Wow Vicki Golden finished 14th at the Montreal Supercross against the guys...pretty impressive.
Congratulations goes out to the German team for capturing their first ever title at the Motocross of Nations. Roczen got to shed some of his frustrations from his first year of racing in the states, Nagal was able to show KTM they may be making a mistake in letting him go and Schiffer proved he was good enough to get the job done and as a team this weekend, they were best in the world!!!
Congrats also go out to the host country, the Belgians did a a great job of riding as a team, scoring enough top ten finishes to come within 4 points of holding serve on their history lade-den Lommel track. DeSalle, KkD and Horebeek should all take pride in the job well done!!
I am very proud of Team USA, they rode hard, never gave up and were gracious in defeat. Our A team was only good enough to capture third place finish, it is not what we are used to, but it will make us better!! It is impossible to continue to raise your skill level if you never face adversity. Our eyes were opened to reality, we are not the best riders when it comes to sand, we have a lot to learn.
I am glad for Tony Cairoli, he finally got to show why he is multi-time world champion. No bad luck for him this year, just a display of his enormous talent! He would be a top contender for the title, where ever he chooses to race!!! Jeffery Herlings lived up to his billing as the Sand King!! Coming through the pack to run down TC, with little rest, was very impressive! If he gotten a better start, Herlings and Cairoli may have lapped the field, trying to prove who was the better sand rider, it would have been a great show to see!!
To all the European fans, my helmet is off to you!! As fans, you support your riders in amazing numbers, brilliant costumes and with a lot of class. It was a great week for all of you, as your ISDE team, your MX Nations team flat kicked butt!! Also, I hear your stick team won the Ryder Cup, it was a wonderful weekend for the Euro's, again Congratulations, for dominating on the world biggest stages!!
A quick shout out to CBS, Thank You, for seeing the importance of this event! All of us motocross fans appreciate your hard work in bringing this race to television for our viewing pleasure.. Good Job !!
Well said, BD25.
I have to admit, I took all the "it's a sand track" talk far too lightly. I have never seen an entire track that could be ridden / raced with a paddle tire.
In the end, euromike's imaginary team wasn't neccessary to grab the gold, as Germany's team did just fine. Congrats to them! I think Marcus Schiffer's performance will have people saying "Schiffer who?" much like Great Brittan's Paul Malin did way back in '95.
I think Carioli's "spotty" des Nations' record can be thrown out the window now.
I'm still blown away that what A.C. & Herlings did yesterday was on 350's. I suppose Everts pushing for the 350 wasn't so bad an idea after all.
@BD25- racerx needs to hire you! Good words as always.
"A quick shout out to CBS, Thank You, for seeing the importance of this event! All of us motocross fans appreciate your hard work in bringing this race to television for our viewing pleasure.. Good Job !!" These words can not be said enough!
@EuroMike- live the moment of glory, you called that one! After that, were on for next year! lol
Congrats to Germany, Belgium, USA and all the participating countries that make up this time honored event. And yes, Belgium did a great job of Hosting this years 2012 MXdN. Especially for grooming the track so nicely just for USA to feel right at:
"Home Sweet Lommel"...Ha!
