RCH Racing Announces Ricky Carmichael Joining Forces with Carey Hart; Brock Tickle Joins RCH Racing
On Saturday morning at Monster Energy Cup, RCH Racing announced the joining forces of Carey Hart’s Dodge/Sycuan Casino Racing team with Ricky Carmichael and factory support from Suzuki and Yoshimura research and development, as well as the signing of Broc Tickle to ride the 2013 RM-Z450.
Team Owner, Carey Hart, knows the partnership with Ricky Carmichael and Suzuki was the next step in growing his race program that started out as an idea on a napkin in 2007. “This is a really exciting time to be teaming up with Ricky. His resume speaks volumes and his ability to work with riders and build champions is priceless. Ricky was the pivotal piece to bringing Suzuki to our team and now that we have a long term relationship with them on a factory level I feel that we have all of the pieces to go out and win a championship. I think with Ricky working close with Broc during pre-season and throughout the course of the season will help boost Broc’s confidence and bring him up to the next level. Broc already has a ton of talent and he knows how to win championships. We are ready to be on the podium and winning races.”
Ricky, who will be leading the team’s rider development and motorcycle testing, research, and development, is looking forward to sharing lessons learned in his professional career now with RCH Racing. “I’m really excited about this partnership. Carey being successful as an athlete and as a business person has built a great foundation here in the sport and with myself being able to bring the Suzuki program over to the team really solidifies the deal and makes the team complete. We are looking forward to many good years. 2013 will be a building year and in 2014 I think we will be in contention for wins and a championship. Broc finished on the podium several times at the end of this past season and is a former Lites Champion so he knows what it takes to win races and championships. I think he is a diamond in the rough and with a little bit of guidance from myself and support from Suzuki I think we will be able to run top 5 each weekend and score some podium finishes.”
For Broc Tickle, the switch to RCH Racing was a great move for him. “Having Ricky part of the program and his knowledge from being the champion he is and his history with Suzuki made making the switch an easy decision for me. The factory support from Suzuki and Ricky knowing all there is to know about the bike and working with him at the track and in training makes this a step in the right direction for me. I’m looking forward to being part of RCH Racing and helping the team grow.”
“The sponsors of RCH Racing who have continued their support for the coming year and years to come are the key to continuing to help make this team grow and develop into a championship winning team. The people involved from Carey and Kenny to the mechanics and the behind the scenes crew really make this team what it is and a great team to ride for.”
The support from Yoshimura and Suzuki brings RCH Racing to a new level of competition and gives them the tools they need to build a championship contending team. Don Sakakura, President of Yoshimura Racing, LLC states, "Yoshimura is very excited to be involved as a sponsor of the RCH program. The rich history of industry Icons; Ricky Carmichael and Carey Hart are legendary; Yoshimura is thrilled with this opportunity! We look forward to great success this coming racing season!"
Larry Vandiver from American’ Suzuki Motor Corporation couldn’t be happier on the announcement of the partnership. “We are pleased to partner our champion approved RM-Z motorcycles with RCH Racing. We look forward to a long partnership that will raise the bar on racing and bring new fans to the sport.”

I wonder if this means RC will have to get a tattoo!
Congratulations to all involved, I look forwad to seeing the results.
Free tatts for the Carmichal family?I wish them well seriously.I am wondering how Ricky and Kenny will get along.
I think this is good news for the sport and a smart signing with Broc. Have they inked (as in contract) anyone else? I thought they were looking at Tyla too.
@mxsp17 - I'm thinking that Kenny won't be around too much longer with RC around.
Notice there is no mention of H&H. My guess is this team is transitioning to RC and Hart will be out of the picture in a year or so.
The way RC was talking about JB51 last night I wouldnt be surprised if he throws big money to try and pull him from honda in the future.
It's really good news to see RC back again. BTW, did Roczen get deported or something as I've seen no mention of him at MEC as I thought he was supposed to race yesterday?
bwep - RCH stands for Ricky Carmichael (RC) and Carey Heart (CH) = RCH. sounds better that RCCH... get it? Now who's Kenny?
...and what happened to the rest of the old H&H team? Is that why Josh Hansen was riding a Suzuki too?
