Thanks for the link Jim, thats a great angle.
Thanks for the great new angle JIMBO! Did it distract him " Yes " Did it make him crash " Not even close " When you consider these guys react to guys right in front of them cartwheeiling, endoing and washing out, this crash could have been avoided and was NOT caused by the infamous track crosser.
I am sure Stewart saw him and thought what the hell, but as quickly as he became aware, he also processed that it was not an issue, threat or anything that he would have to take evasive action for. Shiz happens and it happens to Stewart more than it happens to Dungey. End of story.
Sorry, don't see it. Those guys have awesome reflexes! I guess we will hear something about his condition about an hour before the next race.
I agree, this crash had NOTHING to do with the person crossing and ALL to do with Stewart... Its clearly his own fault. They make split second decisions all the time within inches of each other... Hes just digging for an excuse but this ones not flying...

James seems to be positive and hopefully back next week, to make 2012 exiting.
Guess u have to go down racing his speed.
The "crash" starts at :25 and the rest is him trying to save AT SPEED. Maybe he was distracted and because of that caught a line or rut (only takes a couple of inches) he wasn't familiar with , got all funky chicken sideways and went down ...hard to say , maybe not.....but since everybody on here rides as fast or WAY FASTER than Havoc when their leading a national off a blind jump and some F'IN IDIOT is crossing the track,..... i'll take your word over his...why does he even need to make excuses.. everybody is out from crashing but him and Dungey(who just came back from not racing from injury also)....If Havocs done the racing , that class will suck. At least 2nd through 5th will be interesting...I guess. There are some people on here that are even glad he went down ...it bothers me any racer would be glad to hear another went down...even if you "predicted it' ....like some ridiculous psychic loser. Really don't care who's "fault" it was ...its now just a way of life that there is a serious injury every race.
JS7 the human lawn dart. No matter what color bike it's the same out come. Excuses, excuses. JS7 can change lines in an instant while lapping someone or when someone swaps. Excuses. Brain fade equals crash. Look back at most oh his crashes and you will see it's loss of concentration. The man is a great rider but crashes a lot.
Although some Dungey fans argued with me over the past few weeks, I still feel that the 450 was over anyway ... barring unforeseen circumstances. And if Stewy does not return, it will be all Dungey ... ZZZ.
At least the 250 class has been good. As of now, it would seem difficult to predict a winner.
Hand gate, really? It is James Stewart though so of course he's making up another hand injury to get away from Dungey this summer.

The MX expert "Red54m" has spoken everybody...we can now put this to rest i guess!! Shut the f--k up red!!
@theysaidwhat.....I swear there are 3 or 4 guys that just come on here no real moto knowledge or takes on the race ...just start with the personal attacks and F the whole show up......today..you are one...what did @red say that was so far off...at least it was a moto take....his opinion differs from mine MOST of the time..but I respect it and don't expect everyone to agree with me... sh&t I'm wrong about half the time (maybe more). How about what YOU thought happened , form an actually opinion....try it ..we promise to not laugh to hard unless god forbid its really funny...did you see the race? that should get you started.
@ tonewall
Hey tonedeaf go back in your Wyoming hole and shut your pie hole . My buddy Deadmau5 told me where you live. Lock your windows bubba's comin for you Sasquatch breath.............
acually welker told me he used to ride bisson that were faster than your slow honda butt
@ tonewall take a viagra and call me tonight
If JS wins the next 6 races both motos he will be tied in the points. If he cannot race this year then Dungey gets to beat up on those inept riders thats 2 or 3 seconds a lap slower then him. I think JP can beat most of the men in the 450 class.
I say that stupid track worker should be barred from all motocross tracks from now on.
WHAT IS THE GUYS NAME THAT RAN ACROSS THE TRACK??
therealPuke ...lol....Wyoming ? yep you got me.. been ridin honda powered bison up in wyo........geezus sprout your even dumber than I thought...I rest my case....Sorry I don't argue with 12 yr olds. Good luck with this evenings sh*tstirring session on mommys computer. Your boring me boy.....
@yogi13
His name was :::::::::::: TONEWALL
I don't think the crash was inevitable but it did look like James went a little wider than intended. He admitted it distracted him for a second. That being said I doubt James would've crashed if the dimwit didn't run across the track. He should be fined and banned. He obviously didn't realize JS was coming or seriously misjudged his speed. He could've killed himself or a rider.
@Mr MX ...was that a trick question..yep my office and i sold some nice encyclopedias today. you're not foolin anybody. you have a tell.
Go to MXA and watch JS7 crash as he is coming toward you. JS7 clearly swapped going into the ruts, the person crossing the track was long gone by the time JS7 got there. Must be the Suzuki?? What's next Honda, KTM????
@Jimbo MX374.......thanks for the link. Earlier I had given JS7 the benefit of the doubt that he knows better than anyone exactly what had happened. Still believe that he was distracted for the initial rear end swap that took place, but, that he cross rutted through his own inability to focus at that time, for whatever reason.
