Was AC222 riding the 350 in the MXoN?
That,,,,,, was neat.
@Outlaw53,, Yes
AC pretty much gated everyone on a 350! Dude is fast! I did KTM demo ride day a few weeks back, rode everyone of KTM's motocross bikes and it was a tie for my favorite between the 450 and 350!
This is definitely something that racerX needs to get their local expert on (Walker?) to try and decipher why these guys have so much speed in this terrain. It would be really interesting to study, since between your normal race and this you not only have the regulars versus the sand specialists, you get the U.S. versus Europe styles too.
@BlueStallion87 ,, They have speed in the sand just because they ride those tracks way more often than the US Guys. Its that simple. Roczen canand has beat Herlings on a non-sand track. Its just like if you havent ridden in the mud, and other guys have a few times, they will more than likely do better,, if they are comprable riders.
These guys ride this bottomless sand so well. If the US guys rode it more, they'd figure it out and be right there as well. Just getting familiar with it and bike set up. They have more than enough talent.
A few months ago this site had some great clips of Cairoli and Herlings riding sand tracks (separate clips)...... to some great music. Does anyone know how to find them? I remember one image of Herlings leaned wayyyy over railing a sand berm and dragging his hand behind him and looking at the camera. I'd love to see those video's again.

@theped26:
Nice video. And beautiful track; but steel fence and trees right on the track edge! That could be disastrous. Have this crash (http://youtu.be/hO99vz09R2U) on that track -- yikes!
350 holeshot from the outside!!
@ LastBikeRM250
I know, dangerous right? This is where Herlings & Cairoli learn their trade and many other tracks in Holland & Belgium.
BlueStallion87 one thing that would help is standing up a lot more then RD did. That was killing him.
@ BillC
Max Nagel got the holeshot on the 450. Cairoli started from the middle.
BillC I definitely see what you saying. Stefan Everts came from the same place and practically known to never sit down. I think even more so than the sand it ties back to the American way of track design with the point and shoot with tight turn builds as Barcia mentioned in one of the videos last week. Our guys aren't used to carrying speed through faster sweepers and more flowing turns, which is what the sand is really all about-flow.
Oh man, I think our USA team did a great job given the circumstances, but this pic is hilarious! http://t.co/4vuVaJgc
Roczen retweeted it!
js7 or rv can beat him easy
DeCoster should have brought the junkyard dog to that sand box.
LastBikeRM250 ,.....That Pic is FUNNY as hell!! LOL
