WooHoo.......all 4 motos back to back. Some channel changing needed, but this is a small price to pay for live coverage.
Condolences to those who do not have all the channels. I have to go across the street (brother has it) to see fuel tv (I'm too cheap to buy it) but I have NBC and NBCSN.
Go Dungenator, KidRoc, Marvin the Martian, Tomac the Terrible, Alessi w/o Tony......
Am I reading this right that there is no coverage other than FUEL for the 2nd 250 moto?
If so, that sure sucks -- the 250 class is where the action! Up til now we could stream the 1st motos on allisports and then watch the 2nd on NBCsports.
At least Allisports has been putting up all the motos in their archive a couple of days later. Definitely appreciate that and hope they continue doing so.
Too complicated. I'm a huge fan and would love to watch these races, but I have a life to live and a lawn to mow and precious little time and I'm not wasting it by trying to cobble together some remnants of old moto 1 and 2 action in both classes over 4 different channels (including Allisports). Please wake me up with this abortion of outdoor coverage ends and SX 2013 starts again on Speed. Seriously, this is a joke. We aren't all "joe techs" who can stream allisports on our projection screens and I don't get fuel. Why waste any time trying to piece this coverage together when I can just read the highlights. And trying to dig highlights off Allisports is a joke too....did you want the 5 minute clip or the one hour clip, did you want all of the highlights or just the part where a good pass was made in one moto. Rant off.
Is someone doing this intentionally to piss off viewers and kill the entertainment business?
Is the repeat broadcast on NBC sports both second motos or just the 450's?
How to watch Budds Creek.
1. Set your DVR to record all the action so you don't have to watch commercials.
2. Go to your favorite place to ride for the day, in my case that would be Wilseyville CA.
3. Invite some buddies over to watch on the HD 60" plasma
4. Break out the chips and guacamole.
5. Crack a cold one and enjoy.
250 moto 2 only on Fuel, That sucks for me since i have comcast. What a bummer.
yeah! Boo! on the no 2nd 250 moto other than Fuel! how are we supposed to catch that? that's the class to watch this year!
bummer. Why not keep it on Alli?
why not just keep it all on NBCSN??? why spread this stuff across the globe? it makes no sense. diversity is a good thing for th emost part, but here it just doesn't work. I don't get Fuel TV, even if I was weak enought to pay for it just to watch moto, I can't. I dont' have time to sit on the computer and stream a live moto--DVR and late-night viewing are where its at for me--three young kids = NO moto TV mid-day on a saturday or sunday for sure! I miss the old days of ESPN2 and the full 2 hour, 4-moto coverage.....
I thought for sure someone would be smart enough to stream the 2nd 250 moto on Fuel also on Allisports, but I apparently grossly overestimated the idiots who do this crap. Really sucks to have to wait to see that moto archived days later, I hate to know how a race ends before I watch it.
"A Big Thumbs Down" On the omission of the (second) 250 Moto on NBC or NBCSN, only to be aired on FuelTV Network.
Does the program director know how many viewers do not have an option to FuelTV.
(All) of the Comcast subscribers (don't) even have an option to add FuelTV to their program line-up.
I stated this yesterday in the article on "High Point Marks Second Most-Watched Show Ever on FUEL TV" I don't mind jumping from PC to TV to watch my passion for National Motocross.
But, when this season began, I was with the perception that (all) Second Motos (250/450) would be aired on NBC and or NBCSN.
Being prepared in advance for the (known) is one thing. Being prepared in advance for the (unknown) is sabotage intended.
I have tried to remain optimistic about this broadcast network cluster fornification so far this Outdoor Nationals, but this is now morphing into something the powers at be, don't even understand, or can't explain until the day before the race, when it is (too late) to allow the viewership to make the proper adjustments to view the days race events in their entirety.
I think (we) as a subscribed readership, are owed an explanation for this lack of planning, and/or producing valid information to properly view the intended broadcast programming to the intended viewing audience.
Seriously, In my opinion, this is inexcusable without explanation to your reader/viewership.
And if an explanation is not forthcoming, then this is not appropriate and accurate journalism practice.
All due respect, to those managing this multi-media publication, as I think you know who you are...
Sincerely...
