Let's hope Jimmy's OK!
Sucks to hear, hope he's ok. I wonder if it'd have been possible to get a higher profile rider over there on such short notice (like Steward, Tomac, , or dare I say Alessi?) I'm not super in-the-know on these types of things, but it'd have been cool to see a rider on "America's B-team" (which, let's be honest, Team P.R. pretty much is), give the A-Team a run for their money in a moto or two.
What the hell! Wow, that poor guy has quite an impressive black cloud over his head.
Alessi would have been an A player on the B team!!
Team Purto rico
mx1... Andrew Short
mx2...Tomac
mx3...Josh Grant
why not?
My guess would be that MA probably felt that he should have been on Team USA to begin with and probably would have turned down a ride for PR if he'd gotten the call. Again, just a guess. Hope Jimmy gets well soon.
Probably had to be a Yamaha rider. Sucks for Jimmy :(
Woah what am I talking about? Chis is a kawi guy now! Yeah god knows how they reached that decision.
@jamma10 would make sense that decision made based on choosing a rider that can ride sand with no practice and logistics
@MXLaw - Can you expand on exactly how team PR is chosen? Just curios if there are citizenship restrictions, etc.
Puerto Rico is a U S territory so rider must have U S passport. Most people don't realize that Peurto Rico flys both US and Puerto Rican flag and that Puerto Rican soldiers serve in U S armed forces and that there is a U S Supreme Court Justice from Puerto Rico. Team is chosen by a committee I believe.
JS7, Tomac, Alessi - - that would be awesome!!!!
If u listen to Mathes podcast w JS7 then you know he isnt even a possibility since the guy incharge of selecting team Puerto Rico doesnt get along with JS7. basically theres some bad history there. but Dang, Alessi is the real deal and Tomac andosbourne on 250's. They would have killed it and actually be 2nd after USA. Just saying no other country would have anything on Alessi, tomac and osbourne.
Haha sooner or later we are gonna start taking 6 riders including puerto Rico and the other countries would be fighting for last place on podium. USA puerto rico would always go 1-2 w american riders.
@dgizzy1 Not sure where Matthes got his information on that actually JS7 approached several years ago by PR team and JS7 team at time or someone with JS7 nixed it and there are no bad feelings towards JS7 by anyone with Team PR huge respect for JS7 talent
Latest word on Albertson apparently nothing broken stayed in hospital overnight --keep hoping for good news
