Chad Reed Back on the Bike

Thursday, September 13, 2012 | 2:45 PM
Chad Reed was on top of his game, heading up the Monster Energy Supercross series in second place entering Round 7 at Dallas in pursuit of his third career supercross title. During the final lap of the main event, Reed and Villopoto were battling for first when disaster struck. Chad went over the bars on a triple set breaking two ribs, his T6, tearing an ACL, fracturing his tib/fib, and ending his supercross season. A trying setback for Chad and for Team TwoTwo Motorsports. But now, a mere six months later, Chad Reed is back on his bike! See the episode Friday, September 14 dropping exclusively through Network A.

@realmofo--Stewart finished ahead of Reed this past season, but I know what you are saying.. Reed had him easily covered before his injury..

@mxmofo1

Yea... that would have happened at Salt Lake 2009..... but Larry Brooks decided stewie needed help so he commissioned Jizzolm (who is that guy) to take Reed out while being lapped. Dont argue... just agree or cry.... it dosent matter... everyone saw it... everyone knows what happened..... Reed said it himself.. "im glad it happened" because now everyone knows what kind of D-bag Stewart is for going along with it and saying "i had nothing to do with it" BS.... Go watch the footage before you post some lame ass reply about how stewarts the "fastest man on the planet" blah blah blah. Reed had him covered.

@maniacsXtrem, i agree with you that what happened at salt lake in 09 was complete BS, you could see it in stewarts face on the podium that he knew exactly what went down behind him then lied that he didnt know anything about it

Reed crashed on the last lap? I was there. I don't remember it being the last lap... was it?

Profile Picture
ronniebarnhardt wrote: 5:42pm September 13, 2012

No it wasnt the last lap, it was about 6 or 7 laps in.

Just checked the tapes. It was on lap 7

I don't believe for one second that Chisolm's move changed the outcome of the race at all in salt lake. CR did not have JS covered or he would have caught and passed him. The move did not slow CR more than 1tenth of a second and if CR could have it would have been even more motivation to catch and pass JS. He didn't have the speed and had many more laps to find it. Hard to tell if it was intentional, it was sloppy at best.

Mxmofo@BillC-- You two are just fishing for whatever you can.. Reed has outraced and outclassed Stewie the last two supercross seasons and you both know it..

@therealmofo,, You say we are "fishing?" You might want to take a look at your first post, 2nd from the top. Its funny how some people can see things clearly, but can't see themselves, isnt it ???

James will stomp Reed all SX season. And if Reed tries to compete with all the front runners, like he did last year, he will bite it again. Riding around waiting for everyone else to crash out, doesn't cut it anymore. When he went over his head and found the others speed, well,he he was on the couch or in the broadcast booth.
Don't get me wrong, Reedy was first class in TO for the first ever track party last year. And he was hobbling around on crutches. Cheers Reed!!! But father time is creeping up!

do people really believe that reed would have beat Stewart @ slc in 2009 if were in not for Kyle? I was at the race and have watched it many times since. James pass reed 3 times in that race in 3 different spots and all if them were clean passes. On one of reeds passes he ran James high and off the track into a tuff block. I don't know what Kyle was doing but if it was team tactic he did a shity job at it. I don't think it slowed reed down at all and if it did it was nothing compared to what he did to Stewart just a couple of laps earlier when he forced him off the track. The real reason why reed fell behind---the same reason why fell behind race after race that year... Stewart was just faster.

@halfe316--Yes Stewie showed up AFTER all the top guys like Reed and RV1 were injured. And ONLY then did he show up.. And he still crashed and burned just like always..

Profile Picture

@mxmofo--read it anyway you can, but Reed has outraced an outclassed Stewie in the last 2 seasons and you know it.. Easy as can be.. Stewie couldnt even show up to pick up his "Special" 4th Place trophy after the 2011 season.. Thats right--4th place..Its the best he has done since when???

Oh goodness.

Another wave of brilliant posts ONCE AGAIN telling us how Reed will never be as fast as the others (especially Stewart), how Stewart will destroy him in the upcoming SX season. Blah, blah, blah.

Reed will be back to win. Will he take a title? That's hard for ANYBODY in such a stacked field. But if you think Reed won't be a contender, you have been doing some heavy, heavy smoking, and I don't mean tobacco.

you guys are crazy RD5 is just getting stronger and stonger, Reed is just getting older and older, plus Barcia and Tomac are gonna be up now so its young vs old, and young wasnt out injured for half of supercross and all of motocross. so just saying, Reed isnt really a favorite for the title, and RV is the same but he still is on a factory bike, and is only 5 years into his 450 career, while CR is what 10 years into it?

i know CR22 is your guys favorite, but you gotta face the truth, Reed or Villopoto isnt gonna have it this year.... sorry
