R.I.P. Mark "Tex" Adams
Friday, January 27, 2012 | 10:05 AMFrom James Stewart:
"I got some horrible news that my practice mechanic Mark "Tex" Adams was hit by a car and killed this morning while on the side of the road helping someone whose car had broke down. I'm in disbelief that something so tragic could happen while helping someone else in need. I'm stunned because Tex was such a caring person. My heart goes out to his family. Damn this is a sad day. We love you Tex R.I.P."

I know this is asking a lot, but we can refrain from ripping on Stewart for just this story?
I never met him, but the fact he was helping someone out when the accident happened speaks to what kind of person he was. RIP Tex.
Good Call Bob
Im sure he was like family to the Stewarts', so very tragic. God Bless Mark's family and friends.
That sucks, this is very sad.
Also RIP to MIka Ahola, RACER X forgot about him, this is sad, too
Man! You just can't take life for granted. You just never know.
Even if Stewart is in someway envolved, this sucks...hope his family and friends get Gods confort soon.
Thats horrible news. Condolences to James and to marks family. Like to see stewie get a win for him. No ripping or booing. Good luck james.
The thing is "Tex" was being a good samaritan and who knows what the person thathit him was doing?
I too have helped people on the road. Now this is a note to all, if you do stop to helo someone always park so that your truck or car will deflect oncoming traffic just like the police do it is legal and safer. So far I have not been hit or you would not be reading this.
GOD Bless you "Tex" you were just doing what you thought needed to be done.
TO Tex and the Stewart families my prayers and heart are with you.
James, not sure if your reading these but here it is....
It was his time James.... when the father comes callin.... you cant refuse... he wont let ya.
What a sad thing. It is so hard to lose someone you are close to when they are taken so suddenly. Seems unfair to the rest of us left behind to miss them. You all know my thoughts on JS7 but this week I will put all of that aside in hopes that it is his week and that amidst all the booing he will endure in the stadium he will be able to block all that out with the sound of his friend congratulating him for a job well done.
God bless Tex. Sounded like a great dude. Sorry for your loss James. :( Praying for the families!
@normanmx,Did you not read the first post?
Dang that sucks. Hate hearing stories like this...
Our sport has been cursed lately!
I wonder what this means for the #7 the next couple of weekends....i hope the guy that hit him gets his ass handed to him if he was drunk or something. Very sad indeed.
So sad, sorry too tex's family! Rip TEX!!!
godspeed tex .good luck james sorry for your loss bro
Mark you were an amazing man while you were with us here on planet earth, you were always ready to help anyone out, even strangers which makes how you were taken from us so unavailable, and hard to digest. The times we spent working and partying together were those that legends are made from. Those memories are etched in my mind, May God be with you and your family, we will talk Moto again someday brother. R.I.P TEX!!
My drive into Tampa everyday I see these idiots texting. It should be outlawed and people need to be arrested. They are not paying attention to the road.
R.I.P TEX!! my harts for your family, sorry to hear this, good luck JS7
Thanks VISTAJIM, some people are idiots and normannmx is one of them, did you not click HERE for the Daytona Beach New Journal article normannmx, you freakin moron.
Although last year was my first year on the national circuit, Tex was always a cool guy to talk with at the races. My prayers are with his family. God Speed Tex.
Sad to hear this, I had people asking me about this cause my name is Mark Adams.
RIP, it's always sad to see someone pass when just trying to help someone else. I've been there before.
As a sidenote, most of us spend time on freeways, interstates, etc getting to riding spots, tracks etc. Please change lanes when someone is broke down on the side of the road. I couldn't believe it when I broke down myself, hardly anyone changed lanes and thought it was cool to do 80+ three to four feet away from my truck while I'm under it working with my legs hanging out... After a couple close calls I decided to be safe and stay away from my truck and the interstate and wait for a buddy to tow me to the next exit to complete the repair. Here in AZ we've had a bunch of State Patrol officers killed because of this also.
Another thing... don't text and drive.
HOPEFULLY JS7 can win one for Mark. Sucks that Mika Ahola also passed.
was on the side of the road checking the hitch on my trailor on way back from practice got hit by drunk driver, hit and run but got caught, wedged between van and trailer, cut my left leg off on sight and shattered my tib and fib in my right leg, what did he get a few years in jail for failure to render aid, god bless TEX, stewart and familys. get a win stewart.