PS I hope this is a publication deadline editing omission, and both (second) 250 and 450 motos will be aired on NBC/NBCSN, if not, shame on those in authority...
@caseypons: I'm looking at the schedule that was published before the series started. It looks like Budds Creek is the only one with this schedule. It shows NBCsports with the remainder of the 2nd 250 motos, although the section for Washougal is confusing.
Well Now: Excuse me for thinking all Second 250/450 Motos were to be broadcast on NBC/NBCSN. According to the following May 4th posted AMA National Motocross TV Schedule, someone decided for reasons unknown to me, why this weekend would be the (ONLY) date on the tour that the Second 250 Moto was (not) worthy of viewing, if you were (not) a FuelTV subscriber.
All those Comcast subscribers, say "I," Thank You!!!
An oversight possibly, but doubtful...
A misleading and disappointing outcome from those who would think consistency in broadcast media production scheduling was something to rely on, you bet your sweet ass-umptions...
My apologies to those within RacerX whom I may have offended for comments of inaccurate and inappropriate journalism practices.
For whomever decided that the second 250 moto scheduling at Budds Creek needed to take a drastic tack from the norm, go to your room, without your supper and stay there until you are told to come out...
Red Bull Budds Creek National June 16 FUEL TV 1:00 PM 250 First Moto

June 16 NBCSN 4:00 PM 450 Second Moto
June 18 NBCSN 3:00 PM 450 Second Moto Re-Air
June 19 NBCSN 11:00 PM Highlight Show
In summary; My Bad for thinking there was a God...
@LastBikeRM250; I just read your post after hitting send on my last nasty-gram.
Somehow, I will still feel a little like a violated 3rd grader tomorrow as the NBC screen fades to,"Dancing with Scars" after the Second 450 Moto post race interviews, instead of the Braaaaap, Braaaap, Braaaap from the 250f's... ;~{{{
it's hard to believe that anyone in the broadcast business can say that this scattered coverage is good for the fans/viewers and say it with a straight face. we buy the bikes, the gear, the energy drinks, tickets to the events, etc., but somehow the powers that be give us the shaft all summer long. that said - Tomac rules.
I'm with yzfsean on this one. Those of you who are cursing the TV schedule and complaining "Why not this?" or "Why not that?" don't seem to understand that MX isn't a big enough sport in the grand scheme of things to get the coverage you all seem to think we "deserve." Fuel is an up and coming network that is happy to take whatever motos they can get. NBC Sports is bigger, and apparently isn't willing to give MX any more than what we are getting. And NBC is one of the "bigs," so any time they're willing to broadcast a race live, they get it. If you're sitting there thinking MX Sports chose this schedule and passed up some better option, you're dreaming. We're big enough to get good coverage on a small channel like Fuel, but not big enough to get whatever we want on a bigger network like NBC Sports. And there surely is a reason why we're there instead of SPEED (who, if you recall, only carried second motos and weren't live all the time either). If you want top notch coverage, your best bet is to become a fan of a bigger sport. I know people are going to say, “I’m entitled to my opinion,” and of course you are. But I read these same comments week after week. You’re entitled to bang your head against a wall week after week as well … but I don’t recommend it.
@sef154....totally agree with all you have said. For most of the above comments, they would not be happy with anything that is not on a silver platter, hand fed.
Appreciate what we have (better than last year), support our sport, and as time goes on the coverage will improve.
I still remember when there was no coverage except ABC Wide World of Sports about 1 month after the race........
Stop whining about something you cannot change. Your complaints have been heard (MX Sports) wants it right too, just be patient and enjoy what you have, and don't complain about what you don't have............
here we go again,,how to watch,,ha ha ha,,this doesnt look like a thrown together backwoods sport now does it????,,,,one race- 4 motos and how many different channels and times???
How to watch the races today:
450 Moto1 - Laps 1 - 5 will be shown on Fuel. Laps 6 - 10 will be shown on NBCSN. Remaining laps will be shown on NBC.
250 Moto1 - Odd number laps shown on NBCSN, Even Laps will be shown on Fuel. Exception, Lap 7 and lap 12 will be shown of NBC.
450 Moto2 - Shots of the west and North side of the track will be on Fuel, Shots of the east and south side will be on NBC, and Henry Hill will be shown on NBCSN.
