The 2023 Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch is in full swing. Following yesterday’s practice, the first motos began bright and early this morning at 7:30 a.m. CDT in Tennessee. If you are at the Ranch, have fun. Race 1 – Vet (30+)
Moto 1 winner: #2 Broc Peterson (Honda)
In the first moto at Loretta Lynn's Ranch for the 2023 Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, #2 Broc Peterson (Honda) takes the race win in the Vet (30+) Class. Race 2 - 450 B
Moto 1 Winner: #90 Nicolas Israel (GasGas)
#90 Nicolas Israel (GasGas) claimed the moto win as #38 Wyatt McGrath (Kawasaki) had a fast lap of 1:56.610 on the second lap (first full lap). McGrath finished the moto eighth. Check out the top 20 results below, or view the full race results here.
Race 3 – 125 C
Moto 1 Winner: #83 Makai Olerich (KTM)

Moto 1 Winner: #58 Darren Pine (GasGas)

Race 5 – 65cc (7-9) Limited
Moto 1 Winner: #10 Kade Nightingale (Yamaha)
#10 Kade Nightingale (Yamaha) claimed the moto win as #4 Jaydin Smart (Cobra) fought back from a first-turn crash to finish second place. Smart's 2:17.949 on the sixth lap was the fastest lap of the moto. lap. Check out the top 20 results below, or view the full race results here.
Race 6 – Senior (40+)
Moto 1 Winner: #1 Mike Brown (KTM)
Our Kris Keefer got the holeshot and had the race lead until he tipped over and lost it. Mike Brown took over the race lead and checked out, taking the moto win with ease and a 20.998-second lead over second-place Jeff Emig as Keefer came through third. Brown's 1:59.948 on the second lap (first full lap) was the fastest lap of the moto.
After the race, Brown stated he wants to race Loretta Lynn’s next year and then try to qualify for a round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship!

Race 7 – Mini Sr. 2 (13-15)
Moto 1 Winner: #27 Vincent Wey (Husqvarna)
#27 Vincent Wey (Husqvarna) claimed the moto win.#22 Jonathan Getz (GasGas) had the fastest lap of the moto, a 2:07.057 on the third lap. Getz finished second. Check out the top 20 results below, or view the full race results here.
Race 8 – 450 C
Moto 1 Winner: #79 Chase Haynes (Kawasaki)

Moto 1 Winner: #41 Daxton Bennick (Yamaha)
#37 Mitchell Frantz (Yamaha) got the holeshot but it was #34 Bryce Shelly (Yamaha) who took over the race lead. #41 Daxton Bennick had gotten around #61 Noah Viney (Honda) and #48 Keegan Rowley (Yamaha) as Shelly led for a little until he was passed by Bennick when the #34 machine made a mistake in the long, right-hand sand turn before the finish line. Bennick took over the race lead as #76 Avery Long (Yamaha), #15 Gavin Towers (Yamaha), and #51 Mark Fineis (GasGas) charged into the top ten. Long made his way into third place then second place as Fineis went after Towers for fourth. Bennick cruised to a 12-second victory ahead of Long as Ross held on for an impressive third-place over Fineis, Towers, and #29 Julien Beaumer (KTM), who was well outside the top 15 early. Shelly came through seventh, followed by Viney, #75 Evan Ferry (Yamaha), who was inside the top three in the early stages of the race, and #42 Heath Harrison (Honda), who passed #47 Lux Turner (GasGas) on the last lap to take tenth place.
Bennick put down a 1:55.757 on the fourth lap of the moto for the fastest lap of the race.
Long (second place finish) came through 16th on the first lap, as Fineis (fourth place finish) came through 24th (!) on the first lap. Great ride by both guys.

Race 9 – 250 B Limited
Moto 1 Winner: #32 Leum Oehlhof (Yamaha)
#32 Leum Oehlhof (Yamaha) claimed the race win with a 9.527-second advantage over #75 Jeremy Fappani (KTM), who charged from outside the top 20 (officially 24th after one lap!). Check out the top 20 results below, or view the full race results here.

Moto 1 Winner: #70 Jackson Vick (KTM)

Moto 1 Winner: #13 Jayce Wolf (KTM)

Moto 1 Winner: #47 Jeff Emig (Husqvarna)

250 B
Moto 1 Winner: #66 Casey Cochran (Husqvarna)
#45 Hayes Edwards (Yamaha) grabbed the holeshot but #66 Casey Cochran (Husqvarna) quickly jumped to the lead as #26 Logan Best went down in the second turn. Cochran checked out as #20 Aden Keefer (Kawasaki) settled into second. #30 Drew Adams (Kawasaki) got by Keefer to take over second place, then #81 Enzo Temmerman (Kawasaki) and #37 Landin Pepperd (GasGas) both got by Keefer as well, despite a strong ride from the #20. #27 Krystian Janik (Kawasaki) and Pepperd, then Keefer also, all had a mistake and tip over of their own. Cochran cruised to the race win by 20.360 seconds over Adams. Best charged to an eighth-place finish in a strong comeback ride. Cochran's 1:55.439 was the fastest lap of the moto.

Moto 1 Winner: #42 Heath Harrison (Honda)

Race 15 – 250 C
Moto 1 winner: #22 Damion Holmes (Husqvarna)
Robert Weiss pulled the holeshot in the first 250 C moto before going down a couple of times. Damion Holmes took over the lead quickly and stayed solid to manage his lead and take home the win.
Race 16 - WMX
Moto 1 Winner: #21 Kyleigh Stallings (Kawasaki)
Once again, the WMX class delivers with some of the best racing of the day. Brianna Scheltema took off with the holeshot, before Kyleigh Stallings quickly took over the lead. Lachlan Turner kept the pressure on and the two passed each other multiple times. Every time it looked like Turner had it, Stallings somehow found her way back around. At one point they swapped the lead twice in the same turn. Sophia Phelps who had a bad start made her way up to third and then stayed steady until two laps to go when she put on a late moto charge and passed Turner and pulled right up on the rear wheel of Stallings but fell just short of a moto win. Honorary mention, WMX legend Ashley Fiolek showed back up to the ranch after years away from racing, on a YZ 125 and finished in 7th.
Race 17 – College (18-24)
Moto 1 winner: #74 Jaxon Pascal (Honda)
After a red flag due to multiple riders getting caught in the gate, Jaxon Pascal got out to an early lead. Trevin Nelson made it interesting by closing the gap to 1.601 at the end, but Pascal who has never led a lap at this race before this moto, was able to keep him at bay.
Micro 1 (4-6) Shaft Dr LTD
Moto 1 winner: #11 Ollie Johnson (Yamaha)
#11 Ollie Johnson claimed the race win over #89 Brody Jones and #21 Brody Langdon.
Micro-E (4-7) Limited
Moto 1 winner: #29 Levi Meyer (KTM)
#29 Levi Meyer (KTM) claimed the race win over #25 Justus Pearston (Cobra) and #73 Kaverick Stewart (GasGas).
Micro 2 (4-6) Limited
Moto 1 winner: #7 Kameron Buckman (Cobra)
#7 Kameron Buckman claimed the race win over #16 Edwin Meyer and #23 Barrett Counts.
Micro 3 (7-8) Limited
Moto 1 winner: #96 Abshur Hall (Cobra)
In one of the closet finishes of the day, #96 Abshur Hall (Cobra) claimed the race win over #55 Kannon Zabojnik (Cobra) by just 1.262 seconds.
