Kid Roc ought to be a contender in the great outdoors...if he can adjust to the tracks quicly, he has the skills to regularlly put the KTM toward the front of the pack....
I think he is a little over-rated and overhyped. This season was not his first in supercross, and he struggled with it. The hype and pressure was a little more than he could handle. Maybe he will relax a little more outdoors. If not, he will have a long season..
Sure KR70 is overrated in SX. It is not his first year but then again its only his second year ever riding a SX track. I look forward to watching him this summer.
To KEN - The sand at Southwick is not like you have seen anywhere in the world. Hope you win the championship and shut some of the people who think KTM will never win a championship here in the States
eli tomac or justin barcia
Hopefully KRoc will show us what he's got during the outdoor season. The lites class is going to be stacked this year with some talented riders. The kid to beat will be Wilson, let's see what Barcia has for him. Also with Bogle, Musquin,Bagget,Durham and any other I may have missed it should be good. I think the lites may be more interesting than the 450's.
Krock and Musquin are bringing 3 world championships to the Nationals this year. The presure will be on them to win the tittle. It's not going to be easy as that class has a ton of tallent. Can't wait to watch!
Ken Roczen is a welcome newcomer to the US, in my opinion. For all those that have criticized his SX skills, keep in mind his entire life has (not) been arenacross as a child, like 99% of the American riders whom he is competing with, and this is only his (first) full 250 class year. Sure he rode a few races last year to acclimate himself to this years season.
And secondly he is (only) a 17 year old kid, with a couple parents from Germany who have raised a (quality) young man, with a strong desire to race dirt bikes. So, be realistic. Nobody said he was going to win every race, if you want to act like they did, then that is your false perception of reality. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
@ caseypons None of the US riders grow up racing Arenacross. I can only think of 4 guys that have ever raced Arenacross, Bowers,Gilmore,Sipes and Brayton and none of those guys are at the top of the lites class except for Sipes and he has not been a factor this year. Also Roczen raced 6 races in lites and 3 on the 350 and 2 main events at the finals. So for anyone to say that he is still learning is just another excuse coming from his fans. God knows that we here plenty of them from Roczen himself. He hasn't been a contender for the title yet. IMO his problem is he doesn't handle pressure well at all. Kind of like Stewart, as long as he had no pressure he was untouchable. A lot of that comes with being 17, and a lot of it is growing up and never racing with guys that are as fast or faster than him. I was a big fan but he lost me when he jumped on the excuse bus. I think he is going to have a tough time outdoors but the biggest thing that he has going for him is that he has Roger in his corner. The lites class outdoors this year is going to be insane.
