well as GNCC, but he has taken coaching to a higher level than most out there. "D-bag" is such an unattractive word, and something tells me that it's more apt regarding the user than the "target" - in this case, Ryan Hughes.
This is the best video I have ever seen on this site.
RacerX doing an analysis of technique? Who would have thought. Well done Weege. More please.
i bet ryan hughes is reading all the other comments and thinking "wow what a bunch of losers" dont worry man theres alot of dudes out here that think that interview was so sick and interesting. ive never heard it layed out like he did and its true. you know after he did this interview racerx had to go find some vids of for example dungey and james riding on their heels and sure enough they found footage of them actually riding on their heels. pretty cool stuff. i want to know what he thinks about pourcels riding style
I think any of the top riders would probably agree with Ryno's analysis. And just becuase someone wasn't the the best at the sport themselves has no bearing at all on whether or not they are a great teacher/coach. Look at any other sport, most of the best coaches have never reached the upper echelon of their sport!
Most of the top riders (except Tomac) don't pay attention to this guy.
Haven't you ever noticed that?
Ryno knows what he is talking about, good video! Racer X needs more quality videos like this.
tomac trains with him
Interesting interview, I've pretty much noticed all of these styles before, but never really understood the difference. I would love to see more of these technique analysis videos for sure.
All you CLUELESS HATERS can suck a big fat one. Ryno is the man and knows exactly what hes talking about.
He is so freaking hot, I wonder what technique he has in bed.
first off , f*ck the haters! ... Ryan Hughes knows what is talking about! I wish i could be trained by him!!!
Ryno has been at the top of the MX world and I would totally listen to anything the guy had to say, Other than Emig,Larocco, and Henry Ryno was the only other guy McGrath probably had worries about losing a race to. Id say thats enough status to say what he did in this video.
awesome interview with information that a lot of people dont normally think about. things to think about.
RV has the most potential for speed, interesting
I have had the pleasure of racing with Ryno and the guy is SICK. If you guys ever get the chance to get on the track with him you will see. You wont get to see him for long, but your mouths will drop open for the few seconds you do.
Not many people are good enough to be able to look at the best riders in the world, disect thier technique and find ways to make them even faster. Ryno can.
Whay a weallth of knowledge. His next prodige Amanda Mayheu next WMA champ.
He really is a Dbag. I've seen him cut the track more than once desperatly trying to make up ground back when he was riding a 125 KTM. No I can't prove it of course, but it's a fact and I am not the only person who's seen him do it. You don't read about that kind of stuff in magazines, it would blemish everyones hero worship.
rainmanx, did you ever see the video where Ryno says "I so so glad I broke my arm so I didn't have to ride the f*&kin; bike anymore" in reference to the KTM 125 in 2001?
Dude, he was in a sea of 250F, on one of the only 125's and getting pulled everywhere on a bike with no linkage that would not corner......
How can anyone take you seriously. How many factory rides have you had? How many MXdnations have you been a part of?
Did you also help develope the Honda CRF450?
Thought not....You are the Dbag.
moto, if you think that riding an inferior bike is an excuse to cheat, than you are a dbag too. And as far as all of your ramblings...what's your point? Yes I suck at racing, I've won one race my entire life. but I never give up and I've never cheated.
I just need to unlock my hips so I can squirt through things!
So many of you are buying into his sh%t. He's not saying anything new, just in a different way. (except the stupid unlock the hips, which means don't tighten up), and have a straight back, which means don't hunch!
If all you haters on here spent as much time riding and racing as you do hating...maybe you wouldn't be mid-pack novice riders with nothing to contribute to the moto society but negativity.
@stfu: like what you just wrote isn't negative: bwahhahahahhahahaha
Who cares if it's negative or positive? You can learn from either one.
Have you ever heard that you can learn from failure?
VIDEO WILL NOT PLAY?????
Spot on with James. I noticed long ago how he doesn't ride on the balls of his feet like most moto schools would instruct you to do. Gary Bailey preaches it.
Let's see. Am I going to be more inclined to listen to former top MX and off-roader Ryan Hughes (who, among other things, coached Jessica Patterson to her first WMA title in three years - after being smoked by Ashley Fiolek the previous two) or keyboard jockeys named Iamnotbuyingintoit and rainmanx? Yea, that's a tough call.
sef154, the king of the keyboard jockeys, has spoken..
you guys are selfish and stupid a pro rider gives free advice and you bash him seriously? get a life!!! SPODES!
