Great season for Millsaps and Brayton. In a season that had a lot of ups and down these two guys showed resilience and determination. Also really great to see Dungey close the supercross season out with a win. I like Dungey's attitude and style--class act.

Millsaps gets my vote for the "hardcore" rider of the season. I know Brayton go the "rock hard, ride hard" award, and deserves some respect, but I like the fact that Millsaps was the underdog of JGR and came on top.

Great season, a lot of injuries, but the mishaps opened the door for the other guys who put in the time to have some time in the spotlight.

Outdoors here we come!

But great season despite all the injury's it had a lot of exciting moments and very unpredictable things happen. I thought it was really cool to see Barcia sign with Factory Honda, I really want him to ride the 450 to make it more interesting but it doesn't sound he will. I really liked Millsaps, Brayton, Weimer and Metcalfe all year mainly because they stayed in it the whole season, which I think is something to be happy about this season. Congrats to Barcia and Tomac! Heres to a great Outdoor season!

seriously guys this is racing and whoever wins then good for them!!! I see too much gay crap on here about the racers attitude!! this isn't a beauty contest.... who gives a crap about the racers attitude and their dreams of saving the world or what they have to say about the other racers.. It's all about crossing the finnish line first!!!!

Hey Alessi what is up with sticking your leg out on the start if you cant keep anyone behind you.You don't look ready to race anymore.

As bad as Alessi rode, he should just give it up. After the second lap, it is standard practice, for him to throw out the anchor and go backwards..I imagine he'll do the same in the upcoming Outdoors.. Millsaps has been on it the last few races, hopefully he can continue to push forward in the Outdoors. Hopefully him, Dungy, and possibly Stewart can make an exciting Outdoor season.

It would be cool to see Rattray on Villipoto's bike outdoors. I haven't see the leg stick out block move since two weeks ago in the 250 C class. Did your dad teach you that move M. Alessi ? LOL

Alessi was just trying to keep is balance when he stuck his leg out, IMO.

Hey there Canadianmxfan, you have a bad attitude about people writing about attitudes, but thank you for your words of wisdom. Although you might think a rider's attitude has nothing to do with the sport, I disagree. It's a blog, it's opinion, but don't be upset, the mxfans of the world appreciate your introspective comments. You have provided proof that even the most simple minded fans have opinions too...

I agree @ Metta.

The racing was good. The year end totals were whacked out seeing how RV still had a huge points lead and an incomplete season. Sheer dominance. Millsaps was a real bargain for JGR that paid handsomely. Way to go Davi !!!

I really hope that JGR compensates davi , because they really screwed him with their greed for a championship and spending all their money on stewart (no results=Karma) i heard he only got $50,000 this year with no bonus which is plain crap and dont give me the field was diluted crap its racing to win you have to show up and davi showed up every race he deserves a bonus, hopefully JGR learned their lesson from this

I should have said " that paid JGR handsomely". I do hope that Davi gets his just rewards. At the very least his stock did rise for future contracts.

hey Yamadog, I think were all simple people in the bigger picture....All the racers are amazing people to get to were they are !! and it bugs me to see people write about a rider for good or bad like a certain rider is better or worse than others....I think they are all equall as people !!!!! ALthough i have b!tched about riders in the past! lol

I'm glad to see Davi get his "props". Looks like he turned out to be JGR's number 1 guy instead. Hope he carries this confidence into the outdoors.
For some reason, he was able to ride that same Yamaha bike all the way through the season without any major crashes and some solid results. No excuses from Davi either. He admitted his faults and followed the program JGR had and it worked. That's a real man. When it comes to admitting you're not cutin' it and you need help, the team's there to back you up and Milsaps is proof "it wasn't the bike".

Dungey was on fire. Looked good rode a solid race.
Alessi rode as he always does.
Brayton did a great job of catch-up.

The lites class provided all the excitement for the evening with a great shootout race.

Outdoors... we'll have to wait and see.

LooseDIRT, with no offense to Millsaps, its hard to make an equal comparison to him and JS, as they are normally running a different pace on the track. Davi had a great season and I congradulate him on his 2nd in the championship, but his results really changed when the top guys in the series dropped out with injuries. No one is saying that the Yamaha can't be ridden without crashing. It's pushing for those extra tenth's of seconds it seems where James could not get the bike to work. And to win races, that is what you need to do. JS is giving up a whole lot to make this change, not just in money, but he was also looking at a car deal after his MX days with JGR. For him to walk away from that shows to me how much he feels that he was at a dead end over there, not with JGR and their effort or program, but the machine that he was on he felt they couldn't get to be competitive to run at the top without riding over his head. Now if there were other Yamahas winning races (again with a healthy field, Milsaps was 15 seconds back or RD at Vegas) then I could possibly see some of the harsh criticism, but he has really been the only one to win races with the bike. I stated in another post, Pourcel got a lot of flack last year. I am not a big Pourcel fan, but I think he realized that he was not going to be competitive on the bike in the rough outdoors and he'd rather not ride than hurt himself.

RV was in a asimilar position last year. He stated that he was riding way too hard and the bike wearing him out outdoors becasue of how stiff it was. Luckily for him Kawasaki listened and brought out the 2012 model months early, just for him.

We all have to remember that eery rider out there puts their life on the line every time they line up to race, to put on a show for us fans. This is not basketball where if a player is having an off day or not playing well for whatever reason, they can possibly die from having a bad game.

I think as true fans we let the Nationals start, and take it from there before we write the same garbage week in and week out. So many people on here write posts like they are hanging out with a rider, JS for example every day. They know how he trains, they know what he eats, they listen to him every day just trash talking his bike and team, trianer, etc. he commits felonies every day, etc.

We have a second start to the year next week, although some key players are missing, I still can't wait. And a big reason for that is to see if the ol #7 can come back and make it an exciting series with RD and crew.
