Eleven10 Mods Switching to Yamaha for '13?

Friday, October 12, 2012 | 10:30 AM

As the 2013 supercross season approaches and the offseason winds down, rumors and speculations tend to take off when certain pieces of the paddock puzzle remain unfilled. Specifically, Yamahas plans for 2013 have not been officially announced yet. With that said, we are hearing Eleven10 Mods will be stepping away from Hondas and onto Yamahas for the 2013 season. Rumor has it that Eleven10 Mods will possibly be receiving support from Yamaha, although the level of support cannot be officially confirmed at the moment. The team’s rider(s) and title sponsor will also be announced at a later date.

They may want to consider Rocket Valley Suspension. If you have not heard of them - you will. Incredible Set up!

Ya BIG move! BillC, I think that would help Yamaha. I alsso wish AMA and others would make a rule that the Nationals have to use Carbs. A good wrench can tune a carb but cannot tunafish. I could tune a Mikuni carb really good!
I think Eleven10 Mods can make em better! I just need a flow bench and Mikuni carb dont like EFI.

the yamaha 250s are a good bike. just cause its a yamaha, doesnt mean its a shitty bike. the 250s are completely different from the yzf450 as how the engine and the frame is.

user Welker : what would be the benefit of a carb. only rule? Sounds retarded to me.

Being a fan of not only Eleven Ten Mods, but a big fan of Alex Martin I think this is really good to hear. Alex has a ton of potential and has had his share of bad luck. Maybe this is the break he has been waiting for.The Yamaha works good for his brother Jeremy, so why not? I would think that Chad can find the same power in the Yamaha that has helped Alex to get a few (or I should say several) holeshots the last couple years. And after the mechanical issues that he suffered through out the 2112 season, he's prolly ready to try something new. I will be seeing Jeremy soon so I guess I'll just have to ask him what's up for sure. Heck, I'm so old I can remember cheering thier dad on when he was just a youngster. A really, really fast youngster at that. And, as long as I'm at it, thier grandpa "Doc" Martin was fast too, although a bit before my time...Yeah-Martin fan here.

I think Yamaha would do anything right now to get their bikes on the track. You don't see much blue these days. The 250F is outdated and the 450 is, well, backwards. And for those of you who think I'm hating check the results for 2012.

@Organdoner Didn't you see Jeremy Martins hole shot at Steel City? That was on his Star Valley Yamaha. I'd say that his bike must be fast to do that . And in his second race as a pro, with an injured shoulder to boot. Can't wait to see how things go for him!

@ urbani--- Hey if they had carbs then the mechanics would have to work to tune the bike. The EFI takes to much out of the wrenches tuning. The iingnition maps are great. Just give me a Flow bench, Mikuni carb, and a Dyno! I would like to see what I could do!

@ everyone else----- hello, is anybody out there? Just another brick in the wall........
Oppps some Pink Floyd there, Yamaha is the only bike I ever paid for myself. I hhave been given other bikes but ya I always had connections for Yamaha stuff. I still think the bikes should have carbs. I like Mikuni's but will admmit I did put a keihein on my 92 YZ and my 1980 Harley. Ya cant even find a wrench that knows what a carb is on trucks and cars anymore? Gee I used to dial in my carbs on my F150's Got great milage, these EFI's ya cant tune em like you can tunafish.

@VAMXDUDE I expected some negative feedback by one of the many juveniles on this forum. It's nice that mommy and daddy let you on the computer but they should teach you some manners. They also need to teach you the definition of the word objective. I actually own a Yamaha but that doesn't change the fact they aren't being ridden by the pros much. Go be a moronic fanboy somewhere else. That spot here is already occupied.

@ texag, well played sir. Way to put them away!

@ Welker, nice try buddy, kiss carbs goodbye. You, me, the rest of the world, will not stop the "mandated progression". Anybody with eyes knows an injected bike will NEVER beat a naturally-aspirated bike on the dyno. That said, in a motocross application, there is little argument for remaining with carburated bikes.

@ Eleven-Ten mods, Kiss your holeshots goodbye. Congrats on the monetary infusion.

Yamaha has always had a strong grassroots presence that has kept them away from the "pariah" tag but, this may well be their worst time ever for trying to attract talent with their product....................What pro wants to race (even ride) a YFZ450 or a Mikuni (or any other carburetor) equipped 250F?

Dyno-wise, there is a definite advantage to 250F's with carbs but, that advantage is negated in the MX enviroment. There is nary an argument for them in that application.

When will we see supercharger technology being applies applied to the 250F's? When they build 200' triples/quads for them to attempt?

@Carlsbad-My buddy A-Mart is gonna prove you wrong on the holeshot comment. I will bet you a beer on this one! Jeremy does fine on his Yammy and Alex will as well. Gotta believe in my hometown boys! They make moto overall better for me. You know how it is, a race is a race, unless you know some of the participants! Then, it's a RACE! lol

@carlsbad, it's the brother thing! Ya know? If he can do it so can I! And I think every holeshot these days is hard earned. Just another great thing about this sport. Jeremy really likes his Yamahas, I think Alex will be fine on them also. If it were up to me, they would both be on either P C Kawi's or Gieco Hondas. With all the best stuff and huge salaries! LOL (And, what the heck, a couple Rockstar/Monster girls each too!!!)
