R2R Morais Fundraiser / Donation Info
Thursday, January 26, 2012 | 6:20 PMCarlsbad, CA – The Road 2 Recovery Foundation is accepting donations for Rockstar Valli-Star Racing Yamaha team rider Ryan Morais who was injured at the Los Angeles Supercross race on January 22, 2012. Ryan’s injuries were very substantial with fractured C1 C2 C6-7 T1, broken ribs, and broken upper and lower jaw.
As of January 25th, Ryan has had surgery to align his jaws and his mouth is wired for the next 8 weeks. Ryan will be wearing a C collar is keep his neck stable, but will have to wait 6-8 weeks to have surgery. He is out of the ICU and his family hopes he will be able to come home in the next week. 4 ½ months ago Ryan’s wife Hannah gave birth to their son Krue. Hannah is still on maternity leave and was expecting to go back to work in a few weeks. Ryan does have health insurance but the hospital they are at is out of network for them.

A fundraiser on his behalf will be taking place Red Rock MX Park in Bastrop TX on Saturday February 4th, 2012, 10:00AM - 5:00PM with all proceeds going to Ryan.

It absolutely blows my mind that some one can have such serious injuries, and it wont be covered because the hospital is "out of network"! Ef the insurance companies!

My prayers go out to Ryan and his wife, I know he will have a speedy recovery.Myself i have fractured C14 and C15 And compressed my discs.Some times we don't think about it but our wives have to take care of us. Hannah you and the other wives THANKS.
