Steel City 450 Moto 1 Report
Saturday, September 1, 2012 | 2:10 PMThe rolling hills of Delmont, Pennsylvania are the site of penultimate round of the 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championships. Red Bull KTMs Ryan Dungey put the finishing touches on his second 450 National title weeks earlier at Unadilla, but plenty was still on the line as the series embarked on Pennsylvania for the second time in 2012.
Dungey would holeshot moto 1 with Davi Millsaps, Bobby Kiniry, Andrew Short, Mike Alessi and Nico Izzi in tow. Short quickly worked his way into second as Millsaps was left struggling to fend off Alessi, and Kiniry left pulling into the mechanics with an unspecified problem.
A revitalized Nico Izzi, in just his second race back from a back injury, made a big run early. Izzi had worked his way into fourth before crashing in the uphill triple triple section after the finish line. The early crash cost Izzi as he had to settle for eighth.
Up front, Dungey was methodically putting distance on Short, clicking off seconds as the laps ticked away. Meanwhile, JWR Josh Grant had quietly worked his way into fourth after getting around a shaky Millsaps.
Dungey would cruise to the moto win, his 15th of 17th. Short would capture second with Alessi rounding out the podium. Grant, Millsaps, Tyla Rattray, Jake Weimer, Izzi, Christian Craig and Kyle Chisholm rounded out the top-10.

I dont know if its the camera angles or what.........but they sure look slow today!!
I realize they are hauling ass though
The heck with the opens, that 250 class first moto was an epic!! I figured Bagget would chase em down but it was Tomac I am impressed! What a race!
The epic pornstash got shaved too.....lol
Anyone else having problems with the live streaming? It kept dropping the audio and/or buffering video and locking up completely. I had to restart the thing a dozen times during the 1st 250 moto.
I was surprised, because it had worked almost flawlessly over the whole season up until this race. Maybe it was something going wonky on my connection, but just thought I'd float this here to see if it was more widespread.
On another note, I wish they would put the audio through a limiter of some sort. That Kawasaki commercial is incredibly LOUD relative to most everything else.
Dungey's 15th of the LAST 17!!
LastBikeRM250: DITTO ON ALL COUNTS! And that flippin Kawi commercial makes me want to slap someone! :) Serious though, if I could watch the motos by any other means I would All the commercials are wayyyy too loud. I have to sit close to the computer in case they go to a commercial cause I don't want to burst my speakers...
man i actually fell asleep watching that 450 moto
really glad the ultimate 450 snoozefest season is over with now
2012 has been like watching baseball ....zzzzZZZ
thank god i woke up in time for the 250 class.. always a pleasure
450's aren't nearly as boring when you're a Dungey fan ;)
Anyone else think the tracks are overprepped causing too many ruts ?
