BAMBAM is going to mix things up if he stays healthy in 2013, he and Tomac are going to be fun to watch for sure!

@b787tech - You are blowing things way out of proportion. This was a one-off race that meant NOTHING. Quitting one race does NOT put you at the same level as Stewart.

RV said he wanted to see where he was at speed wise. I think he proved it to everyone.

Behind the scenes interviews shows RV has a ton of arrogance. If this was Stewart there would be a shit storm and everyone would say how much of a piece of sh*t he is. If JS7 yard saled I think he would have made all races. He's smacked his noggin way worse then RV landing on a tough block and still made the mains (while no longer in the hunt).

b787tech i think everyone should just shut the f*** up, stop crying when someone dominant wins because frankly your opinions dont matter to them nor us, and maybe for once YOU show some gratitude towards the fact that we are able to ENJOY the luxury of watching the worlds fastest riders including the best rider when all the faster guys are injured....yes that was a dungey poke, &
@pw29 how would YOUR ego be if your talents were that of poto, yes you sir would have a tad bit of arrogance/confidence as well

@donkeypunch: If "your opinions don't matter to them, nor us", then why do you get all butt hurt when someone types some ridiculous diatribe on here. I'm sure the attention is appreciated by all parties but you can all skip the man-love festivals that arise whenever someone talks bad about your favorite riders.

Option #7: That nobody died on the merge of the split starts.

I voted for "Suicide-shift" Dungey since option #7 wasn't up there.

Guys, RV's a bad dude and he doesnt have to race a stupid event if he wasnt up to it after the crash, rather wait for a1 and not risk anything. But i voted dungey, straight up man right there. :)

Surprising...I find shifter issues 2x in a row surprising. Dungey has the worst luck when it comes to bizarre bike malfunctions. Gas caps coming off, chains derailing, bikes not starting. That to me is surprising.

Its obvious these things can happen at anytime. I do however, find it intriguing that he experiences these things so frequently.

Crazy. Not sure we got the full story re: What really happened.... I can't say the survey options provided were as "surprising"...

One million dollars in one night. It is oblivious that RV had one thing on his mind, winning 3 races and collecting another million dollars. It seems that he was willing to take chances to win! After crashing no chance at the million no points on the line why risk getting hurt for third place money? Can't wait for A1!

Just a bunch of opinions from people who have no credibility.

@Deeg DeCoster's interview on the matter was kinda puzzling aswell, like he was pinning it all on Dungey

Why are people suprised RV crashed out??

Profile Picture
pizzacorner wrote: 10:23pm October 22, 2012

Team Kawasaki own RV2 and paid millions for him, I would say they put in their $0.02 just like JS7's team does on his decisions. The difference between the two is about 3yrs and RV2 can still win Championships.

Why are people surprised that Villopoto crashed out? I'm never surprised when he hits the dirt

Seriously? The gate not falling for half the riders didnt surprise you!!

Profile Picture
smee113 wrote: 1:21am October 23, 2012

Villopoto has every right to be arrogant, because he's on a whole nother level speed wise. And this coming from a Dungey fan.

@smme , and a few others......Shoot when I won at chicken Lic's I thought I could "probably" run with Hannah. :) So yeah RV has the right, and probably can't help it .Thats the attitude it takes to win at chicken Lic's, can't even phathom at his level.

Nothing on the list is surprising to me, including RV crashing. I do enjoy the Stewtards trying in vain to make some sort of comparisons between there hero going wakeboarding for 3 straight summers and a guy making a smart choice when there is so much to lose though.

I'll put this one out there, check back to where RV was at this point when he came back from his last ACL at the US Open. He was nowhere near ready to battle for a win. He needs to smarten up a little though, as there is no doubt in my mind he was pushing to win the million again and that was ill-advised first race out. He can back it down and still win. Reed on the other hand, came in with the right attitude and probably gained the most of them all from racing here (and not crashing his brains out).

Now if a choice here was KTM having issues in 2 straight motos, I would have chosen that as surprising.

Oh and the gate not falling.......I was surprised it only happened once! All that work to create a MORE dangerous start? I never once watched a MX/SX race and said to myself....."now what we need here is a split start!". Lose the fireballs going off on the side of the track as the rider goes by as well.

Love tuning in to read some of the moronic comments on here. actually comparing RV to JS.....haha. Yeah JS would've raced the third moto!! Bullcrap......he's pulled out of more races than he's entered lately.

Secondly, you're missing the point. After the first moto there was only one guy still eligible for the MILLION! He had to go for it in moto 2 and really shouldn't have just coming back from surgery.

And to the clowns that aren't surprised he crashed....well guess what, everyone crashes...especially the guys who want to be the fastest! While he can crash from time to time he also just recently had the winningest season in history......

PS....even the ever consistent RD had a pretty good crash in practice at the MEC......guess he was lucky he didn't hit his head!

Well put, Ripdown. Am I the only one here that read that RV may have reinjured his knee in that crash? And I also read that he suffered a mild concusion. If this is true, I think he did the right thing. What would you have done?

I can see a gate drop problem at a local race, but a big race lke this? Where a split gate is being used for the first time and no one made sure it was fool proof. Glad they don't make airplanes!

A few of us were out riding on Saturday and the topic of conversation was the MEC. Gotta blow my horn here. I said to them RV would win 1 race but crash in 1 as well, Bam Bam would win 1 and Tomac would win 1. And Bam Bam would take the over all. I also said RD5 would end up 2nd with 2-3 finish's. Got it right.! 2013 sx is going to be good with 3-4 maybe 5 different winners and a close points chase. Here's the no brainier. Stewart out by the 5th round. Over all rd 1st , rv 2nd, bam bam 3rd

what a lot of you are forgetting is how much money rv's sponsors paid to get to vegas and he cant suit up ??? if you dropped 50,00 grand on his butt you would want his bike on the track not in the truck..he wimped out and proved he is arrogant and he is in for it this year,,wilson, barcia etc are gonna put it on him..and him crying about barcia's riding already?? lol..wait till barcia parks you and we all get a good laugh ..

Profile Picture
Ripdown wrote: 10:01am October 24, 2012

joefool

never mind the race.....do you have any idea how much money Monster Energy pays RV to race the SX and MX championships??? maybe that's why he was in the truck for the final moto?
Nobody is crying about Barcia...the media keep asking them about him? You really think any of these top guys fear anyone? They wouldn't be there if he did. Your Barcia train will derail about round three of the SX series.....happens to all the young guys in the first year on the big bikes......RC,JS,CR,RV....etc

SpeedWheelie wrote: 10:58am October 24, 2012

@ Ripdown Didnt happen to Dungey. But then again Barcia and Wilson ride nothing like RD

First or second lap in in the first race RC landed on a tuff block going up into the Talladega turn, which bent his shifter. Not sure how he did it in the second race, thought he said someone knocked a block in front of his. It's sh*tty luck but it's racing and sometimes odd things happen. Better this to happen in the MEC rather than in the SX series though. No doubt KTM will be looking at this and maybe make them stronger. I think it's just one of those freak things. I remember way back having a 3 moto streak of getting my pipe smashed in on my 125 that were all out of my control with others crashing and running into me. It's racing.
