Cypress, CA - With the 2013 race season fast approaching, Yamaha Motor Corporation is excited to announce that in addition to JGRMX, Star Racing, and Rock River Powersports more teams have chosen to line-up behind the starting gate in 2013 aboard YZs.
Lining up in the 450 Class will be the newly formed Velocity3 Racing team, headed by former factory mechanics Brian Berry and Kenny Germain. Leading the charge for the team will be Kyle Chisholm, winner of the 2011 King of Bercy title aboard a YZ450F. Joining Kyle aboard a YZ450F will be Bobby Kiniry. The team will race the 2013 Supercross series.
Next to Velocity 3 on the gate will be the N-Fab Ti Lube Yamaha team. With a long history of highly successful and well run teams under his belt, Allan Brown will bring his management and tuning skills to the gate with Phil Nicoletti in the 450 class. The team will compete in both the 2013 Supercross and Motocross series.
Lining up in the 250 Class will be the “little team that could”, Eleven Ten Mods. Run by Chad Sanner, the team burst onto the scene in 2011 with some surprise performances from Darryn Durham and Alex Martin. For 2013, the team will be YZ250F mounted and Alex Martin will be returning to ride the 250 Class in the East Coast Supercross and the Motocross series.
Valli Motorsports returns with their own race effort in 2013. The team will be spearheaded by Travis Baker who will race a YZ250F in the 250 SX Class on the West Coast.
In addition, Jessica Patterson will be returning home to Yamaha and the YZ250F that she earned her 2010 WMX crown on. Jessica will compete in the WMX series along with select high profile women’s races throughout the 2013 race season.

Kind of funny that the last Silly Season article had all this information a few weeks ago, and Yamaha is just now announcing it. Hopefully the bikes are quicker out of the gate than the PR department.
Alex Martin has had a "rumored teammate" for quite a few months now.
Truly good news. The more teams and riders, the better the competition and racing entertainment. Good to see Yamaha step up and make more rider employment possible.
Big yz from way back maybe they can get the magic back. It's a cyclical thing and there are a lot of great people like Berry and Jermaine behind it !
Yamaha is probably giving major support just to get some of these teams to ride that 450. If they had to go it alone, I'm sure they'd be on anything but Yamahahaha's.
I am glad to see Yamaha pushing to get more in the classes. I also think it is a bunch of nonsece about the new bike being the problem. I have thought for a long time that haveing the exahust to the back and getting more intake from the front was a good idea. But what do I know I was helping to develope the touch screens in the eary 80's and worked on the LCD stuf at the time also? That was before most of you were born. The Yamaha Monoshock was the best at the time. I had several bikes gave to me but I only paid for a Yamaha. Of course never at full price.
Good news, glad to hear it. I'm glad Chisholm got a ride.
Nice to see Phil get a ride
Kiniry!! That's boss.
Look for him to surprise everybody.
Kenny Germain and Brian Berry are the best Yamaha technicians in Supercross right now. Kenny and Ernesto are the ones who developed the first 250f. Not to mention they made history when they were the first to win a Supercross Championship on one. Brian helped Dowd to win a title on a Yamaha as well. So I am sure between the two their Yamaha's will be the best on the track. Kiniry and Chisholm are both solid riders who are not afraid to put in the work. They just needed a good team to work with. So I expect to see them have a break out year. Velocity 3 Racing looks to be the top Yamaha team in the 450 class this year. I also think now that Nicoletti has a solid ride he is going to take advantage of it and turn a lot of heads. It is good to see Yamaha stepping up while other manufactures are pulling back. There are to many top riders scratching their heads wondering what they are going to do for 2013.
The 250 is ready willing and able and the next 450 will be semi/new and improved...the sport is better when Yamaha is really involved....its great some really good riders are getting rides...will make for just that much better racing....b787tech another awesome take.....
Phil Nicoletti gets a well deserved ride, good luck Phil.
They forgot to mention that Chris Blose got a ride on the N-Fab/Ti Lube Yamaha Team!!! Chris works very hard, he definitely deserves it!! Him & Nicoletti are going to put in some solid results!
Sorry Welker but I gotta disagree......Suzuki's 'Full Floater' changed the suspension game in the early 80's.....
Kudos to Phil from everyone back at D-6 and D-34, he was running fast last year when the bike wasn't breaking down. The only guy I haven't heard about yet is Brett Metcalfe, that's a top 8 guy sitting right now.
Nice to see Phil on a support ride worthy of his talent. If anyone can ride a Yamaha to a podium, it would be Phil. I'm pulling for the N-Fab Ti Lube Yamaha team in 2013.
