Where are the guys like pitbull and others that said JS WILL NEVER WIN AGAIN?? LOL some people!!
another race with almost no passing!!
I knew JS7 was going to win a few motos but, his days of dominance seem to be over. Then again, this class is too packed to have one rider straight up dominating the championship!
In a few hours this thread will be full of "RV purposly didn't want to win" , mark my words lol. Please spare us.
Another boring race, thats all Ive got.
James showed he still has the speed to win! No one should have ever doubted that, as he did not forget how to ride a dirt bike...It is good to see another winner take the top step...5 winners 8 races, with 2 or 3 guys who could still get their first win of the season..
Last year every one said the racing was boring and predictable due to all the injuries, so they have tamed the tracks a bit, to keep riders safe...Now fans say the racing is boring, because the tracks, to easy, don't separate the riders and give places to pass...
We have a healthy field, 10 guys in qualifying with in the same second, riders separated by mere tenths and hundredths of a sec, that is parity. It is hard to make up time let alone pass someone with out a mistake from them. Guys this is what we wanted...
I, for one, do not find the racing boring..We are watching the best riders in the world doing things on a motorcycle that are amazing! We seem to take it for granted, in stead of enjoying the talent of these riders.
As fans we want our cake and to eat it to...longer mains, tougher tracks, bar banging, close racing, lots of passing and ten riders who can win...If all the riders stay healthy through show that is Supercross, we will have that, in what I call the Great Outdoors!!!
@BillC-- Another one-lined track that got dry and slick, just like the others.. @BillC, I know, you and everyone else knows I am not a big Stewart fan, (my issue with him is mostly his fans ignorence) but even myself recognized he can still win races..He still has speed.. Its as funny as some guys already saying Reed is done, mostly the big Stewart fans, but the guy is 5th in points in one of the most stacked fields ever, and is coming off a major knee injury, he still isnt 100% yet and is doing fine..
I would hate to work for the media covering SX. You have to pump up how great the racing is week after week when really it is one-lined, slippery, no passing action. I am to the point where I tape it and fast forward the heats after two laps, then FF to the mains. After a couple laps it's back to the FF button. If a race was coming to my hometown I don't think I would be spending the $$$$ to go - and I'm a fan.
Last weeks ATL Rev Up - I actually picked the top 3 to be JS7, RV and Saps...I got it right!!!...Just didnt predict the finish order....Good ride for James and great to see him back on the podium, even better making his first trip to the podium all year and going to the top....Does this mean he is going to go out and dominate ...of course not......but he is where he should be in my opinion - challenging for wins and anyone who says the dude is washed up, out of shape,etc...obviously James is doing the work.....The guys are all so close in lap times...too close...which is in result of the track design, but that is not going to change.
JS7 and RV are the two guys I pull for most, but RV's comments on the podium didnt really make sense to me..... Sure, he isnt worried about "James" , but finishing second while Saps is 3rd --- You would think that is the time to strike, ...nail a win and get that 5 points instead of only 2 over Saps.....If RV is going to close that point gap, he needs to grab them on nights like ATL...Dungey lost more points to Saps and RV passed Dungey and is now 4 points ahead of RD5 in second.....I was just suprised RV didnt go for it, but flipside is he beat Saps and gained a few points...didnt push it or go down..... Reed????? I said in on the Tomac 450 video....he'll be another Honda in front of Reed...and look what happend.. Barcia, Carnard and Tomac all finished ahead of Reed...kind of enjoyed watching that trainwreck....
I guess Easy, hard slick tracks keep the boys from pushing to hard. This must be FELD's answer to last years injury problem that we had.
@AGMAN - For the most part, the heats have been great! You're can't get the upmost dramatic race every single time the riders line up, but speculating and bench racing rarely get old.
@fred - Here's a Between The Moto with Dirt Wurx's Rich Winkler. He talks about that in part of the interview. http://www.racerxonline.com/2013/01/31/btm-dirt-wurx-rich-winkler
bd25 yes we have lots of guys on pace but the suspense of who is going to win is over after the 3rd turn. You know what I mean??
.I laugh every week when guy are guessing who will win, i say tell me who will holeshot and it's not a guess LOL
BillC with the tracks as they are, combined with the depth of field, the start has become all important..The only suspense is if the rider can ride mistake free for 20 laps..
Where the racing may not have as much passing as in the old days my hat is still off to the riders, they are very talented and I can not be bored watching them do things with ease, I can only do in my dreams..
..Supercross has always been more show than racing, to me, so I accept what I see and am glad to be entertained, while I wait for the true racing season to begin..If we have this healthy group of riders when the show is over, the Great Outdoors will be incredible to behold...
Thanks Jordan I'll check that out.Your picture looks like Tickle from moonshiners.haha