It was said earlier, and I agree, that JS7 can / has / continues to make split second decisions when he carves his way through traffic, and, this is one of the talents that he posseses which makes him as fast as he is, BUT, the downside to this talent is that in that same instant he can make a mistake and hit the dirt. He has in the past.
Which one was it??? Track crosser, or lack of focus for that split second. My opinion based on what I saw in the video, and based on experience of falling quite frequently (albeit at much slower speeds) that JS7 cross rutted and fell over irrespective of whether the track crosser had been there or not.
Racing accident clear and simple. I could be wrong tho.........JMHO.
I think jessica patterson could take dungey. 2nd place is the first loser, what sad is stewart could of backed it down and still beat the little f**, you dont have to keep embarrising these other 39 guys, your in first within 2 laps, scunge cant even pass a lapper, you can match his speed and twist it enough every time he gets close, screw trying to please your so called fans, ride along next to the little ***** or behind him like he does you and the say 5 minute mark 2 laps left pass em and be done. Come on weimer 2nd, short 3rd you could sit at the finish for 15 seconds, finish do your podium speech and they still be racing for 3rd. Mcgrath lost a lot of points to emig the year emig won the the title after MC broke his foot, 1 point seperated them in the final moto. If any body can go 1-1 the rest of the series you can.
@yamaha845.......ring, ring, ring, time to wake up from your time in la-la land and come back to reality.
Your comments above can only come from your dillusional state while in a dream like reality.
Fact is Stewart did back it down as you suggested, just too far into the ruts, and, gravity did the rest. Those are the facts......
Anything else is your wishful thinking, or is it your personal guilt because your favorite rider threw away a potential championship, or, because this will end the world as you know it?????........ just askin'
Could have caused James to lose momentary awareness as no racer wants to run into a person. Point is, the guy should NOT have ran across the track period.
BTW, how come so many people on this forum know EXACTLY what was going on in James mind when the guy ran across the track lol? Maybe we should have a psychic section added to the forum or just admit that JS most probably would have not crashed if there wasn't a person in front of him running across.
While the 450 season was over before it began, there is some actual racing going on in the 250 class. And although Barcia seems to be expected to win High Point, perhaps it could get competitive again.
Very Sad. The Mean Girls have taken over these message boards. Some are drawing on their vast experience of leading nationals to tell us exactly why Stewart crashed.
And to those who post 1000s of words a day, get a BLOG (or a life). If anyone cares what you think, they'll find it and read it. Racer-X is not going to "discover" you and give you a job, so let that fantasy go.
@TherealPugue So, you want Tonewell to take a viagra and call you later? Not sure how to take that one. LOL This isn't a dating site!!! eeeewwww! Other than that, it seems to me there are two sides to every story and the same people always take the same sides. Don't know if that is fan loyalty or simple closed door bias thinking. Sometimes we all need to think out side the bun. I, too, may be guilty of this. As sometimes my wishful thinking gets the best of me. But, it doesn't matter what we think. The only thing that counts is what goes in the history books. Bring on Mt. Morris! And hopefully Bubba comes back. And I am a Dungey fan! But a fan of racing first.
Wow. Such clear partisan bias on both sides. I happen to respect Stewart's talent a great deal. I think he is one of the best riders in the history of the sport, but he certainly has his weaknesses, as well. As far as the crash at Colorado, I think all this talk about the guy crossing the track having nothing to do with it is ridiculous. Yes, any rider at the top of the sport needs ultra-quick reflexes, and yes, Stewart has shown he has these when it comes to passing other riders. But to come over a blind jump at speed on the fastest section of the track and see something totally unexpected is completely different than seeing another rider doing something on the track.
Those that say the crash happened well after he passed the guy and farther down the track sound like a 16-year old girl on the freeway driving 70 mph 5 feet behind the car in front of her...total lack of understanding of the physics involved. The combination of speed/momentum/distraction is almost impossible to calculate. Only Stewart would know. However, after watching the video of the race, one thing is very clear: every other lap, Stewart took a line in the center of the straightaway leading into the corner. When he crashed, he was far to his left of the normal line he had been using and got a bad hop going into the unfamiliar rut as a result. I think it's very clear that the line change was in reaction to the unexpected appearance of the fool crossing the track.
Whether or not it was Stewart's fault that he cross rutted, one thing is, I think, abundantly clear - If the photog had not crossed the track when he did, the crash would never have happened.
And @pizzacorner, your bias is showing. Please provide a link to Chad Reed's comment about Stewie's crash. I'm waiting...............Yeah, didn't think so, because he never said it. Lars Lindstrom is NOT Chad Reed.
@pizzacorner
I'm a racing fan first and respect all these guys as they can run circles around the rest of us. Second, I'm an aussie living in canada so I should be defending what Reed said on twitter right? Nope!!! Reeds come around quite a bit since starting his team and I respect that, but he always finds a way to put James down and I don't like it. How does Chad know what went through James mind the exact moment James saw the guy running across the track? He doesn't, just like the rest of us, but it's fair to say it was a momentarily odd distraction seeing a person cross the track at that instant and that could have easily distracted James enough to get cross rutted and crash.
