Michael Leib to Race GP of Mexico
Wednesday, May 2, 2012 | 11:25 AM
On the heals of his excellent ride at Sunday's Italian Grand Prix, Monster Energy Yamaha has invited Michael Leib to do at least one more race as the replacement rider for the injured Zach Osborne. Leib, a privateer who hails from California, finished as the overall runner-up last weekend at Fermo, leading much of the second moto in MX2 before being overtaken by title contenders Jeffrey Herlings and Tommy Searle. Leib, who has been preparing a Honda CRF250 for the Hangtown Classic on May 19, will ride the May 12-13 Grand Prix of Mexico for Steve Dixon's GP team. He then plans to return to California for the start of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships.