@klrman1
you wish ... no he got surgery to get a piece of metal out of his hand which he broke befor A1 last year
Guess that means no more SX only huh ?
So RC is done with NASCAR?
Where does this leave the sort of factory Suzuki team?
They should get on their knees, apologise to Hanson for the lame move and resign him for that SX only deal. There is no one left to sign that would sign SX only and is more capable than Hanny.
Cool news with RC though.
Burnside, great idea. If anyone could complete hanny, it would be rc. I would like to see what RC could do with him...
We all know RC is a big fan of Hanny, my thoughts are, Hanny for SX, Metcalfe for outdoors as I heard he'll be doing a outdoor only contract, makes sence to me. Tickle will be great on the zook I think! Bring on 2013!!
Respect to the GOAT for sure BUT THIS IS NOT NEWS!! Who in the Industry did not know this was going on. And I have met BT and think he is ok but he will be at best 8th place in sx this year - that is of course counting on a healthy feild.
And It'll take more than RC to dial in HANNY that moron has done what? Please tell me somebody what has he done to even be considered as a top tier rider?
Sorry if I'm coming off harsh but I agree with Mattes here. Teams sign these type of riders (Hanny, Davolos, Izzi, Stroupe etc.) for "potential" and "speed" and year in and year out these type of guys do what? Someone please explain.
One thing is pretty certain The H&H Brand, Ricky's Suzuki Support and (maybe) a silent partner (Alicia) will have this team well funded and supported. - Hope you do well! Lot of money spent here on 8th place boys.
I don't know how RC will be as a team owner.
If you are not 150% committed to racing 100% of the time (riders say they are, but most are just lying to themselves)...he will hate you within 3 months. RC would be strangling Hanson's pencil neck, as Hanson sits on the couch collecting paychecks with a hurt finger.
Riding for RC, no pressure there.
Suzuki seems poised to make a huge comeback...whereas Yahama has no tactic to get them back into the game. Offering contingency money is fine...if you have a motorcycle that riders feel competitive on. Good luck to RCH and Suzuki.
For everyone that is wondering why Hanny was fired... Here is the big rumor why...
http://www.chronicmx.com/pro-motocross-news-josh-hansen-fired-from-hart-and-huntington/
So why was Josh Hansen fired? Well rumors are abound that it was due to Hansen ridiculous actions last year at the Dutch Zwartecross race. Hansen came out riding his dirt bike half naked, as well as choosing to stop to drink what some people claimed to be a beer on the track (never confirmed). Many are wondering why all of a sudden Hart & Huntington is concerned about cleaning up their reputation, after working so hard to portray themselves as the tattooed bad boy team of motocross. In 2012, they proved that image was a breath of fresh air to the sometimes overly serious sport of Supercross, and the fans loved them for it. If you attended a Supercross race in 2012, the Hart and Huntington tent was without question the ‘fun’ place to be. Fans came to the team’s pit parties by the masses at every Supercross, due to their ‘alternative motocross lifestyle’ celebrations. Having a ‘good time and racing their dirt-bikes’ was their motto. You would have had a hard time to find a more laid back and giving team then the Hart and Huntington crew. That type of thinking also brought them some pretty big outside sponsors, while most privateer teams were struggling to get to the races or find any funding sources.
@tommx, thanks man, I didn't know!
I'm surprised Yoshimura is the exhaust supplier, given Ricky's past with Pro Circuit.
The best thing about Josh Hansen

Paste and sroll down....
Your welcome
She has too much genetic resemblance to her brother; kinda ruins it for me.
MX 40...
Ya that would be a buzzkill for sure....but not a deal breaker
J
RCH means something totally different to me.
Black Jack I know!! Red C&%# Hair??
I bet you know how to use a micrometer dinosaurmedia.
put filthy phil nicolletti on there!
O man im seeing the writing on the wall. Stews prolly heading over there next.
Those that think Kenny has to go b/c RC is there now should not forget that the two of them aren't bad friends. Kenny has mentioned hanging out with RC multiple times over the years for spring breaks and such on the PulpMX show.
mrfingknowitall11,
Judging by a tweet from @JS7 about riding with Tickle and Hill yesterday, as well as the fact that RCH and Stew will have the same backing from Yosh and Suzuki, I'd say you aren't too far off with that assumption.
