Fantastic weekend at the VMXDN. Superb riding by Ryan Hughes and his team mates. Maybe the overall didn't go Team USA's way but they certainly captured the hearts of the fans.
Ryno, Jeff Ward, Doug Dubach, Ronnie lechien and Chuck Sun all showed their humanity by taking time out to walk over and visit my friend Adrian Mahoney who has been paralysed since 1988 in mx accident and is now confined to bed 24/7. Adey's mum Jackie and family had got permission from organisers and set up his bed right beside turn 1. Adey was " over the moon" to have them visit him and Ryno gave him a signed shirt, Ronnie signed goggles etc. for his memrobilia collection that adorns his bedroom at home.
Cheers guys for taking time out and bringing joy to him and family. Adey even got Doug to resign his jersey he originally gave him from his SX win at San Jose in 1990.

I was supposed to race the Evo class on my VRP 125 as well but couldn't make it...too bad! What i liked the most is the shake-hands at around 13:00 between Hughes and DeWit. That shows the true spirit of the weekend ! Awesome. And i also have to mention my italian friend Vascular/GASSOG with number 8 on his back at 9:42-9:47 who rode an awesome '86 125 Tresoldi (a modified Honda CR 125 with Mugen engine and special aluminium tank and swingarm and subframe from italian VRP). I imagine starting in 2nd row behind all those 500s and eating the roost....meglio d'un bel piatto di spaghetti, no? ;)

Ronnie Lechien got banged up pretty bad in moto 1 of Evo VMXDN races. He'd caught gear lever in rut was stuck in first gear but kept going for team result and Kawi seized up going off fast jump in woods.
Wardy had some good rides through field but had bad luck falling in first turn in a couple of moto's. Doug Dubach rode well and Chuck Sun and Mike Bell got drafted in to team duties and placed well. Moto 3 in over 50 twinshock was a classic between Chuck and Mike Bell battling, 1980 all over again!
