Track's a damn highway!! How do they get any meaningful feedback on suspension setup when no national is that smooth?
Cool video though, reminds me why Motocross is by far the coolest sport out there. And I watch alot of forms of racing......
Seriously.... looks kinda boring, but can't wait for the nationals!
Why is he on a 250?
At least they are not playing that lame ass disco sounding music. Nice hearing a bike for a change!
Get off that 250f and get on the 450 !!! Your wasting your time in that class !!
He looks pretty good on that thing but I swear I watched a video the other day of Barcia on a 450 and he looked much better on the big bike. I cant wait for the nationals to come to colorado
Ditto, Carnage!!! Finnaly a video where we can hear the bike and not some pathetic rap music or blaring rock! Good job!!!
I think this year he has a legit shot at the title. First 3 years in the class he didn't seem to be fast enough of the time and combo of riding the 450 last year and whatever he's doing differently this year, I would leave him on a 250f and spend the offseason getting ready for the 450 class.
doesnt look very aggessive
I don't think he's wasting his time on the 250. He can ride it in the 450 class if he wants. As far as the honda goes, it cant be beaten. They don't say "Best on Earth" for nothing. It's a shame to see a bunch of squids buy a kawi and slap on the PC graphics and think they're hot stuff. If they only knew what they were missing out on. Thanks to Honda, (pronounced Hon-der) pioneers of the sport, Suzukis and kawasakis are rideable but should be fined a hefty price for copyright infringement. CROOKS!!!
I was kinda hoping to see him on a big ole 450, still cool though. Does anyone know if he will be doing one more outdoor season in the 250 class?
The main pic to click on this link (& the one when the video is over) looks like Mike LaRacco .......exactly like LaRacco !!!! In fact I only clicked on it cause I thought it was some footage of him ridin with Barcia
HOLY SHI* @BOB50,....I woulda bet my life that was Mike LaRoccos eyeballs in the main picture. WOW, that looks like Mikes eyeballs.
Same reason I clicked, I figured it had to be a article on LaRocco :0
Here is what I saw.....
Who knows why, but I saw a rider PRACTICING in a sensible manner, not being on the edge, not risking injury prior to the outdoor (should I say real?) season. Riding the bike, being smooth (yes, on a non challenging track...for that caliber of rider, that is). Like someone, LaRocco perhaps (can't be JB1, right?), was using their brain. Just riding around, staying in touch with their machine, honing their edge...not riding on the edge. There is a difference.
Waaaaaay back in the day (right after electric lights I think) I managed a team for a few years (regional) and I never asked the riders to go all out in practice, or on practice days at the track. Practice was for learning to ride better and faster, not for learning to heal from injuries.........I used to let the riders know that even race day practice should not be full out. Non timed of course. Lot of the faster riders would never ride together at practice on race day. No sense showing others what you learned prior to the event....
Perhaps with todays pressure this has changed. But back in the day the guys (and gals now) who won the most got the fat contracts and moved up the the national level, and the guys who went the fastest in practice were the guys WE watched to see if we could learn something. Many time we would see little things that helped OUR guys make improvements.
Your mileage may vary.........
@everybody. Is it the ROCK in the pic? Where is the Justache? Did he shave it off since New Orleans? Now I got this bug up my azz!
why does anyone think he would be riding a 450? He has a contract to ride a 250 indoors and out this year.
All This confusion is because last year in the outdoors his team, along with Honda pulled him out of a 250 championship he was and is paid to ride in, to ride the 450, but it was only for a limited time. It was a an unprecedented act of running from a competitor! That is how much he doesn't want to lose to Dean Wilson, he'll quit the series not to be beaten by him.
There are a bunch of seriously uninformed goons on this site. Justin Barcia is riding the 250 motocross class. He was contracted by Geico Honda to ride the 250 supercross and motocross classes. He has won the 250 supercross title, and now they expect him to win the 250 motocross title for them.
