MotoSport.com/TiLube Race Report: L.A.

RIVERSIDE, CA -  After a long night of rain 34000+ fans came out to Dodger Stadium for the third round of the AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series.

MotoSport.com/TiLUBE/Foremost Insurance team had prepared for a little bit of a wet and muddy race however, fans were treated to a great evening of dry racing. With the morning rain practice and qualifying had been shortened to one 12min. qualifying session. Both Chris Blose and Nick Wey qualified well and felt good going into the evening events.

Wey and Blose were both in the second heat race. Not getting the starts they were looking for they would have to come from the back to qualify. When the last lap of the heat race was completed Blose and Wey found themselves 10th and 11th, both outside the transfer positions and off to the LCQ. As the pack riders in the LCQ were rounding the first turn both Blose and Wey were up front. In the first rhythm section Blose made a small mistake and went down ending his night.  Wey went on the finish second and qualify to the main event.

Having last gate pick for the main event Wey was lined up to the full outside of the gate. As Wey charged into the first turn he found an opening and dove to the inside in an effort to get to the front. Battling hard with several riders Wey was able to settle into the 12th position on lap seven.  A little gap had opened up and he was able to ride some fast laps focusing on the riders in 11th and 10th positions. Wey ended crossing the checkered in 13th position.

“I was super sore going into tonight’s race,” said Wey following the race. “I am glad to continue to improve on my results. I will keep working hard so next weekend will be even better.”

“I had a great start in the LCQ however a little mistake cost me and I went down hard.” said Blose. “I will rest up and work on rehabbing my shoulder so that I am ready for Oakland next weekend.”
