BTOSports.com/Butler Brothers San Diego Recap

Monday, February 13, 2012 | 11:15 AM
San Diego, CA -  As the BTOSports.com/BBMX/Palmetto Suzuki team rolled in to San Diego, team riders Jimmy Albertson, Jason Thomas and Matt Goerke were ready to take on the tough San Diego track.   Morning rain and cloud cover during the afternoon sessions lead up to a clear and exciting night of racing.

In the heats, Matt Georke would finish a strong 7th place and transfer to the main event.  Jason Thomas would make the main as well, grabbing the final transfer spot in the heat race.  “Top” Jimmy Albertson would struggle in the heat race and in the LCQ where a crash would eventually end his night.

In the main, both Goerke and JT would charge hard out of the gate.  Goerke finished 17th after hitting the ground mid race.  JT rode strong and avoided the carnage in the whoops to finish a season best 11th place in the main event.

“I rode solid tonight.  That’s all I can ask for” said Thomas. “I rode my own race, nothing too exciting.  I put in 20 solid laps in the main.  Things are looking up and will get better from here on out.”  JT$ is feeling confident leaving San Diego and is ready to tackle the east coast rounds.
