Trey, you are a great ambassador of the sport. So bummed you are out with another injury. Wishing you a speedy recovery bud!
Hang in there Trey! How sweet your next win will be when all this is behind you.
Awesome news!
That's not a radical procedure at all, so Trey should be good to go by outdoors, if he chooses to ride.
Best of luck to him!
Good luck Trey! bum deal for sure! hope your up and at-em ASAP.
is he going to race next weekend/
Trey, Hope you get well soon. Whatever doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger. You will be back in no time. You and your family are in my prayers.
Its like Doug Henry, Nice guy who seems to get hurt bad far to many time.
Hopefully all goes well and Trey can reflect on his life, his family, and his acomplishments.
BillC, Doug Henry is genuine hero of motocross and a great guy. We have a picture of Doug and my son together at Washougal. Doug has suffered many challenges in his life. I saw Jimmy Button a few weeks ago, great he is still involved in the sport. I also saw Danny Magoo Chandler before he passed away. These guys are veterans of our sport and also casualties of moto battles. I would hate to see Trey the same way.
trey this sport is so much better with you in it. Please get well soon and i will cheer you to victory soon. Youve got the speed and talent to beat these guys.
czmark yes Doug is a Great guy, I started out in the "C" class with Doug and raced him many times over the years before he hit the road for good. I still know him and ride at his house. My Bro and I have made many special things for him over the years as well for his Bikes and equitment.
@BillC, Doug is lucky to have a good freind like you. So hows your sled?
@ BillC I just got back to the house and turned on Racee X read the article scrolled down and you Nut no your not cray, you said the same thing I was gonna say!
Medical technology has came a long way since I had a completer fracture of the 3rd lumbar in 76.After 16 days in the hospital on some kind of special bed they put a plaster cast on me from the top of my crack and weine to my neck for 6 months. I did heal up, I did change hospitals Transfered to the Verans hospital because my dad was a Vet. also or it could have been worse. Ten months later I started riding again. That cast was hot and nasty in the middle of the summer. It is amazing what can be done now.
Good luck Trey and GOD BLess.
@BillC- wow Doug Henry, now that's cool. Always liked Doug. He raced sleds a few times too, if I'm not mistaken. You gettin' any ridin' in? Have almost three hundred miles on so far. Need more snow here but Wi. was pretty good.
Yes and Trey, you seem to heal as fast as you ride, for sure, but quit practicing it already! Good luck and God bless.
@Welker, looks like medical technology has come a long ways. That body cast must have sucked. Back in 1981 I was racing down in Mexico and broke both my arms in 4 places. If I had a dollar for everytime someone asked " How do you wipe your a$$", I could have retired a long time ago.
@ czmark I have been ther also but it was not from breaking both arms at the time I had a good woman, that helps LOL, gee great memories now ya think time for a 3 buck chuck ?????
Trey, please get well my friend. We are brothers in Christ! The whole Mx Community is ready to stand by your side.
Finaly got the sled out, Went to VT last weekend, only 100mi but was REAL NICE!!! Leaving Friday for 10 days (8 days of riding) in Canada Hope to put on at least 1,600 miles.
.PS I feel like the Lucky one to Know Doug,. There should be a book on his life!! When his house burned down last year and we asked is he needed anything he says what size pants you wear!! Built it once can build it again he says. I would have been crushed but Doug just brushes it off and moves on.I learn so much from him, Riding and aditude also.
.PPS You guys should see him ride, STILL fast as all!! Crazy fast.
I have been in mx long time, sucks that the good guys get hurt badly i.e.
Bailey, Hepler, Canard, Henry...
@Welker, 3 buck chuck? You must be drinking the high dollar stuff. Anyways have one for me.
@ czmark, ya its $2.89 now. Hey Im on dissability cant afford that good stuff anymore. @ Billc yeah Ive know people like Doug also let too many people use me cause I would always give anyone the shirt of my back if they needed it, Just got in from the garage doing a few things to one of the Harleys I will be able to ride again soon! Really miss racing and know not to play on the street the racing skills help out there.
This is gonna be another good year for us I think and hope everyone can be safe, it is a brutal sport. As most of you kow people say how hard can it be to sit on a motorcycle and twist the throttle?
Take care all.
Trey, hang in there Bro. Sucks so much unnecessary harm has to come to such a good guy......Get betta soon!
Who isn't a fan of Trey...Theres got to be a pile of good luck coming your way man! Best wishes with your operations and recovery! You'll be on the bike before you know it just heal up!
Trey, Hope you heal quickly and completely. You are one of the good guys in the sport. You have a lot of people pulling for you. Hang in there.
It seems to me that during the race broadcast, I heard it mentioned that the rider's only got 3 laps of practice. "3"! These same 3 laps are used to qualify based on your fast lap.
And we wonder why riders are getting hurt. Just who are we saving the track for?
Not a big fan of Trey thought he took some cheap shots at guys his first year in the lights that said I have had my share of back and neck injuries over the years and would not wish this on anyone . I hope you make a speedy and full recovery
Any surgery performed to remove pressure on the spinal cord IS radical and VERY SERIOUS. To say otherwise is just ignorant.......mxpunker!
I would say he has to accept the fact that he has to hang it up...
he was very close to being in a wheelchair for the rest of his life after this one.
The guy has serious bad luck and/or just cant handle the brutal power of a 450.
He better take it as a sign from above and get out of it while he can still walk !
But, realistically Honda cannot keep him for another year anyways...
Canard is aggressive, true. Here is why I really like him. When he was gaining momentum at the end of the 2010 MX season while Pourcel was faltering, people were booing Pourcel. Instead of using that to capitalize on his own fame and success in his podium talks, Canard told the fans cheering him to stop booing and show respect for Pourcel.
Pure class and a great example to all riders, pro and amateur.
When you hear a rider breaks an arm or leg it's disappointing knowing they will miss some races. But when stuff like this happens you are happy that they are still alive and the racing doesn't matter.
dude, what pro mxer hasnt come close to being in a wheelchair? next time you put that bike on the stand after the moto, think about thanking your good fortune of being able to walk. it can happen that easy
