I am not a Stewart fan but that was definately a solid ride.
I like the boneheads who were baggin' on Emig regarding James doing "something nobody else is doing" on the on / off table....Either those folks simply cant tell the difference in the line James was taking or they are clearly blind...RV even said he didnt see that line until the main when he saw James do it.....too funny....awesome ride by james considering his night!
Is it just me or does the entire 2nd level of the stadium look totally empty?
KilloMoto, I am one of those boneheads. I personally saw RV do the same line (granted it was later in the race) and several guys in the 250 class were doing it (I watched these races on speed after the 450s ran on cbs.) and my friend at the races said some of the guys were trying it in practice. JS did ride very well, but my whole point is he is gloryfied so much more than the others. More times than not when he tries some crazy new line it comes up and bites his ass. I hate to change his flow and natural way he rides, but I hate more the feeling his luck is running out on surviving these crazy wrecks he keeps having. The guy acts like he is made of rubber and he's not. I've watched him beat the shit out of himself trying to beat RC, last year was terrible. I have not seen another rider go down as often and as hard as him through the years.
I don't feel he does stuff the other riders can't, but rather the other guys won't risk what he is willing to risk. On top of that he has hurt a lot of other riders while hurting himself. The guy rides his heart out and does not ever intend to ride dirty.
So freakin cool!!!! ..... keep em comin
if they keep it on two wheels , its going to come down to RV and JS ...if , looks as if the rest are physched out .. who wouldnt be , with James on your ass , you know he will find a way tp pass , thats his job , and instinct ..
sweet crash ha.
i am not a james stewart fan AT ALL but after taking a wreck like he did and to come back and finish 2nd is very impressive just like pheonix 2010 he got landed on and still got to the main. a crash like that then to come back and do as well as he did after getting beat up kinda reminds me of chads wreck at millville. like i said before not a james fan but still am impressed with his ride. go RV
They should mount the 'go-pro' on backwards sometime- that would be fun to watch.
@mxchampion - Don't you dare to compare Reed's crash at Millville to any other crash in the history of the sport. The "Which Crash is Worst" police will be swarming this thread like Minnesotans to a buffet line.
@MX BOB. LOL. chads wreck was alot worse but i just used it as a analogy.
or a example. if james had of taken a wreck like chad he woulda been crying like a little baby
mxchampion are you kidding stewart is as tough as they come watch last years daytona he crashed hard a came bact to finish 9 th he did that wall jump
no one else did it . when reed he landing on the down side of the bank and championship was gone it scared him
A couple of thoughts:
1. The videos really bring home just how fast and dangerous this sport really is which gets lost a little bit sitting in the stands and even more so on TV
2. NOBODY, passes with greater ease than James.
3. RV won this race going away...
Wow, mxchampion actually makes a fair and neutral statement, only to follow it up with a typical one!! haha. These GoPro vids are pretty cool to watch!! That was a good ride!!
Damn, it surprises me how much SH&T people talk on how certain guys are pussies for not winning after a gnarly crash or being sick. A lot of guys ride under the radar with their injuries and most of you don't have a clue. I highly doubt any of you haters would tough it out like these guys.
Head injuries may not seem very painful but they do inhibit your reaction time no matter how light the case. I'm sure Stewart experienced several of those last year (especially Daytona). To come back from a crash like that in Daytona and still turn 4 seconds a lap faster than anyone else consistently deserves some respect. What about his 2 races with a broken navicular? This is the same injury that destroys Professional motorcycle racers careers. Rick Johnson's rein on top I'm sure would have lasted a lot longer if it wasn't for this break.
Go bubba! Your a bad azz
@ porcupinetree..........RV and Millsaps jumped that wall too did they not? RV did for sure.
@PW29......Now you're just making stuff up. 4 seconds a lap better than anyone else at Daytona last year? This isn't even remotely factual. JS was 1.75s faster for the first 2 laps before his yard sale. At least he did some cool jump though and got 9th though..........
It's gotta suck that the truth is so easily obtainable these days online.
Another truth about that race is that RV was very close to lapping stewart after he got up from his crash, and was about 1 min down. Yet he couldn't get that done. There was no way that JS was 4 seconds faster than the rest, that would be record breaking.
My mistake, just re-watched the race and realized that it came down to the final lap. He would have got him. I thought that it was sooner than that.
I hadn't watched that race in a while. I could of sworn thats what it was but it was 2 seconds and it wasn't consistent. You can see the lap times at amasupercross.com. He did get stalled up by some riders when he was coming back. Either way a crash like that and still put in faster lap times of the night is pretty respectible. The only reason I talk so much shit to everyone is because of the haters. No reason any of these riders should get treated so negatively.
retardcross no body jumped wall jump at daytona just js7 rv could not even lap him after he crashed 2 seconds a lap faster
RV did it 100%, granted it wasn't in the night show and it wasn't as clean as JS. I saw him do it a couple times in whatever session it was earlier in the afternoon. I tried to find video of it on youtube but couldn't, although there is mention of RV doing it in the comments in the videos of JS doing it . I don't see your point about not lapping JS, he was flying that night doing his usual thing and it was good for 9th, while the ginger finished 1st riding fast and in control.
Was reeds crash worse than JS's at millville in 06' or does the newbies timeline not go back that far?
Just stoking the fire!!
oh BTW Allessi Weimer and RV did the table table on press day for petes sake!! He (rv) meant that he didn't know it was a fast line to use in the main.
Sorry mount morris 06 - kind hard to keep up with this kids crashes.
remember the downhill double. dude rag dolled bad.
youtube it.
