DeCoster, Rattray, McDade, Concept 2 on DMXS Radio Tonight

Wednesday, August 15, 2012 | 4:10 PM
Red Bull KTM’s Roger DeCoster is synonymous with motocross.  His ability to generate championships as team manager is only secondary to his own legendary career.  Roger has always been committed to winning and took the position at KTM knowing they were just as eager and committed to win here in the US.  We’ll get his thoughts as the season winds to a close and the Motocross des Nations quickly approaches.

Kawasaki’s Tyla Rattray pretty much owns Southwick.  He earned his first 250 moto win there in 2009, and backed that up with overalls in 2010-11 setting the stage for his win last weekend.  Tyla has had a rough season so far, but you know one of the toughest riders in the pits wouldn’t be kept down for long.  We always look forward to catching up with one of our favorite South African transplants.

There are certain defining moments in sports that can positively affect an outcome well above the final results.  These feats of sportsmanship are unexpected, yet instantly give perspective to a larger purpose.  Michael McDade was faced with a decision after a pileup at Southwick.  As he was scrambling back to his own ride, he saw the hand waving of a fellow racer in a precarious and dangerous situation stuck under his motorcycle.  He didn’t hesitate to drop his own bike and render aid at the cost of valuable time on the track.  This might seem insignificant to some, but we salute his decision and wanted to have him on to make sure he knew that.

Concept2 Rowers are found at the home gyms and in the rigs of our sport’s top riders for a reason.  There’s simply not a better rowing machine on the market.  Greg Hammond is the point-man for the company and a good friend of the show and will catch us up on their line of innovative products in between some good bench racing.  Check out www.concept2.com for more information and to see what you’re missing if you don’t have one in your gym.

Mike Burgess from Team Sakai Racing and Chase Yocom are organizing support for Stone Elder, a young 15-year-old amateur motocross prospect that was just diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.  The cancer was discovered after being taken to the hospital after a crash preparing for Loretta Lynn’s.  You can check out www.Facebook.com/StoneElderBenefitAuction for information on their auction or to donate directly.  You can also contact Mike at [email protected]. There will be an auction next week so please help spread the word!

DMXS Radio also thanks our wives, Black Ops Moto, ONE Industries, Racer X, MX Sports, GoPro Cameras, OGIO, Concept2Rowers, Coach Robb Beams, MotoSport.com, FREEGUN Underwear, Vurb Moto and Skull Candy for their continued support!

DMXS Radio has been making Bad Billy proud since 2001.

I have to hand it to Mike Mcdade, in all the years I have watched the races...I have never seen the kind of help that young man gave to a fellow competitor!!! Good for him, I bet the big shots out there took notice. Now on to TR, he owns Southwick? Really...he only won that moto cause RD did a pit stop. I wish the media would stop trying to make things look more exciting than it is for the 450 class. RD still came in 2nd that moto and still got the overall, pit stop and all, thats not saying a whole lot about the rest of that class!
