Looks like Reed got into Millsaps first, then went across the whoops into Grant next, then down..What a mess, they shut off the footage, probably to censor all the cussing and yelling going on after..LOL!!!!!

The 17 sec mark is priceless, RV, DM & JB10 properly entering/exiting the 180 and Reed is coming in hot and straight, with help from Grant.

anyone still think Grant was the cause?? Reed went from one side of the track to the middle then back to the right side!!

bumm deal for all....exciting but a bummer.... finger pointing blame is lame. Unfortunately Reed got loose like all riders do and it cost a few other guys. It sucks...its happens....thats racing.....I think after Reed bumps off Milsaps and drifts to the right, he appears to put his right foot down to gain balance and really jams his leg....maybe the recently fixed knee took some abuse?? He sent out a pic of and MRI, so more to come im sure.....

WOW thats a great shot.

Looks like both Milsaps and Reed went to the middle and bumped with reed getting pushed back into grant,

SO ITS MILSAPS FAULT hahaha,

@Killer Moto you may be right.Reed sure didn't move up through the pack like he should of.

No I say the crash itself is what hurt his knee.If it is hurt.

The audio continues after the screen goes away. I believe that you can hear Stewart in pain.

A racing incident pure and simple. I hope all are okay.

Reed stopmed his right leg at Oakland, but he grenaded his left leg last year at Dallas.

@motodog yeah it was his left knee, but still one wonders what is up with the MRI machine ..

Haha come on Reedy, take it like a man and put your hand up bud. You fired that 'comfortably' feeling CR450 through the whoops with a little too much left-hand bias. Hey shit happens, you own it, the good, the bad and the ugly. Now get ya shit together and chase down that genga up front boi!

Use too, these kinds of things would have been black flagged. Everybody there didn't pay to watch RV ride around the track. Give the fans what they came for.

Here's my take on it. Reed exited the first turn, and for whatever reason he kept turning left at the exit - maybe a little wheelspin, maybe avoiding a rider on the outside of him, which is more likely. Once you enter whoops like that, you have to go in a straight line through them, but for him, due to the exit he made, it was a diagonal line, which intersected #18. Reed was forced to avoid him, which sent him to the right, and we all know how hard it is to change direction accurately when you're blasting whoops, especially on the first lap coming out of the first turn with half the pack on your ass, WFO. Your choices are limited. Reed inadvertently cut Grant off, and we all know you can't just shut off in the whoops. Grant's front end was being taken out to the right, which made him lean the bike to the left as his front end was taken to the right. Grant had to keep the gas on to try to recover, or risk cutting everybody off and getting t-boned. As Reed entered the turn hot, Grant was turning left into Reed trying to get his own bike back underneath him to avoid going down. They blew the turn and stuffed the riders who were on the outside.

Unavoidable racing accident, that's racing, bottom line. Get some counseling if you can't handle it.

You guys notice how freaking fast RV pulled these guys going through the whoops ?

socalxr wrote: 5:47pm January 29, 2013

I agree with conner, this should've been blag flagged. I one point I counted 10 bikes down or facing the wrong way. I don't blame anyone, just racing. Sh*t happens. It just usally happens near the back of the pack where no one really cares.

Reeds right foot came off, causing him to go right. He didnt get into Grant. Grant nailed reed from behind (eww), pushing Reed hard into Stew. (eewww). The track sucked.....Talladega with a few bumps thrown in.

the problem all along was that the track was way to tight! it looked more like an arenacross track than supercross track in many spots!

Stupid Stewart positioning his bike right where Reed was torpedoing to!

Just kidding, kust kidding. Seriously though, I think it's high time they restart the race anytime a top rider goes down. In fact they should have restarted A1 after RV crashed for the 2nd time. Who wants to see RV riding in 16th place? Oh, never mind.

Watch it again. Looks like Reed at Millsaps both drifted in a bit. Davi kept his feet up. Reed got knocked off balance a bit and dabbed. Grant kept it pinned like racers do. I don't see blame for any rider, just a tight track with whoops off the start and a tight ass turn. Shit happens.

Not black flagged, you guys mean red flagged... And no, it should not have been red flagged.

Black flags are reserved for Friese, J-Law and Hanny.

Reed definitely got out of control...But it looks like he pulls it back together until grant comes in and cleans him (Reed) and the rest of the field out!!! I hope JS7 looks at this and realizes it was Grants fault too. Just like last week....

After review of Shorts go pro video on Vital MX I'am going to say it was all Reeds fault.... He clearly cuts off Grant who has no place to go and runs into the rear of Reed. I apologize to Grant (who I'am not a huge fan of) for my last post.

Reed, Reed and nothing but Reed. He just couldn't keep his shizzit together for 30 seconds. Tried to change lines in the whoops, lost control, caused a yard sale behind him and plowed 'em down. That's Reed 100%.

Sensorship is for unfree countries. Rebel.

The problem is the idiot track designer and the AMA/FIM for approving it. They say the whoops separate the men from the boys, so why the Hell would you make the first section out of the first turn a long whoop section.......followed by another long whoop section. Idiotic. Just asking for trouble.

If all the riders in the crash had just laid there for about a minute they would had to red flag it and restarted the race.

Looks like Grant plowed into Reed, who plowed into Stewart. Usually Grant
prefers to just try take out moves on Stewart. Maybe he just can't control that

It´s both Reed and Millsaps that goes into the middle of the whoops, just in front of Stewart. If you go through the footage frame by frame, Reed actually tried to avoid Millsaps but Millsaps bike hits Reed´s and send it to the inside. You don´t get to see the rest but when Reed appears back he´s still trying to turn. And you don´t see Grant trying to brake at all, even considering they collide at the end of the whoops where it´s easy to brake than in the middle.

See, James finally has his finger on the clutch and look what happens!

Profile Picture
byrner99 wrote: 2:49pm January 30, 2013

REED IS INNOCENT!!
Milsaps caused the whole deal. Watch DM18 come from the inside of turn 1 and angle right across toward the middle of the whoops. CR was also moving from the outside towards the middle, but on less of an angle than Milsaps. They almost collide but DM has about a wheel length on Chad and manages to pull away straight, where Chad over corrected and the mayhem ensued! I'd say it's equal or more to blame on Milsaps. So there.
