Your Collection: Maico Flyer
Tuesday, July 10, 2012 | 11:50 AMThis weeks collection comes to us from Kevin Clark
Not really a collection but I found this old "Mr. Know-it-all" flyer from back in the day. Don't ask why I kept it but I thought some of the old school Maico guys would like a trip down memory lane. A Dirt Bike magazine writer and hard core Maico rider, Mr. Know-it-all is very cool.

I never knew Rondo Talbot was a real person (still don't). I always thought Rick Siemen would do the article since it really had his writing style nuances. In recient times, it seemed that Ron and Wolf trade off, but what do I know? I was always able to glean precious bits of wrench wisdom amongst the old-school attitude, but come to think of it, none of the wrench wisdom did me any good since I was born with two ham-fists and am perpetually mechanically declined. Still, good times though...
Her is a good read for all you Maico Freaks my dad hung around a lot of them in the early years and new some folks that let me ride a few at some early races in late 70's as a teen. Enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!

Sexy Maico.
I remember seeing a Maico for the first time in 1980. My buddies and I were all riding clapped-out RM's, YZ,s KDX's etc, and finally made the 6 hour drive to Unadilla for the USGP. I still remember the sound and smell of those big 490 2-strokes ripping through the tall grass & deep loam that track used to have. An awesome experience for a 13 year old!!! I finally got my own a couple years later, right before the company folded...
