KTM Jr. SX Challenge Announced
Friday, December 7, 2012 | 1:30 PMAURORA, Ill – Feld Motor Sports® announced today that the popular KTM Junior Supercross Challenge (KJSC) that will be making its return to the 2013 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, will also be debuting at the Wilkes Barre, Pa., (February 9) and Kansas City, Mo., (March 2) stops of the 2013 AMSOIL Arenacross season, where the future stars of the sport are showcased in a professional racing environment.
The KJSC will select 15 lucky racers for the chance of a lifetime as they live the life of a factory rider. Aboard identically prepared, factory backed KTM 50SXS bikes these riders will be competing on the very same track as the superstars of AMSOIL Arenacross. The junior racers will also be provided custom racing gear and their very own crew to work on the bikes.
During race day, KJSC riders will be able to participate in the rider track walk, opening ceremonies and autograph sessions just like AMSOIL Arenacross competitors and fellow KTM teammates Jeff Gibson and Kelly Smith. KJSC riders will have a full day of activities, from the minute they arrive. These riders will be pitted in a state of the art KJSC race team transporter where they will gear up to begin afternoon practice laps and prepare themselves to compete in a four-lap exhibition race which takes place during the night program.
“With all of the success the KJSC has had in the past with Monster Energy Supercross, we are excited to expand the program in to AMSOIL Arenacross for 2013,” said Todd Jendro, vice president of two wheel operations, Feld Motor Sports. “The KJSC program has been a springboard for notable factory standouts such as Ryan Dungey, Mike Alessi and Eli Tomac to name a few, so we are pleased to promote this positive and family friendly program into our sport.”
Interested applicants must be 7-8 years old and meet the full requirements listed in the official rules. All rules and online entry forms can be found at the KJSC event website www.ktmjrsx.com. The KJSC is held at two of the AMSOIL Arenacross races. Any additional inquiries about the KTM Junior Supercross Challenge should be directed to local KTM dealerships.Did you like this article?

So cool! I was a part of the KTM JRSX when I was younger, in Pontiac (in either 1996 or 1997). I remember going up the paristyle into the stands, rooooollllingg through the whoops and of course crashing a few times!
I didn't finish too well, but do I recall much of that day. I believe there were 63, 403 people in the stands that night! I've got pictures of my mug up of the big screen and I still have the gear they gave us to race in. This is such a cool event.