250 Moto2 - Laps will be randomly shown on all 3 networks.
Like said above, although a pain in the ass its positive that we are able to watch all of the motos in full. Sucks for the guys that don't have that channel. Unfortunately moto is not a big enough sport/money maker for a large network to carry the entire 4 hours. These networks make money off of ratings/advertising, and moto just does not have the following of stick and ball sports, Nascar, etc.
The TV coverage is terrible. Every year Davey says something to the effect of "we've got some really big things planned.."
Guess what? The TV coverage sucks. Very few people get Fuel TV. Moreover, splitting the motos between networks? Are you kidding? You've 100% guaranteed that only the most dedicated will watch and even then it's difficult.
If sucks that Fuel is not in HD on Dish network. Standanrd definition on a 120" projection screen is horrible.
@SeventiesRacer: Yes, I remember those days of the "70's too. But that was when when we had a running total selection of 3 channels to chose from. Technology has changed just a tad in case you have been napping.
But, if you think I am going to bite my tongue and be content with somebody deciding to (not) air the second 250 (and deciding) moto in the most prestigious National Championship series, when all other NBCSN race schedules prior and post to this week, then you can just go back in time a half century to the good ole days and the way things used to be.
My ENTIRE issue here is, that this one race, is completely different than the standard viewing scheduling set for the ENTIRE year. I don't have a problem with jumping from my TV to my computer, anytime of day or night to satisfy my passion for what we have been offered through-out the rest of the ENTIRE season. But, my issue is I do (NOT) have that option because of someones decision or indecision to not stick to the standard format chosen from the beginning of the season. I will get over it, and life will go on but, I am not going stand by and let people condemn me for voicing my opinion, on a poor decision that has effected (not) just me but, 100% of the Comcast subscriber-ship.
Thank you RacerX, for allowing me to voice my opinion on these boards.
And you wonder why the only sponsor you can get is Kleenex inc!! Cry me a river you pansy ass biotches!!
Now we've heard from the tough guy, sweet. No one who can get Fuel can complain, but I still dont understand the decision to not have it streaming. Who would rather watch their computer screen that their tv? How does this help Fuel? Maybe Fuel isnt to blame and Allisports has something else going that hour? It just seems odd.
we have a "paid program" on nbc. seriously !
GAh, can't see moto 2 for the 250s! lame.
But hey on the other hand I'll b able to see dungey win moto 2 by 40 seconds and have a nap.
screw this, I'm gonna do my laundry - that's how bad it is.
Yes coverage is awesome. My DVR missed the first moto of 450's and missed the last 10 minutes of the 2nd 250. The only reason I caught any of the 250's moto 2 is because I added 30 minutes to my record time. I guess I need to record the entire day on Fuel in order to catch the races? It really is bullsh#t that the networks can't set a schedule that they can stick to. This is the 2nd weekend I've missed racing as a result of constantly moving things around and changing names so that my DVR doesn't record at the right time or at all.
UFC is not what I want to see when I sit down to watch moto, cycling is not what I want to see when sit down to watch moto. I am so f#cking annoyed right now. Would it be so difficult to play the the 250/450 moto one back to back in a 2 hour episode and then do the same for moto2? Obviously it is, let's play the races all over the place and if you're lucky enough to catch it I guess you're lucky. Yes we are supposed to see 4 hours of coverage but it's not happening for me. Coombs used to have his email available on this site but I can't find it anymore. I would love to complain. F#ck this.
I set my DVR ahead of time for each moto. I came in from mowing the lawn a half hour after the first race began, started up the DVR, and watched four full motos. No issues. By fast-forwarding the commercials, I saw the whole thing in 3 1/2 hours. Absolutely NO problems! If you got an infomercial, that was a decision made at your local station, not NBC, and MX Sports had nothing to do with that. If you don't get FUEL, tough luck. (I do wish they broadcast in HD, but oh well.) Feel free to go back and read my first post here. Try to let it sink in. I'm quite sure that MX Sports is doing the best they can to please the greatest number of people while getting the best exposure our small sport can get. It's not fantasyland; advertising drives virtually every aspect of this, and we're getting the best we can at this point in time. Trust me, you couldn’t do any better.
