Munn/Ankle Savers KTM Southwick Recap
MUNN RACING /ANKLE SAVERS /KTM powered by EBR PERFORMANCE SOUTHWICK RACE REPORT
The American Legion Post 338 hosted round nine of the 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. The racing at Southwick is intense for everyone and this weekend proved to be no different with the weather threatening as the day moved along.
Munn Racing put all 7 riders in the program. 3 in the 250 class,3 in the 450 class and 1 in the WMX class.
The team had a mixed bag of results in the 250 class with #211 Tevin Tapia earning the elusive AMA points with a 17th in moto 1. #99 Sean Hackley Jr. finished just outside the points with a hard earned 22nd in the 1st moto. 40 Gannon Audette fought hard in the Southwick sand for a 27-24 for the day.
The 450 class provided a little more excitement for team with newly acquired Robby Marshall qualifying in the top 5 and a 4th in the 1st moto helped set a good tone for the early part of the day. A little run of bad luck in the 2nd moto kept the likable New England hot-shoe from a top overall finish on the day. Robby went 4-32 for 11th overall on the day. Fresh off earning his diploma from the Florida bar tending academy, Ricky Renner found himself in a familiar spot, on the starting line for an AMA National. Matt Cunningham had is bike jetted spot on for the days event, having the only carb in the class. We looked for big things out of RR as we move towards the end of the long outdoor season. Another highlight of the day was Todd Kreig putting his Munn Racing/Ankle Savers powered by EBR Performance KTM 350SXF in the program going the long way through the LCQ. Todd had consistent 27-26 moto finishes on the day.
The day ended on a high note with the team’s lone WMX rider Sara Pettersson finishing out the day on the podium with 4-4 moto finishes. Mechanic Tim Slayton and Sara have been working hard in conjunction with Tom Crain/Team Manager to consistently work up the ladder in the overall points standing and the race at Southwick proved to be another notch in the belt for the team.
Munn Racing would like to extend a warm handshake to Moto-Fit KTM for their support of Robby Marshall in the New England area. If you guys are in the neighborhood stop by and see Mike and the guys at the Danbury, CT dealership.
We hope to see yous guys at Unadilla this weekend.
