The List: Pro Circuit's 100 MX Wins

Friday, September 14, 2012 | 1:00 PM

You can easily make the argument that the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki team is the most succesful in the history of the sport. Yes, factory efforts (like Team Honda circa-1982-1996) saw their share of dominance in the big class, but PC's run has gone on for 21 seasons now, with a staggering number of riders.

The latest is Blake Baggett, who snagged PC's 10th 250 MX Championship in the last 15 years. But his Lake Elsinore win not only sealed the title, it also marked PC's 100th AMA Motocross win of all-time. This week for The List, we provide the full honor role with each of PC's 100 all-time outdoor wins.

(And, by the way, the team has over 200 wins all time when you throw their supercross success in. But that's another list for another day!)

Is there any record that RC does not hold in outdoor Motocross?

Claxton - No.

Wow. I feel really, really old. I can't believe it has been 21 years since MC, Swink, Buehl and Lamson were on Team Peak.

Crashing, JS7 has that one all to him self. Ha ha.
Having a little fun guys not a hater.

Interesting...RC accounts for a quarter of the wins. RC and RV combined cover almost half of them (45).

Claxton YES JS has more wins in the 125 class I believe

BillC
You are correct JS7 has the most combined MX and SX 125/lites wins. RC has the 125/Lites MX lead over Mark Barnett.

That's right. JS broke the record for 125s. I was glad. Much as I respect everything RC accomplished in his career, I thought dropping down for one race in order to break the record was kind of BS.

Ricky(25wins) and Villopoto(20) account for 45% of the wins by themselves. Still amazing.

Excellent Job Pro Circuit. Peyton and DeCoster stand apart from other team managers with their midas touch and team management wisdom. With them teaming together on the MSDN, it is no wonder why we have a record like no others. The best people with the best equipment beats luck every time in the long run, but PC has a way of pulling more out of riders than the riders think they have to deliver (i.e. Gaddis et al) Racing IS a cruel mistress, but PC has fully tamed the shrew.

Outdoors I believe JS has 28, RC 27 and the bomber 26, The fact that RC dropped down to break the record at the time did not bother me but Mike Brown letting RC by for the win was BS and tanted the record for me but the JS can along and broke it for real anyway.

I question win #36 on this list. RC had won the 250(450) title on a Factory Kawasaki, then dropped down to the 125's for one race at Steel City to be the all time 125 winner. But, was he on a Pro Circuit bike?

Thought in '99 RC was on a factory Kawasaki??

@WStewart34 - they took his old 125 off the showroom at PC, went through it and he raced it. It is back there now if you want to look at it, but indeed it was a PC bike through and through, even though he was a full factory Kawasaki rider. I love to go down there when I am in the area and look at the machines. Notice that RC's triple clamps are much bigger than the other guys - when the kid started he was the Tasmanian Devil of motocross, and his bikes needed to be upgraded to survive an IED on the road to Fallujah.

If Baggett continues, he will be right with RC and Villopoto. If he wins 11 or 12 overalls, he will pass Villopoto. Won't be easy.
