Making Moves: Chisholm Filling in for GrantThursday, February 21, 2013 | 8:30 AM
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Kyle Chisholm will join the Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX Team beginning this Saturday for round eight of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship in Atlanta, Ga. Chisholm, already riding a Yamaha in the series will substitute for Josh Grant.
Grant was injured at the third Anaheim round of the tour suffering a broken ankle and a shoulder contusion. Grant heroically attempted to race the previous two rounds but was unable to due to the pain his shoulder was generating. Upon reevaluation by his doctors it was found that a rare condition was present within the shoulder that requires surgery to correct. Grant will return to racing once he is fully recovered and fit for competition.
“Josh showed a ton of heart trying to ride through this shoulder injury, not to mention his ankle,” said team owner Coy Gibbs. “His health is the main concern, he should be 100 percent for the outdoors. In the meantime we are excited to have Kyle come on board. He was available and already familiar with the Yamaha so it’s a perfect fit,” Gibbs added.
"I am really excited. I can't thank Jeremy, Coy and the whole JGRMX team enough for giving me this opportunity! I can't wait to get on the bike, get out there and do my best! I also want to wish Josh all the best on his recovery!" said Chisholm.Kyle will join Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX rider Justin Brayton this Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga. SPEED will air the entire race live starting at 7:30 p.m. (EST). Supercross Live will begin streaming from Atlanta at 2:00 p.m. (EST) on supercrossonline.com.
