Your Collection: 1979 RM250
Monday, December 24, 2012 | 10:05 AMThis weeks collection comes to us from Dennis Baldwin.
Lets stick with 1979 theme! Here is my 79 rm 250. Bought last year from a collector just outside Syracuse N.Y. bike was in really good condition when purchased, original bore! but needed a top end. I had Fox shox rebuilt, replaced the top end and replaced rear wheel assy with a wheel from an 82 rm 465. Front end is also 43 mm double leading shoes from an 82 rm 465. Fenders are original! When I was a kid I used to go down to my local Suzuki dealer & sit on these bikes and dream of owning one!

The guy I went to the races with that year had the RM125. Brings back memories! Especially the Fox Shox!
Yes those Fox Shox were the ticket!! I had the 79 RM 400 loved the bike except for the tank graphics which peeled off quickly, luckily DG made a replacement set. The boxy fenders were a style statement of the day for Suzuki...I don't remember all the welds in the pipe, makes it look like a one of hand made units on the RH bikes, only weld on the 400 is the one we made to in large the back pressure washer..Thanks for showing this gem to us!!
Thanks Dennis!
Amazing how many different memories come flooding back with a few pristine pictures of the past.
only thing is that's 1980 tank decal 79 went up in front
nice bike.
Yep "The Man" didn't like the fenders but Suzuki thought they were "Nifty"
