Bob Hannah's got a lot of opinions about a lot of things and in this BTOSports.com Racer X Podcast presented by Thor MX, I try to get those opinions out of him. We touch on getting passed by RV in the career win list, his ranking on the Racer X Top 30 SX list, the tracks, Rollerball and much, much more.

Best PODCAST EVER - these kids racing nowadays could learn a lot from hit. Especially in regards to personality and self accountability.

Great interview. Hannah is awesome. The Ted Nugent of motocross. "If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle", classic stuff.

We also share the same opinion about trainers and managers. I feel vindicated.

@texag--I give Hannah WAAAAY more respect than I ever would to the draft dodging Ted Nugent.. Nugent is a draft dodging coward..Hannah is awesome..He speaks his mind for sure, but isnt insulting about anything either..

bd200 if you ever felt insulted by Uncle Ted you are probably on the wrong side of the issue. He and the Hurricane share many traits other than simply being outspoken. Both are right of Rush and more importantly after being stars in their prime have been even more successful in "retirement". Ted is also extremely charitable and has done far more for those in uniform than you ever thought about I'm guessing.

Whoa...Bravo, Bravo, Bravo! Thank You!
I am proud to admit that I was (that) guy camping out by the mailbox in '76 waiting for the postman to deliver, Cycle News (West), to (read) how Bob and Roger did, "On Any Sunday." And I don't mean the movie, I mean "Any-Track USA." Looking back, that was such an amazing era, if not for only being the proverbial fly on the evolutionary wall to experience the raise of American Motocross in a totally dominating European (in origin) sport, and is great to have those (real-time) memories buried somewhere amongst the cobwebs. Times that you don't have to pick up a history book to inform yourself of, and/or about.
And now, after nearly 40 years later, to listen to (my) reason to live and breathe in those days, talk candidly about how (He) and Roger DeCoster battled at Unadilla, or the practice tracks in Belguim, or anywhere in the universe for that matter, is damn close to priceless, in my opinion.
I can honestly say; "That (One Hour) spent listening to Steve Matthes interview Bob Hannah is about the most enjoyable interview I have listened to, in the last half century, give or take." Ha!
This is most definitely a keeper! I want to be able to listen to, on demand, for a very, very long time...At least for another half century, anyway.

Thanks Steve, thanks Bob and thanks BTO/RacerX for this fantastic moment in time you made possible for (us) mortals of the world.
Good On You All !!!

@texag--I have never been insulted by Ted or his stance on issues.. What insults the men in uniform is that he is a draft dodger.. He admitted to it years ago.. thought it was funny then, now refuses to discuss it.. He admitted in an interview in 1979 that he purposly dodged the draft.. When he recieved his last draft notice, he was to go to the reporting station, he purposly did not shower for a month before hand, and then Sh!t his pants and then p!ssed his pants right before meeting with the Sargent.. So he wouldnt get inducted into the Army, and he dropped acid right before he went in, "Just to see the look on his face" according to Ted.. He admitted to all of this in the interview.. To me that makes him a coward, and an insult to every man and woman serving today.. And he has the balls to call himself a Patriot now.. Makes me sick

Sorry for venting, but couldnt help it this time....
@texag--You dont know me or anything I may have done in life, so please dont throw insults when yopu dont know anything about me..

Such an awesome listen. Love the fact he has no filter it was refreshing to hear his no filter perspective. Could listen to him talk racing or anything for that matter all day long. They should pay him a boat load of money to be on the TV broadcasts. Or, better yet, pay him to have a column on racer x. His opinions and feed back are priceless. Keep em coming.

@bd200 if you only understood the lies and deceipt that led us to Vietnam you might have dodged the draft too...obviously I'm too young to have actually been in that war but the Gulf of Tonken incident is just the tip of the ice-berg in regards to that false flag war. I applaud Ted as well!! It does not mean you a coward when you refuse to fight for an unjust cause - to me it makes you a patriot. FAR TOO MANY of our brothers and sons have died for the benefit of the "elite" - enogh is enough.
Who is your war here John McCain - all he did was get shot down - is that what makes him respected a "Hero" ? - what has he done post war except for advocate more - he was almost a literal failure at West-Point as is he in his career as a Senator - spending our money to bomb more poor people...

@dinosaurmedia--I understand everything about Vietnam---i am old enough to know about it.. But I cannot give a draft dodging coward the same respect as someone who did their duty when called upon.. Ted now calls himself this big "American Patriot" and bad-mouths Democrats just for being a Democrat, and alot of those guys served this country and didnt lie and cheat to get out of it like a coward.. Ted is a hypocrite..Sorry--and a coward and an Un-American draft dodger.. He did not stand up for an unjust cause--he never protested or marched ar tried to stand up for nothing.. In the interview he never mentioned the war as being unjust..just that he didnt want to go to war.. he said "I wanted to party and play my music" I have the interview, and have read it a million times.. (not really but several) He is now a big blowhard who talks a big game because he is just a radical loudmouth now.. It just makes me sick to hear him call himself an "American Patriot" and then talk about taking out a terrorist or something..

SuperSXFanMan/StarPlaya4Life----There is one thing we agree on.. That is an insult to Bob Hannah...as much as I liked alot of Ted's music, he is a draft dodging blowhard....Bob Hannah is a bad dude!!!

Bob Hannah is awesome, Ted Nugent's music is awesome, Ted Nugent himself is not awesome. Entertaining, yes, but not awesome.

I think they should put The Hurricane in the booth instead of Jeff or RC. Might as well throw Ralph out while they're at it. I think Bob could find enough stuff to talk about on his own. Then we could really get some good commentary going. I be the ratings would get better too.

Bob hannah was from my era and i always loved the way he went about his business. Probably the best single performance I ever witnessed was the second moto at High Point in 83 i believe when it was a total mudfest and he lapped the entire field. I could write several pargraphs trying to describe it...would not do it justice! As for Uncle Ted? i love Uncle Ted,been to several of his shows. I prefer the shows now to his early ones when all he did was mess up his songs with the F bomb. Not aware of the draft dodge stuff, never read the interview. If he did it in 79,that was probably about the height of his popularity. If the interview was referring to the 60's...I would probably give him a bit of a pass because he was a punk kid who said and did things that he likely regrets. I know i did my share of stupid punk kid stuff. Not an attempt to change anyones mind about Ted...I think he does love America.

webman.......i'm 47 and when iwas a kid i used to ride around the farm on my sl 100 pretending i was marty smith!! so i wasnt a hannah fan back then, just bc he knocked my hero off the top of the mt. but i started racing in'80 and as i got older, i became a huge hannah fan, and actually got to race with(leave the gate with anyways) him in the mid-late eighties a few times. and that gatorback incident makes me laugh today, cause BH sure intimadated the hell outta me that day.......he was like god to me. as i look back, its pretty cool that i raced on the same track with the guy who took down my childhood hero and became this sports true icon. i always enjoy hearing what the hurricane has to say !
