Yes this track looks better! I think the red arrow needs some competion lets add a blue arrow to make it a race!!! Then a Puple arrow takes a victory lap!!!!

That first turn looks eerily similar to the 1st turn at Houston (though the start straight looks longer)....are we going to have another huge pile up off the start?

Not much Red Arrow news this week. I think he might of cut the track by jumping the double in the corner after the spaced out triple thing. Looks like a sweet track. I think RA should pull a TP and bust a backflip off the finishline jump. Keep the hype going. He could always pull a mid season team switch and show up green or something.

Hope they do a good job guiding people after the start, they're only going to have maybe 20 seconds after the start before they need to have the foam blocks in place.

Love that bad ass double right out of the corner!

This track has some obstacles that will help passing but it will be one-lined. Especially since the dirt in San Diego is crap. They really need to go back to letting the riders take turns designing the tracks. It is longer than the last 4 track designs so that's good.

Seems like a lot of crossing over track sections
Hope it works out

I am suprised to see the Red Arrow back so soon after the wreck that was posted on VitalMX http://www.presentermedia.com/files/clipart/00002000/2751/red_arrow_down_crash_md_wm.jpg. the arrow got swapping in the whoops a bit.

Red Arrow is a tough kid. Hes young and has a great attitude. Im hearing rumors of this Blue Arrow coming down from Germany(same town as Orange Arrow). So we may be seeing a little competion soon for Big Red. I still say RA is the fastest arrow on the planet. And I think it will be good to have a few arrows out there so the track builders can see how one lined the track will be before the weekend. Red Arrow is always a fan favorite. It would be cool if he could do some cross track transfers during opening ceremonies too. Stay Up Red Dog!!!!

Looks loaded with rythum sections again. kinda like Oakland. They changed the design up a little, but just rythum section after rythum section again.

Profile Picture
Monsoon wrote: 5:48pm February 15, 2011

The first turn isnt the one to watch...its a sweeper; its the hard left that follows that will bunch em up..... way too much rythem and only one BIG LAUNCH!

Ehhhh.. I liked Oakland much better

Good thing an orange arrow wasn't out there bumping on a yellow arrow. Otherwise a blue arrow could have came along trying to get through the pack and hit the yellow arrow when yellow cased a jump. Oh well, its just racing, right, everyone?

Track will shrink a bit... it's supposed to rain from tomorrow through the weekend

Profile Picture
GWN wrote: 6:16pm February 15, 2011

Really? Nothing else in the 40 year old bag of tricks? Too much flow is a bad thing. Supercross originated from bringing Motocross into stadiums. Motocross has obstacles and option lines. These aren't obstacles; they are perfectly planned transitions. Get rid of the skate board park theme and go back to grass roots. If you build it, they (a tv audience) will come!

Looks to be a long, gnarly track. Maybe rain means Windham will keep it together this weekend. So close, dont know if he locked that front brake or what but he damn near rode it out.

Buzzkillington wrote: 6:32pm February 15, 2011

if they keep it this way (obviously there will be a few changes.. always are), this will be the best track yet

No matter what the track designers do people still complain. We have seen some of the best racing that we have seen in years. Both classes are stacked and there are alot of races left, and its only going to get better. Shut up about the track design and enjoy the racing.

Sure, the Red Arrow gets all the glory! All he does is shows up, makes one lap and he's done!!! Dude doesn't even train!

Profile Picture
GWN wrote: 7:16pm February 15, 2011

Wolfie: You act like the track designers create variety in their track designs with significant change form week to week. I hope I'm wrong and the track presents more options than I can see but the same obsticles are just recycled from week to week with very little real change or disruption of a natural flow resulting in "follow the leader'. You're right to say the field is deep and it will be a good race regardless but if you want to watch the same stuff over and over again, use your DVR. My criticism was meant to be constructive. If you took it any other way, my apology.

it dont rain in SD? and if it did KW you got another ticket to the front...it does look good from the keyboard though.

Profile Picture
Wolfie303 wrote: 8:00pm February 15, 2011

GWN: That was not meant just towards you, I do believe they did a good job of switching up the desgin alot this week. They have a limited amount of time to build the tracks, therefore repitition is bound to happen. I do believe that some things can be done to better the tracks and break up the natural flow. (remember the "walls" from a few seasons ago?) However I don't everyone complaining about it on here is going to do any good and gets quite annoying to read every week

This whole "bad" track thing might be a case of having to sample a dozen duds before the racers (and builders) find something they like. I would like to hear from someone besides us as to what the track builders are thinking or, is this a "thats whats in our budget" kind of dealio. Either way, I appreciate their efforts, "Good job guys". Now lets have a mudder.....

i think red arrow is the dirtiest arrow ever.
ginger arrow would have never done that back in 2003.
red arrow could not have hacked it back in the day and he needs a haircut

Nice trak lay out.. Much better than Houston.
On another note.. Seems that rain has been forecasted for this saturday... (http://www.lebigusa.com/sur-le-vif/pluie-a-san-diego-samedi.html)
I hope K-Dub will be fit... He will be a favorite!!!!

I'm not one who really complains about a track, but its just a boring rythum section track. One after another. the last one like this was the most boring race of the year. Moto racing isnt supposed to be a jump fest, timing rythum section after rythum section. Its boring.

Profile Picture
bd200 wrote: 10:25am February 16, 2011

Plus they cross the start straight again pretty quickly, if there is a pile-up. It will result in red-flagging the start. And people will complain again. Its about safety.

Jason wrote: 10:33am February 16, 2011

Some week they should make one long whoop section - the whole length of the stadium on the long side to make it interesting and allow for some real passing.

Wow. Looks like Reed will finally be able to pass. This is an awesome start, shouldn't be any pileups whatsoever. I see 4 good passing spots, and a possible cheater line by the BOAT... check it out

Whoops_Blitzer wrote: 2:05am February 17, 2011

I'm sure I don't speak for everyone, but I wouldn't mind watching a race with no jumps at all. Maybe not even whoops. Lap times would go down a lot, but the track wouldn't need to be as wide so it could snake all over the stadium. I'm exciting myself thinking about it.

Oh, and I'm afraid the Red Arrow joke is going to die a slow and painful death at this rate. Also, and I'd appreciate it if, instead of giving it more style, they just slowed it down to a more realistic pace. Please?

Kip wrote: 3:05pm February 17, 2011

The track crosses back over the first turn too quickly. I predict a few red flags.

Profile Picture
theOriginalB wrote: 4:21pm February 17, 2011

3 things...
agree with having the arrow on a realistic pace,
is it going to be 20 1/2 laps or 19 1/2 laps,
if they shove that boat into that one corner then they could say go ahead and cut the track if you want to jump the boat, or would that be the equivalent of "jumping the shark" ??? ifyouknowhatimsayin'
