Remember people that they combine both the 250 and 450 together for a superfinal.Herlings got 7th.So much for the 250's being faster. He was 4th for a while.Classes were scored separatly./
Track pics looked to be a higher speed venue.. Desalle's Zook's xtra 100cc looks to have helped over Tony "the tooths" 350. Herlings is a phenom. Period. Bad knee or not,he gets it done..
When is he coming to the US?
Who cares if he comes or not.The last three 250 World Champs haven't been able to get it done.Moosecan and Roczen are faster than him. This years 250 GP class is the weakest talent wise that ever been besides him.Maybe when Roczen moves up KTM will bring him over.
Herling has said he doesn't want to come to the states because it was never a goal of his. I bet he would have a hard time with his character traits.
You're really boring. I don't know how these people can keep talking about "whether Herlings comes to the US or not". This is so pathetic. I thought the comments here were about the race. If you have nothing to say, just don't write anything. Herlings has been doing his job, what's the problem?
@Manes. It's not just one problem. More like several, which make people like me love coming on here to rub it in. Jealousy, false pride, envy, ignorance, hate, and low IQ, are all displayed in the negative anti European mindset of some of the inbred hillbillies who comment on here.
I know it's hard for you guys to grasp this, but 70% of the Euro GP fans know practically nothing about American racing. They see the GP's as something American's are too afraid to tackle. Afterall, it is called the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, so anyone who wants to become the best in the eyes of the WORLD, should be competing in them. Can you guys understand this? They see American racing as a national series, which it is. A very good national series I grant you, but a national series nevertheless.
The fact you consider the MXON such a big deal, makes me wonder why you have so little respect for riders outside America. If you think of yourselves as so great because you sometimes win a lobsided competition like the nations, surely you would feel even more so were your riders to become world champions?
It's time you guys got rid of the John Kochinski mindset, you know, "If ya ain't American, ya ain't shit". It only makes us laugh at you.
Kocinsky..I still have his poster on my room, riding a Cagiva, good times.
Anyway, I am talking about Italy here, I think everybody knows about US motocross, all the main magazines talk about it deeply.
Just leave Herlings alone, he has never said anything bad about US, leave him alone
Why would he want to come here is my question. He can make more money in riding the GPs over riding sx/mx in the states. He'll be more popular over in Europe vs the USA. Kinda like why there isn't a line of American top talent waiting to go to Europe. All I know is every pro in the US and Europe is faster than me.
I don't think you could find two american moto x fans that are jeolous of anything across the pond. Second why all the crap about J H he's a young kid that rides the heck out of a mx bike cut him some rope. This is not J Law. If it were we would still be searcing for him in the Belgum sand. But Serouslt What kind of money do the top GP riders make?
If the kid is so good I'd like to see him ride which is why I asked the question. Please, Euromike, explain to me what we are jealous of?
Clearly you've got a chip on your shoulder by posting that long of a rant. I guess fred struck a nerve by saying the last 3 250 world champs haven't been able to get it done. Those are the facts though. How many times have these "world champions" come over here and won championships against the best? It actually is something pretty rare. American being the premiere place for professional motocross isn't even up for debate. That ship sailed over 20 years ago.
Perhaps you are the one that is jealous seeing how you have found your way onto an American motocross website.
By the way, Euromike, Supercross is a "world championship". I guess the FIM forgot to tell you. Yeah you will probably laugh at that but it's okay... we laugh at the term "world championship" too.
Great point 731Chopper.I forgot that SX is a worldchampionship.I guess thats how much it means to us.
If you have time, make this comparison :
· Number of World MX/SX titles won by American riders
· Number of AMA MX/SX titles won by non-American riders
You're not the best in the World. You only win the MxdN because the format is incredibly unfair. Let's make it like the Ryder cup (golf, DUH) : the USA vs the World. Make a team of 15 riders and the rest of the World will make a team of 15 too. I'm damn sure you won't win it. Even with an intercontinental format (Americas vs Europe vs Africa vs Asia vs Oceania), you wouldn't be able to win it. The amount of racing licenses of the USA alone is bigger than the amount of licenses in Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and the UK TOGETHER. You have a ton more riders to choose from, that plain and simple
I have been saying this for years.
Anyway, I have to admit that the MX2 is very poor this year, even last year it was but in 2013 is even worse. The race was so boring, Herling is much faster than anybody else. MX1 was good racing but I'd wait for Frossard, Paulin and other good riders to show up front.
But when you have a championship with Reed, Stewart, Dungey, Canard, Barcia, Villopoto, Tomac, Wilson, Pourcel (on RCH Suzuki), well, no doubt the level must be higher than that of the MX1. But if you take 2012, after Stewart got injured, the 450 National championship was damn boring. Then every year there are the same tracks, they never changed them, which is strange to me, since there are so many incredible tracks in USA. In Italy we change track almost every year.
So you are upset that our Country is bigger than yours and we have a greater population to choose from? By that logic shouldn't China be dominating?
And since the "World Supercross Championship" was created in 2003 8 out of the 10 championships were won by an American. The other 2 were both won by Chad Reed.
American riders don't go to Europe to race the GPs unless their career here is dead. It is the opposite for most riders who become "world champion" and then come to America to advance their skills and career. At least that is what they say when they get here. All of the "world champions" always say that they came here to compete against the best in the world and see if they can win a championship here. I'm not saying all of the European riders suck and American riders are better than all of them. I know there have been legends in Europe who never came over here to compete but the fact of the matter is that as a whole, American motocross is the top level of the sport. IndyCar is amazing but it isn't Formula 1. Sorry but you guys are the IndyCar.
I'll give the Euros this, most of their tracks look pretty cool.
Jeez this Euro versus US arguement is pretty dull. What is it ground hog day? Euro mike is way off mark . everybody i talk to at the races over here(UK and France), knows what is going on stateside. Anyone who has raced in the states and european will know that the racing is very diferent either side of the Pnd. american racing is shorter , generally the tracks are like Freeways in comparison to Euro tracks ,, but American motocross tends to be more intense. This is a generalisation . The Mx 1 class is brutal and unforgiving , but the extra length of the races and the highly technical nature of the gp tracks generally mean that the races are less dynamic. Roczen will win a good couple of indoor and outdoor championships; Herlings will go to the states at some point and he will be a top five guy to start with , then he will go to unadilla and wipe the floor with everybody. Then he will start to win . its just adjustment to tracks , time , racing culture, weather, and a few other things to boot. Btw my tip is Tommy Searle to be Mx1 World champion within three years. id love to see him in the States again , as he got well and truely screwed by KTm amongst others last time. I would love to see some of the American riders , do a couple of seasons. Villapoto would win a World Championship within two years I feel.
@die996- make a list of U.S. top comtenders who went to GPs to race. Big fat zero. Make a list of GP champions that can to state to race. To many to list. The GPs is a farm league. On top of it when GP racers come over here they get the same treatment our top guys get. They get the best bikes (Procircuit for example).
I would want to stay over and win everything I could in the G.P's. Everts had the
right idea. You are treated like a King living the life of an F1 star. Nobody has a clue who Villipoto or Dungey is here (outside of the moto world). Herlings would hold his own here, but why bother. The US is the place to compare to the best
guys, but I don't think it's that big of a deal anymore.
Everts wanted to race in the states full time, but followed advice of his manager which was it is better to be a big fish in a small pond then a small fish in a big pond. Everts admitted later that he made the right chioce.
