The purpose of the procedure was to stabilize the injured area. ‘“The surgery went exactly as planned,” said Trey’s brother Aaron. “He is still in some pain and discomfort but is able to deal with it better and better.”’ He is staying positive and his spirits are up, which is great to see. Depending on how the next few days go, the doctors are hoping Canard can be released to go home by the end of the weekend.”

Something has to be done man....Everybody knows and acknoleges the risks this sport implicates but....there have been too many deaths and injuries at all riding levels lately, young guys and even girls have lost their lives riding and injuries have upscaled in intensity and frequency...training and racing.
Maybe something has to be done like in formula 1 and other motorsports where certain safety standards regarding the vehicle and raceways have been enforced.

This is motocross... and I love it the way it is...... Injuries are part of the sport, and I'm surprised there isn't more gnarlier injuries, so if you can't accept it, watch a sport like baseball, basketball, football, tennis, golf, etc.

"Rockstar Star Valli Motorsports is hoping Morais will be back on the bike in time for the 2012 outdoor season." No disrespect, but after the extent and multitude of injuries Morais sufferred in this crash,I would not put a time table on when someone is coming back to race. The pattern I've seen is that when you rush to come back to soon, you tend to get injured again. Don't worry if you miss this series. Trust me, there will be another SX or MX series next year. Heal up!

Speedy51 ...You nailed it right on....not because of your stupid ass comments ,, but by mentioning you love Motocross....Supercross is totally a different animal and I can bet you 80% of all injuries are caused by training or racing SUPERCROSS!!!

@Wstewart34 I agree with you 100%. I talked to Trey at Anaheim 1 and told him he did the right thing by not racing and getting healthy again. He seemed sort of down and said he was not sure he was doing the right thing. But that is the racer in him. I guess he feels he has a job to do and represent Honda. It kills me to see him sidelined again and so soon after we had words together. He is an awesome kid though. Too many injuries back to back can ruin a career in my opinion. I wish all the injured riders the best!!! Get well guys.
