We spotted this post on the JGR Toyota/Yamaha team's website this afternoon. It reads as follows:

James Stewart Injury Update
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (March 23, 2012) James Stewart will not race round 12 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship this Saturday at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, ON. Stewart, who suffered a crash at last weekend’s event in Indianapolis has been thoroughly examined by his medical team and the determination has been made that he is not yet ready to return to racing.

“Unfortunately injury is a part of sports,” said team owner Coy Gibbs. “The safety of our riders is our highest priority and we want James to have time to recover and not risk further injury by coming back too soon.”

Stewart’s teammate, Davi Millsaps will be on the gate in Toronto. SPEED will begin live coverage at 7:30 p.m. (EST).

You can tell the team has an NFL influence. They don't even say what the injuries are.

This will be like the years when the Canada race wasn't fully embraced and most of the top guys didn't even go to it. Remember when Heath Voss was the World Supercross Champion all because the Canadian round was mandatory and he was the best guy that showed up for it... classic. I think Villopoto should race his BBR bike to make it interesting.

At least he won't take out another rider this weekend. Get well soon.

Exactly, and J-bomb almost never says what his are. We should start calling him turtle-j cus he is in this little shell and never lets us in. So now RV has lost all his main comp, must be nice not to have to race anyone for the win.

Couple of podium spots are now open for those that want it.
This season tanked real quick, going to be a long viewing night.

Boring 2012 SX Season - Canard & Reed are sorely needed...Dungey not bad either.

Could this be the start of an excuse (excuses) to not ride the nationals? I sincerely hope not. Never got to watch him race outdoors and would like to. His team is delusional if they think if he sits out the nationals he will come in to A1 better prepared. Not a chance. I would rather see James skip the rest of SX and prep for outdoors.

This bites! I was so looking forward to Toronto when I bought my tickets back in November. Not quite so now.

Maybe Canada won't let him in the country because of his run in with the law?

@CodyRem,, JS can't "skip" the rest of the season. What if he did, then RV gets hurt ???? If you are able to race, you should, unless you are completely out of it in the last few rounds..

Is anybody else thinking what Im thinking? Dungey is still ahead of stew by quite a few points.RV has got a huge lead in points but the way this season is giong u never know if RV will have a big crash or injury, i mean if u look at his past he does have some big crashes. If Dungey came back the race after toronto he would still be second in points and if RV gets injured the championship is all Dungey if he can finish the season out strong. It might seem a little far fetched, but i think its possible the way the season has gone.

Does his probation allow him to leave the country?

What is up with all the idiots that say Stewart is taking out people? In some cases yes, but this incident HE FELL THAN GOT RUN OVER!

@bermblaster... No, that isn't logical at all. RV2 now has no one to challenge him, not to mention he really isn't even known for crashing besides stl in 2010, then his motocross season he sat out of due to knee surgery. RV has it in the bag.

This season went from great to sh..
I think RV should race a 2 stroke, that would be awesome. or if RV doens't make the main like Jacksonville last year.

Why dont they tell us what his injury is?? My guess is a concussion, but whats with the secrets, its kinda dumb..

Even if he has a minor(?) head injury -and we still don't seem to know for certain- Stewart is smart to sit out until the Doctors are certain he's good to go. His odds of winning the championship are decreasing weekly but more importantly, another fall and knock-on-the-mellon is not worth the long-term health risks... Not something to be messing around with. Good luck and heal-up, James Stewart.

I think Villopoto should take two rounds off and go lay on the beach in maui and drink margaritas all day- then go do some elephant hunting in africa- then come back just in time to seal the deal and get back into fighting shape for outdoors- rested refreshed and ready to kick some butt. Lets see if Aldon will go for it?

CodyRem wrote: 5:13pm March 23, 2012

mxmofo, good point. I hadn't thought of that. How about as soon as he is mathematically eliminated concentrate on outdoors.

Yamahauler152 wrote: 6:14pm March 23, 2012

now if villopotos bike could just blow up on the gate we could have a great race in toronto...

So he was cleared to race Indy but not Toronto? Something isn't adding up. And what is his injury? They never said.

Profile Picture
B-KR wrote: 7:24pm March 23, 2012

His website said it was a concussion a day or two after the race, for those wondering what is hurting.

This is beginning to be comical. @241 – Another sour fan. Cause if you weren’t, you wouldn’t care what JGR is spending or if JS is racing.

What a joke!!!!

Get well soon JS
