RV! bummin for Reed. im with the group that isnt Reed fans but over the last 3 yrs ive been cheering him to finish a close 2nd to RV! Nobody has the total package that Villopoto is bringing every race! Reed had everything but the training. Dungey has it all but the bike. JS is lacking in multiple areas. its still early and crazy things happen but ill tell ya right now, just wait until the nationals start. There will be no lapse or championship hangover for Villopoto, his mind and body are dialed to the best training in the biz, and his bike is great.
as for Dungey he just looked like a different guy on the podium. almost mad even. certainly frustrated. i gotta believe Roger told him from day 1 that he cant take big risks. they need him healthy or that bike will suck next season too. expect a similar situation outdoors. imo. hope he doesnt override it
and lets honk the NY MX horn!! BEEP BEEP we are hot right now! great weekend for Barcia, Nicoletti, Kiniry! Scott Sheak is back! Weinert Training Facility!! and a mild winter good for many practice days!!
Starcross of Mantova, Italy, not Mantov in Czech Republic.
The way I see it there are only two riders who have the will and the fight to take it to RV.
One has a hurt knee.
The other wears the #1 plate in the east...
That kid Barcia is hungry. I can't wait till next year - not saying he will win off the bat. But he will win.
It is amazing that people think Reed is not as fit as Villapoto. All the top riders are fit to ride for 17 minutes at full bore. If you are ever in the pits take a look at Windham's chiseled body and tell me this guy is not fit. Will and fight has nothing to do with guys not winning. The fact is right now RV is better then everyone else especially in the corners where races are won. Reed lost time in corners to him and had to push the other sections to match speed and that is where he crashed.
Reed is fit enough, I havent seen him fade, that is the true test and he ahsnt faded.. Heck, he gave up 20 points over the weekeknd and is still 12 points ahead of Stewart, so I think Reed was ready for this season.. RV is the total package, he has the best trainer in the business, who Stewart fired, and has the talent to win on his ride. Talent and training is a dangerous combo for opponents..
@ Claxton - I agree with you mostly ...especially corner speed. I have been tooting that horn for RV for years.
Fight and will do make a difference - are you serious?
Reeds a fighter ask RC ask JS - the only guy to fight them hard for c-ships..
TOTALLY a bummer for REED. Guy easily had that race in the bag.
Way impressed with Gavin Faith. Rides a big bike pretty dang good. Nice work.
Jeff Alessi nice Holeshot sir! anybody know why he didnt finish the race!
@Red44 - super dumb move firing Baker - but - respectfully, the Stewarts haven't been making the best choices of late have they?
Reed at 28, with a firstborn young son, and a full time team owner roll, and having a hand/wrist injury leading up to the season start, is just as fit as Villopoto?? NO effing way dudes.
Think of Reeds career. chasing Carmichael, he was much like Dungey, always on the podium, but just not willing to hang it out and ride the edge like RC or Stew.
In the last few years Reed has been riding more aggressive and confident and i think it has huge amounts to do with Reed seeing the end in site. Things change inside most men when they have a child, esp a son, and things change inside men when we realize we cant do the things we once could. and thats 2 nasty getoffs in back to back seasons with Millville. Villopoto hasnt let off the throttle since MXoN 07.
I really like watching Reed compete, he is awesome. and really good interviews too.imo. i hope he will be back 100%. but even at 100% he is not Villopoto.
Speed Channel showing highlights of Chads get offfs at Millville and Dallas last night, OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope he heals up soon.
Those Points for the SX lites class listed above are not correct.
Herlings beating Carioli..nice. And who would have thought we would see the day with SIX KTM's in a 250 main and only ONE Yamaha (except for maybe some executives in Austria) ???? And only 5 Yamahas total in the mains!
